Oh yes,  I  want  smell  it  too  Carmen...   I  post  for  you  my  little  fav. flower...  saw  it  on  the  Maldives !  This  smell  is  simple  phenomenal...  I  had  to  smell  it  daily,  SO  good !  The  blossoms  growing  on  little,  but  also  on  very  big  trees.  I  found  them  daily  on  the  ground. It  does  give  it  in  many  variations,  nice  colors...  but  I  saw  only  the  white - yellows  there ;-)  You  can  find  it  in  the  Carribean  too. The  name  is,  FRANGIPANI  -  I  got  a  little  from  my  Maldivian  Holiday - friends,  but  it  never  showed  me  a  blossom,  only  8 leaves   I  must  buy  a  plant  by  Ebay  or  in  my  town  in  Germany,  seems  so,  sorry...

PS.  On  Hawaii  also  growing  Frangipanies...  I  saw  often  in  TV  -  The  Tourists  get  always  a  Frangipani - chain,  around  their  neck  ;-)

T Naidoo reacted to Ann O'Maly in Who are declared righteous for life ?
Tenuous? Hardly. The whole (alleged) distinction between being 'declared righteous for life' versus being 'declared righteous as Jehovah's friend' is centered on the two destiny concept. Given that the vast majority of Christian believers over the past (nearly) 2000 years are dead and awaiting resurrection ... somewhere - some to 'heavenly' immortality and others to 'earthly' probation-pending-permanence (as WT teaching goes) ... the discussion about resurrection is very much on topic.
Are they contemplating a resurrection to heaven? Or just the resurrection per se?

T Naidoo reacted to Diakonos in Why should such mistaken views not cast doubt on whether Jesus was guiding his followers?
I really didn't know whether to laugh, cry or throw my hands up in despair when we discussed this at last night's meeting. The answers that were given during these paragraphs and the response of the study conductor really showed to me how, as a general rule, we are such a non-thinking and illogical group of people.

5 As we saw in Chapter 2 of this book, the Bible Students spent decades pointing out that the year 1914 would be significant in fulfilling Bible prophecy. However, at that time they believed that Christ’s presence had begun in 1874, that he had begun to rule in heaven in 1878, and that the Kingdom would not be fully set up until October 1914. The harvest would extend from 1874 to 1914 and would culminate in the gathering of the anointed to heaven. Do mistaken ideas such as these cast doubt on whether Jesus was guiding those faithful ones by means of holy spirit?
6 Not at all! Think again of our opening illustration. Would the premature ideas and eager questions of the tourists cast doubt on the reliability of their guide? Hardly! Similarly, although God’s people sometimes try to work out details of Jehovah’s purpose before it is time for the holy spirit to guide them to such truths, it is clear that Jesus is leading them. Thus, faithful ones prove willing to be corrected and humbly adjust their views.

    It is also upsetting that the governing body, in instances like this, always speak in the third person. How much more humble would it be for them to say ;

"Similarly, although we, the faithful and discreet slave sometimes try to work out details of Jehovah’s purpose before it is time for the holy spirit to guide us to such truths..."

    Any comments ?

    Bible Reading—Profitable and Pleasurable
“You must . . . read in it day and night.”—JOSHUA 1:8.                         The Bible’s Author, Jehovah God has preserved it through centuries of virulent opposition from its enemies, both religious and secular. Since it is his will that “all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth,” he has seen to it that his Word is made available to all humankind. (1 Timothy 2:4) It is estimated that about 80 percent of earth’s inhabitants can be reached by the use of 100 languages. The text of the entire Bible is available in 370 languages, and parts of the Scriptures can be read in a further 1,860 languages and dialects. Jehovah wants his people to read his Word. He blesses his servants who give attention to his Word, yes, who read it daily.—Psalm 1:1, 2.
Notice the reasons why Jehovah required all future kings of Israel to read the book of divine law daily: (1) “in order that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God so as to keep all the words of this law and these regulations by doing them”; (2) “that his heart may not exalt itself above his brothers”; (3) “that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right or to the left.”

“Stop storing up for yourselves treasures on the earth,+ where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,+ where neither moth nor rust consumes,+ and where thieves do not break in and steal.

We are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God.—2 Cor. 10:5.

We need to be vigilant in guarding against attacks on our spirituality. Has the world’s view of material pursuits made inroads into our lives? The things we love are usually evident by our thoughts and actions. Jesus said: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:21) To determine where our heart is leading us, it is good to examine ourselves from time to time. Ask yourself: ‘How much time do I spend thinking about money matters? Do concerns over business prospects, investments, or reaching out for a more comfortable lifestyle occupy large blocks of my time? Or do I strive to maintain an eye that is focused on spiritual matters?’ (Matt. 6:22) Jesus indicated that those who place primary emphasis on ‘storing up treasures on the earth’ put themselves in grave spiritual danger.—Matt. 6:19, 20, 24. w14 10/15 4:4, 5

Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned.—Rom. 5:12.
    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/11/24
The first to die was faithful Abel. (Gen. 4:8) Then Adam’s other offspring grew old and died. Did they inherit sin as well as death? The apostle Paul answers: “Through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners.” (Rom. 5:19) Sin and death inherited from Adam thus became implacable enemies of mankind, inescapable for imperfect humans. We cannot exactly describe all that was involved in passing on their sad inheritance to Adam’s immediate and more distant offspring, but passed on it was. Fittingly, the Bible refers to inherited sin and death as “the shroud that is enveloping all the peoples and the covering that is woven over all the nations.” (Isa. 25:7) This suffocating covering, or shroud, this intricate webwork of condemnation, entraps all people. So the fact is that “in Adam all are dying.”—1 Cor. 15:22. w14 9/15 4:8, 9
