  1. 'We had a lot of complications': Serena Williams shares first photos of baby girl Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. as tennis star reveals they spent six days in hospital The tennis star appeared to be teasing the upcoming video on Tuesday night when she posted a photo of herself and her fiance, writing: '... but are you ready?' Williams and Ohanian announced their engagement just a few weeks before the big pregnancy news. He did this by whisking her off to Rome, where the two had met after a chance encounter at their hotel two years prior. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4880394/Serena-Williams-shares-photos-baby-girl-Alexis.html Â

  3. Jehovah’s Witnesses Appeal Russia's 'Extremist' Label. The JehovahÂ’s Witnesses have lodged an appeal with Russia's Supreme Court after being added to an "extremist" registry alongside banned terrorist organizations, the court told the Interfax news agency on Tuesday. RussiaÂ’s Justice Ministry added the religious group to a registry of banned organizations last month after the Supreme Court ruled in April to formally ban the group. The judgement forced 396 registered JehovahÂ’s Witnesses branches across Russia to dissolve. The JehovahÂ’s Witnesses said on their website on Monday that the Supreme Court has three months to consider the appeal. An annual U.S. report on religious freedom cited RussiaÂ’s treatment of the JehovahÂ’s Witnesses among reasons for labeling it a “country of particular concern.” The State DepartmentÂ’s report said the JehovahÂ’s Witnesses rights to religious freedom are “eliminated thoroughly, and yet ‘legallyÂ’ under Russian law.” The UNÂ’s anti-discrimination panel called RussiaÂ’s “extremist” label “vague and broad,” lacking clear and precise criteria for legal classification. https://themoscowtimes.com/news/jehovahs-witnesses-appeal-russias-extremist-label-58922
  4. "A TIME OF TESTING AND JUDGMENT" ??????????? What will happen after the destruction of false religious organizations? It will be a time to reveal what is really in our heart. The majority of mankind will seek refuge in human organizations that are likened to “the rocks of the mountains.”  ??????????? Figuratively speaking, however, GodÂ’s people will flee to the refuge that Jehovah provides. It will be an opportunity for all true believers to prove their love for Jehovah and give their support to ChristÂ’s brothers. Although we do not fully understand all that will happen during that time of test, we can expect that it will involve some measure of sacrifice. In the first century, Christians had to leave behind their possessions and endure hardships in order to survive. ??????????? To remain faithful, will we be willing to experience material loss? Will we be ready to do whatever is required of us to prove our loyalty to Jehovah? Just think! At that time, we will be the only ones following the example of the ancient prophet Daniel by continuing to worship our God no matter what. GodÂ’s people will stand out as unique, “in the center of the earth,” as it were. This will be too much for the nations. Yes, they will be eager to attack JehovahÂ’s anointed ones as well as their associates. ??????????? Lesson for today. (Luke 21:28 WTStudy)  https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2015523#h=16

  7. “He Will Draw Close to You” “[God] is not far off from each one of us.”—ACTS 17:27. ????? HAVE you ever looked up at the starry heavens on a clear night and been filled with wonder? The sheer number of stars and the vastness of space inspire awe. In this immense universe, the earth is but a speck. Does this mean that the Creator, “the Most High over all the earth,” is too lofty to be concerned about humans or too distant and unsearchable to be known by them?—Psalm 83:18. ????? The Bible assures us that humans are far from insignificant in JehovahÂ’s eyes. In fact, GodÂ’s Word encourages us to seek him, saying: “He is not far off from each one of us.” (Acts 17:27; 1 Chronicles 28:9) Indeed, if we take steps to draw close to God, he will respond to our efforts. In what way? The words give this heartwarming answer: “He will draw close to you.” (James 4:8) Let us discuss some of the marvelous blessings that Jehovah showers upon those who are close to him. ????? have a precious gift that he has reserved for his people. All the power, wealth, and education that this system of things offers cannot secure this gift. It is a personal gift, one that Jehovah gives only to those close to him. What is it? GodÂ’s Word answers: “If . . . you give forth your voice for discernment itself, if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God. For Jehovah himself gives wisdom.” (Proverbs 2:3-6) Imagine imperfect humans being able to find “the very knowledge of God”! That gift—the knowledge found in GodÂ’s Word—is compared to “hid treasures.” Why? ????? For one thing, the knowledge of God has great value. One of its most precious blessings is the prospect of everlasting life. (John 17:3) But that knowledge enriches our life even now. For example, as a result of our careful study of GodÂ’s Word, we have come to know the answers to such important questions as: What is GodÂ’s name? (Psalm 83:18) What is the true condition of the dead? (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) What is GodÂ’s purpose for the earth and mankind? (Isaiah 