    Comfort for the Brokenhearted
    ?❣️?❣️?
This compassionate God promises: “I reside . . . with the one crushed and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly ones and to revive the heart of the ones being crushed.” (Isaiah 57:15)
    ?❣️?❣️?
“Jehovah is near.” One reference work says that this phrase is “an expressive way of saying that the Lord is attentive and watchful, always ready to help and to save his people.” It is reassuring to know that Jehovah watches over his people. He sees what they are going through in these “critical times,” and he knows their innermost feelings. (2 Timothy 3:1; Acts 17:27)
    ?❣️?❣️?
“Those that are broken at heart.” In some cultures, “a broken heart” has reference to unrequited love. But the psalmist’s words refer to “more general grief and sorrow,” says one scholar. Yes, even faithful worshippers of God may at times experience extreme hardships that break their heart.
    ?❣️?❣️?
“Those who are crushed in spirit.” Discouraged ones may become so low in their own eyes that they momentarily lose all hope. A handbook for Bible translators says that this expression may be rendered “those who have nothing good to look forward to.”
    ?❣️?❣️?
How does Jehovah respond to those who are “broken at heart” and “crushed in spirit”? Does he keep distant from them, feeling that they are unworthy of his love and attention?
    ?❣️?❣️?
On the contrary! Like a loving parent who holds and comforts a child in distress, Jehovah is near to his worshippers who cry out to him for help. He is eager to comfort and soothe their broken heart and crushed spirit. He can give them the wisdom and strength needed to cope with any trials they may face.(2 Corinthians 4:7; James 1:5)

All praise goes to Jehovah for the harvest that has been reaped in that part of the earth. Whenever they gather for worship, it is an answer to Satan's evil taunts to Jehovah. Jehovah builds his house of glory and no one can stop it from standing forever! Great news! (Proverbs 10:22)

"Gird yourselves with lowliness of mind toward one another, because God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones."—1 Pet. 5:5.
    ???????
    How to Age Gracefully
HOW do you feel when the thought of aging comes up? It fills many with concern, anxiety, and even dread. This is because aging is usually associated with negatives, such as diminished looks, a frail body, memory loss, and chronic diseases.
    ?????
However, the fact is that people differ greatly in the way they age. Some enjoy relatively good health, physically and mentally, in their later years. Advances in medicine have enabled others to treat or control chronic illnesses. As a result, in some lands more and more people are living longer and healthier lives.
    ?????
Nevertheless, whether confronted with age-related problems or not, most people wish to be able to age gracefully. How can this be done? In part, doing so depends on our attitude and our willingness and ability to adapt to this new phase in life. To help in these areas, let us consider some simple and practical Bible principles.
    ?????
BE MODEST: “Wisdom is with the modest ones.” (Proverbs 11:2) In this context, “the modest ones” can refer to elderly ones who recognize and come to terms with the limitations of their age, not trying to deny or ignore them. Charles, 93, in Brazil, is realistic when he says: “If you live long, you will have to age. There is no way to turn back the clock.”
    ?????
BEING MODEST, however, in no way means adopting the defeatist attitude “I am old, and there is nothing more for me.” Such an attitude can sap one of enthusiasm. “If you become discouraged in the day of distress, your strength will be meager,” says Proverbs 24:10. Instead, a modest person shows wisdom, making the best of a situation.
    ?????
BE BALANCED: “Women should adorn themselves in appropriate dress, with modesty and soundness of mind.” (1 Timothy 2:9) The expression “appropriate dress” denotes balance and good taste.
    ?????
BE POSITIVE: “All the days of the afflicted one are bad, but the one with a cheerful heart has a continual feast.” (Proverbs 15:15) As you age, you may experience negative feelings when you remember your youthful vigor and the many things you were once able to do. This is understandable. However, make an effort not to be overcome by those negative feelings. Dwelling on the past can make your days gloomy and discourage you from doing what you are still able to do. Joseph, 79, in Canada, thinks positively: “I try to enjoy doing the things I can do and not cry over the things that I used to do but can’t do now.”
    ?????
Reading and learning can also make you feel more positive, broadening your horizons. Thus, to the extent possible, be alert for opportunities to read and learn new things.
    ?????
BE GENEROUS: “Practice giving, and people will give to you.” (Luke 6:38) Make it a practice to share some of your time and resources with others. This will give you a feeling of accomplishment and happiness.  Yes, a generous person creates an atmosphere of warmth and appreciation that others find enjoyable.
    ?????
BE FRIENDLY: “Whoever isolates himself pursues his own selfish desires; he rejects all practical wisdom.” (Proverbs 18:1) While there are times when you may want to be alone, avoid becoming isolated and withdrawn.  Take the initiative to invite friends over occasionally.
    ?????
BE THANKFUL: “Show yourselves thankful.” (Colossians 3:15) When receiving help, show appreciation for the attention. Expressions of thankfulness help to cultivate good relationships.
    ?????
Above all, be thankful for life itself. “A live dog is better off than a dead lion,” wise King Solomon reminded us. (Ecclesiastes 9:4) Yes, with the right attitude coupled with willingness to adapt, it is possible to age gracefully.

