Isaiah 9:6 is a prophetic description of Christ. The phrase “his name” in Isaiah 9:6 is a Hebrew idiom, and mean much more than a name that the child actually bears, it signifies that they are appellatives or descriptive designations of His person and work.
 
Wonderful Counsellor.

Allow me to make one point; Isaiah 9:6 is not saying that Jesus is the Father.
 
The designation “Eternal Father”” (“Everlasting Father” in some Bible versions) means “Father of eternity”. The word ‘Father’ carries the meaning of “possessor”; possessor of eternity.
 
This is in complete accordance with Hebrew custom, where he who possesses a thing is called the “father” of it. For example father of strength means “strong”; the father of knowledge means “intelligent”’; the father of compassion means “compassionate”; and the father of goodness means “good”.
 
So according to common usage, the phrase “Father of eternity” (Isa. 9:6) would mean eternal. Bible scholar John A. Martin thus concludes that the phrase “Eternal Father” is simply “an idiom used to describe the Messiah’s relationship to time” (The Bible Knowledge Commentary). <><

This  is  a  *Happy Orchid*   ( also  called  *Bee Orchid*  or  *Ophrys apifera* )
This happy little guy gets its name from its uncanny resemblance to a smiling bumblebee; that is if bumblebees could smile. You see, the Bee Orchid requires a symbiotic relationship with a particular type of fungus to successfully grow, making transplanting tough. Let’s face it (pun intended), this little guy didn’t take a whole lot of imagination to name; “Dracula” because of it’s two long, fang-like petals and “simia” for its resemblance to primates. Our Love Becomes So Much Deeper When We Learn How Much We are Loved By Him! ?

I was born a Roman Catholic. I had been devoted to God since I was a child and was serving him since I was in high school. I was planning on becoming a Catholic Nun. In high school I read Matthew, which taught me many interesting things about the future that I was not being taught. Then at 17, when I was babysitting, there were Jehovah’s Witnesses' books and brochures at the home, which I read while babysitting. I saw the pictures showing how bad people would become. I said to myself, “People will NEVER get THAT bad". But at that point, I decided that I could NOT become a Nun because what I had read was so VERY different from anything taught by the Church. I always wanted to serve God, but before I devoted my life to God, I wanted to be sure that I was serving the TRUE God. So I began searching to find the truth.
 
I had ALWAYS believed that the Bible was truly God's Word and not man's, so I knew that the truth would be in the Bible. I spent the next two decades studying the Bible and searching for early copies of the Bible to learn what was REALLY God's message. It became impossible to learn the truth.
 
I always respected the way Jehovah’s Witnesses knew and used the Bible so thoroughly. So I began accepting regular "informal" return visits from two sisters who gave me the NWT Bible. But I was still not ready to study formally.
 
Many years passed. Then one day a brother came to the door and showed me the book What Does the Bible REALLY Teach?  When I saw that the Jehovah’s Witnesses had a book that actually taught what the Bible REALLY teaches, I immediately started a formal Bible study, believing that I had FINALLY found the TRUTH!!! As I started learning what the Bible REALLY says, I quickly learned that (1) "JEHOVAH"  was God's name! And I saw similar pictures to what I had seen when I was young which show how bad people would become. Since it was decades since I last saw those pictures, I could see that (2) this prophesy had COME TRUE! These two things proved to me that Jehovah’s Witnesses MUST have God’s truth!

The sister who gave me the Bible had written an inscription in it which included John's words: "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  I always meditated on those words before learning the truth, and eventually Jehovah's words at Psalm 37:4 came true: "Find exquisite delight in Jehovah, And he will grant you the desires of your heart."

RUSSIA  - The Holy Spirit of Jehovah in action....    ENJOY !
I thought it would be heartening to share an experience I had while working on the Bethel Chelmsford site   a couple of days ago.
I worked with a Russian-speaking brother and, of course, I asked him if he had "any updated news about our brothers and sisters in Russia". He has been talking to some of his friends in Russia and told me that "many inactive" had begun to return to the truth when they saw the persecution as a sign of the nearness of the end of this system. He also mentioned that some employers who have witnesses as employees have been interested in the truth, since they can not relate the good behavior of their employees with the label of "extremism". This has made some of them curious about our beliefs and teachings. Also those interested have had their interest reached by what has been happening, so some have increased their interest. Also the fact that some of the law enforcement countries have had to go through our literature trying to find something extremist has meant people who would normally have nothing to do with the truth have come to understand our message of the good news.
It is amazing how Jehovah has used this prohibition and the unjust treatment of our brothers as a catalyst to get people interested in the truth.
He also mentioned that there was consensus that the "exemplary family award" that was given to the family of witnesses at the award ceremony was purposely made to be a symbolic gesture that "yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are good people" and as people who have no problem with us Almost nobody believes it was an accident, since nobody can get so close to Putin without the powers to know everything about you, your family, the way you live, including your religion, and everything others about his life and that of his families. The timing was well judged and "it seemed to be a way of letting the world realize that it was trying to be fair and balanced, maintaining its position on extremist activities." :confused:
The preaching work is done very covertly and they do not go out of their way to mention that they are Jehovah's Witnesses, maybe just a few words in a conversation and then they continue normally. In the smaller cities where everyone knows everyone, there is more persecution than in cities where it is easier   to mix.
Some brothers are leaving the country and find it very easy to request asylum for reasons of religious persecution even more than asylum seekers from countries torn by war.
I believe that the spirit of Jehovah is working firmly in Russia, even though there is a lot of religious persecution. Jehovah is using this situation in a very positive way, just as we thought he would. I know that this information comes only from one source and that other sources may have a different opinion on all this, but I found it extremely encouraging to hear the positive effect that this situation has had on the country of Russia.

I had received regular "informal" return visits with two sisters a few years before seeing the book and had been given a JW Bible. Also, I always respected the way JW's knew and used the Bible so thoroughly. And, as I said earlier, I KNEW that the TRUTH would be found IN the Bible [because I had ALWAYS believed that the Bible was truly God's Word and not man's.] So, when I saw that the JW's actually had a book that taught what the Bible REALLY teaches, I started to study. As I started learning what the Bible REALLY says, I quickly learned that "JEHOVAH" truly was God's name! That proved to me that the JW's MUST truly have the truth.