45:18) We have also come to know that the best way to live is by applying the BibleÂ’s wise counsel. (Isaiah 30:20, 21; 48:17, 18) ????? Thus, we have sound guidance that helps us to cope with the anxieties of life and to pursue a course that promotes genuine happiness and satisfaction. Above all, our study of GodÂ’s Word has enabled us to come to know JehovahÂ’s marvelous qualities and to draw close to him. What could be more valuable than a close relationship with Jehovah based on “the very knowledge of God”? ????? Those who are close to Jehovah enjoy another blessing—divine protection. The psalmist David, who was no stranger to adversity, wrote: “Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him, to all those who call upon him in trueness. The desire of those fearing him he will perform, and their cry for help he will hear, and he will save them. Jehovah is guarding all those loving him.” (Psalm 145:18-20) Yes, Jehovah is near to those who love him and therefore can be swift in responding to their cries for help. ????? JehovahÂ’s position as the Universal Sovereign is unaffected by what mere humans may do or refuse to do. Nevertheless, Jehovah is an appreciative God. He values—in fact, cherishes—the faithful service of his intelligent creatures. (Psalm 147:11) This, then, is another benefit enjoyed by those who are close to Jehovah: He rewards his servants.—Hebrews 11:6. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2002924#h=12
  8. "Honor your father and your mother."—Ex. 20:12. Honor and Respect What Does it Mean? ??????????????? 26 He that is maltreating a father [and] that chases a mother away is a son acting shamefully and disgracefully. 27 Cease, my son, to listen to discipline [and it will mean] to stray from the sayings of knowledge." (Proverbs 19:26,27). ??????????????? 20 As for anyone calling down evilupon his father and his mother, his lamp will be extinguished at the approach of darkness." (Proverbs 20:20). ??????????????? In relation to their children, parents are GodÂ’s representatives, authorized to train, discipline, and direct them. Parents are therefore entitled to honor, or respect. (Ex 20:12; Eph 6:1-3; Heb 12:9) ??????????????? This would not be limited to a childÂ’s obedience and his manifesting a high regard for his parents. When necessary, it would include lovingly caring for parents in later life. (Compare Mt 15:4-6.) ??????????????? In the Christian congregation, one who failed to provide for an aged and needy parent was regarded as being worse than a person without faith. (1Ti 5:8) As the apostle Paul pointed out to Timothy, the congregation was not to take on the burden of caring for widows who had children or grandchildren that were able to render material assistance.—1Ti 5:4. ??????????????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200003707?q=ex+20%3A12&p=par

  13. https://www.cnet.com/products/apple-iphone-x/preview/ iPhone X arrives with high price, no home button Jessica Dolcourt Pricing is currently unavailable. The iPhone X -- that's pronounced "ten", by the way, not "ex" -- is a phone of firsts for Apple. A brand-new 5.8-inch OLED screen, Face ID to unlock the phone and no home button. Optical image stabilization on both rear 12-megapixel camera lenses, a portrait mode on the front-facing camera and a new feature to animate emojis. These are the distinguishing features you'll find on Apple's largest, priciest, most ambitious iPhone. You won't get them on the more traditional iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which were also announced Tuesday. In that sense, the "iPhone X" is a fitting name, the extra-special cherry on top to mark the 10th anniversary of the very first iPhone in 2007, which revolutionized at that time everything a smartphone could be, and hurled us on the path that led to what smartphones are today. Now, 10 years after the very first iPhone, Apple one-ups last year's crop across the board with a major feature that Apple's been dragging on for years. The iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X all support Qi wireless charging, a Samsung staple that works with both Qi and PMA standards. Qi (pronounced "chee") is a key addition that could kick-start wireless charging in a way that Samsung and Nokia and Microsoft hadn't been able to accomplish before. The two biggest questions for me focus on the iPhone X's most daring design change, ditching the home button. Will actually make the phone more convenient to use? And will using your face to unlock the phone benefit you, or is it just a workaround? Without thorough testing to see how well it actually works, this one will remain pure speculation. If it does work, you can bet Samsung will step up its game to make its own facial recognition software secure enough for mobile payments (right now, that's just iris scanning and the fingerprint reader). Heading into a crazy-competitive holiday season, the iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus will together lock arms against Samsung's best-selling Galaxy Note 8, LG's video-focused V30 and Google's upcoming Pixel 2 for smartphone supremacy. This is a developing story. We'll be back with additional analysis and hands-on impressions from Apple's campus. iPhone X price and when to buy it The iPhone X ain't cheap. It'll sell for $999, £999 in the UK and AU$1,579 in Australia. Preorders start