Martha Braun Amistadi reacted to Bible Speaks in WALK IN JEHOVAH’S NAME ? ? ?
"From the sun’s rising even to its setting my name will be great among the nations." —Mal. 1:11.
    WALK IN JEHOVAH’S NAME
Why should we view it as an honor to walk in Jehovah’s name?
    ???
The prophet Micah wrote: “All the peoples, for their part, will walk each one in the name of its god; but we, for our part, shall walk in the name of Jehovah our God to time indefinite, even forever.” (Mic. 4:5)
    ???
That Jehovah allowed the Bible Students to adopt his name was more than just a great honor. It was also a reassuring indication of his approval. (Read Malachi 3:16-18.) What, though, about you personally? Are you making every effort to “walk in the name of Jehovah”? Do you appreciate what that involves?
    ???
What is involved in walking in God’s name?
    ???
Walking in God’s name involves at least three things. First, we must proclaim that name to others, recognizing that only those who ‘call on the name of Jehovah will be saved.’ (Rom. 10:13) Second, we need to reflect Jehovah’s qualities, especially his love. And third, we walk in God’s name when we joyfully submit to his righteous standards, lest we bring reproach on our Father’s holy name. (1 John 4:8; 5:3) Are you determined to “walk in the name of Jehovah our God to time indefinite”?
    ???
Why can all who honor Jehovah’s great name look to the future with confidence?
    ???
Soon all who ignore or defy Jehovah will be forced to recognize him. (Ezek. 38:23) That includes individuals who are like Pharaoh, who said: “Who is Jehovah, so that I should obey his voice?” How quickly he found out! (Ex. 5:1, 2; 9:16; 12:29) We, though, have willingly come to know Jehovah. We are proud to bear his name and to be his obedient name people. Hence, we look to the future with confidence in the promise recorded at Psalm 9:10: “Those knowing your name will trust in you, for you will certainly not leave those looking for you, O Jehovah.”
    ???
God’s name is a form of a Hebrew verb meaning “to become.” Thus, “Jehovah” means “He Causes to Become.”—Gen. 2:4, ftn.
    ???
The Hebrew text used by the early Christians contained the Tetragrammaton. Evidence points to the conclusion that the same was true of early copies of the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures.

Russia’s  Supreme  Court  to  Hear  Appeal  by  Jehovah’s Witnesses  on  July 17,  2017
Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia filed an appeal against the Supreme Court ruling that effectively banned their worship. The April 20 ruling, handed down by Judge Yuriy Ivanenko, terminated all activity of the Witnesses’ legal entities throughout the country. A three-judge panel of the Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Court will hear the appeal on July 17, 2017.
The appeal requests a full reversal of the ruling. It emphasizes that the ruling is not based on factual evidence and that Jehovah’s Witnesses are not guilty of extremist activity in any way. The appeal also highlights that the charges that led to the Supreme Court ruling are the same charges that authorities used as a basis to persecute the Witnesses during the Soviet era. They were later rehabilitated and exonerated from these charges. Additionally, the appeal emphasized that the ruling contradicts the guarantees of religious freedom embodied in Russia’s Constitution and its international commitments.
The ruling is already affecting the Witnesses in ways reminiscent of the oppression they experienced under Communist rule. Authorities are prosecuting some Witnesses for “extremist activity,” employers have dismissed Witnesses from their jobs, schoolteachers have intimidated Witness students in front of their classmates, and biased individuals have vandalized Kingdom Halls and firebombed two homes of Witnesses—burning the homes to the ground.
Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide hope that the Appellate Chamber of Russia’s Supreme Court will see the injustice of the   earlier ruling and reverse it, thus protecting religious freedom and the security of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia.

This video gives such glory to the Designer and Creator of us all---Jehovah. All of the precise processes that have a specified time for taking place---from the way the sperm have to swim towards the egg to the way only one finally makes it there to the delivery of the genetic code to the conception to the development of the baby---this is the remarkable handiwork of God! The greatest creation in the physical universe, our human brain--it too grows at specific times in specific ways! Cell differentiation doesn't happen at our commands. No! Our great God set the time for all these events to happen. What a faith building video! This is proof that the day and hour for the end to come is set to happen at Jehovah's time just perfectly! And, daily we are moving closer to that time. Have faith and endure whatever we must until that day arrives.

I know it's been said before, but, each year the Regional Conventions just keep on getting better than before. "That was the best ever!" has often been said by appreciative brothers and sisters after the conventions end. Without a doubt, we will be saying the same again after this upcoming series of sessions. So many spiritual riches are being given from our "Grand Instructor" (Isaiah 30:20) Jehovah! The Governing Body of brothers do great work in dispensing Jehovah's "banquet of rich dishes." Martha Braun Amistadi reacted to Bible Speaks in MOSCOW – Tens of thousands of protesters have thronged Moscow this weekend to protest against a ban of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the country.
MOSCOW – Tens of thousands of protesters have thronged Moscow this weekend to protest against a ban of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the country.
Organizers claimed over 150,000 people took part in the Moscow protest, which would make it the biggest since the collapse of the Soviet Union 20 years ago. This outnumbers the number of people who protested against Vladimir Putin in December 2011.
Protesters try to break through a cordon during a demonstration against Jehovah’s Witnesses ban
On April 20, Russia’s Supreme Court declared Jehovah’s Witnesses to be an extremist organization and outlawed its activity throughout Russia, thereby upholding the Justice Ministry’s requests. The court declared the immediate shutdown of all 395 local chapters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia and transferred the organization’s assets into state custody. Jehovah’s Witnesses said it would appeal the decision.
According to the protesters, they are Christians from various denominations and they “could not look on as rights to worship of other denomination is infringed upon”. One protester told the press that “this ban would gradually eats into other Christian denominations”.
No member Jehovah’s Witness took part in the protest.
Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky court weeks ago rejected a lawsuit filed by the Jehovah’s Witnesses religious group against the Justice Ministry’s ruling on banning its activity in Russia, a TASS correspondent reported from the courtroom.
The organization asked the court to recognize the Justice Ministry’s ruling as illegal and order its cancellation. “The court decided to reject the lawsuit of the religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses Administrative Center in Russia,” Judge Nelli Rubtsova said.
In its lawsuit, the Justice Ministry pointed to various violations by the organization’s activities revealed during a surprise inspection, including of the Law on Counteracting Extremist Activities.
On October 12, 2016, Moscow’s Tverskoy district court issued a warning to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Administrative Center based on revelations of extremism there. Under Russian law, a religious association or organization is subject to termination if it does not remedy the specified manifestations of extremism before the required deadline or displays any new ones.
Jehovah’s Witnesses is an international religious organization that supports offbeat views on the essence of the Christian faith and provides special interpretations of many commonly accepted notions.