Oct. 27, and the phone ships Nov. 3. By contrast, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus start at $699 and $799, respectively. (They're £699 and £799 in the UK, or AU$1,079 and AU$1,229 in Australia.) How is iPhone X different from the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus? All three of Apple's new iPhones support wireless charging, and are water- and dust-resistant. They all come with 64GB and 256GB storage options and the same A11 "bionic" chip. They also all get the same upgraded slow-motion video support (1080p at 120fps or 240fps). Here's what's different: iPhone 8 and 8 Plus retain the home button with Touch ID iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are cheaper Preorder iPhone 8/Plus Sept. 15; they'll be available Sept. 22 iPhone X has a larger screen, no home button, OIS in both rear cameras, you can take portraits with the front facing camera The iPhone X comes in black and silver, but not gold iPhone X specs highlights: 5.8-inch OLED display with 458ppi pixel density 2,436x1,135-pixel resolution (Apple calls this a Super Retina display) Dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with OIS on both cameras Portrait mode with portrait lighting feature Front-facing camera has portrait mode now, too No home button Face ID to unlock the phone (hold your phone up to your face) A11 Bionic processor Glass back and front Supports wireless charging 64GB and 256GB options Water- and dust-resistant Animojis make emojis out of you Black and space gray (no gold) A swipe takes you to the iPhone X home screen. GIF by Alexandra Able/CNET No more home button: This is huge As expected, the iPhone X has done away with the home button. So how do you unlock your phone? Start Siri? Multitask? Use Apple Pay? Unlock the phone with Face ID Face ID, which uses a bunch of cameras, including the front-facing camera and IR camera, to scan your face and let you in to your iPhone. What about tricking the phone with photos of yourself? Apple says that won't happen; it's made masks to train the phones to distinguish you from your photo... and that of your evil twin. It will work with third-party apps, too. You just raise the phone, look at it, and swipe to unlock. How do you exit an app and get back to the home screen? Just swipe -- see the GIF above to see how. Launch Siri with a button press If you're not using your voice, you press and hold a side button to get Apple's assistant going. Multitasking It's still here, never fear. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then continue to hold while swiping left or right to switch apps. Buy stuff with Apple Pay You can still do this even with no home button. Tap the side button twice to launch Face ID for Apple Pay. Animojis use Face ID to make emojis out of you You can create a new, living breed of emojis with iPhone X. Called animojis (a portmanteau of "animated" and "emoji"), the new feature taps into Face ID to lend popular emojis, mostly animals for now, your expressions in a message. There's a cat, a panda, a unicorn, a fox, a monkey, a pig, an alien, a dog, a rabbit, a rooster, a robot and... poop. Thanks, Apple. Keeping it classy. Animojis live as an app right inside messages. Wireless charging pad (sneak peek) Wireless charging mats aren't new, but Apple wants to make one for your iPhones, your Apple Watch Series 3 and your AirPods ($249.00 at Amazon Marketplace) (if you have a wireless charging case). 14. Reflecting on Jesus’ humble mental attitude can help us to ‘conduct ourselves as lesser onesÂ’ among our brothers. ????? Doing so contributes to unity. Jehovah, like the father of a large family, wants his children to “dwell together in unity,” to get along. Ps. 133:1 & Luke 9:46. Picture by: edsalazarfineart
  15. Run, Run to Safety! - Don't Keep Your Head in the Sand! ????????? Abounding With Life ?????????? As lifeless as sand may appear, many creatures call it home. Foxes, snakes, and scorpions burrow in desert sand during the day. Sleeping through the heat, they come out at night to hunt for food. Along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, in southwest Africa, elephants roam the vast dunes. They seem to have fun on the steep, sandy inclines, sliding down dragging their back legs. The “ship of the desert,” also known as the camel, cruises the sand seas of Asia and Africa. ????????? Some animals come up out of the ocean to make use of sand. When their biological clocks sound the alarm, horseshoe crabs, sea turtles, and small fish called grunions ride the surf to the shore. There they lay their eggs to incubate in the softness of the sand. ????????? For certain flowers, a dune is as comfortable as a window box. Sea rockets, beach peas, and beach morning glories flourish in sand and push their heads back up even when a dune buries them. Their long roots pull up water and nutrients to feed dainty blossoms—dabs of color on the monotone canvas of sand. ????????? Granted, sand can be irritating when it collects in your shoes as you stroll near the shore. Do not get annoyed though. The fact is, we depend on those humble grains of sand! Sand is yet another testament to the wisdom of the Creator, Jehovah God.—Psalm 104:24. 24 How many your works are, O Jehovah!B You have made all of them in wisdom. The earth is full of what you have made." Tap on Video on Link ____Enjoy! ????????? IMG_6106.MP4
