This book is identical to Dear Mr. Putin: Jehovah's Witnesses write in Russia, except that all citations from The Watchtower publications have been withdrawn, which allows them to read safely in Russia, that is, unless and until The whole book is declared an extremist there. You do not need to download this if you can read the other one securely.
Plus In early 2017, Jehovah's Witnesses were invited only once to write to Vladimir Putin. In two months, up to 49 million letters were sent. They were not all for Putin, other officials were identified, but his was the most visible name. The problem was not avoided, however, Russia came to know a nation on earth where every citizen cares deeply for others.
On the surface, the letter writing campaign was a failure. The opposition that would eventually lead to the prohibition of religious organization by the Supreme Court continued unabated. It has only intensified since then. Two and only two groups of children have been recognized by the authorities as at risk of "destructive psychological influence": children of members of ISIS and children of Jehovah's Witnesses. Currently, the elimination of parental rights for members of the two groups is an unused tool, but it is a tool that has been approved for use.
Witnesses from all over the world felt and felt the ardor of their Russian brothers and sisters as if they were in them. They longed to do something and here was something tangible they could do. By participating in the drafting of letters, they strengthened their Russian counterparts, who are now in the eye of the storm.
Jehovah's Witnesses have been banned in Russia since tsarist times. Their survival and growth at all times are part of the Soviet legend. With the arrival of 'Perestroika' and 'Glasnost', they were granted religious freedom, but their time of freedom lasted only until 2017, and the current laws are tougher than the previous ones. The books about Jehovah's Witnesses written by Jehovah's Witnesses are not abundant. It's a pity, because no stranger, even with the best intentions, can do justice to the faith as a connoisseur can: they forget the nuances, and in some cases, even the facts. Jehovah's Witnesses come mainly from the ranks of the workers, who are not willing to write books. The roads to publicize their faith are already well established. Why write a book when you can look people in the eye and tell them what you have to say?
In general, the books written by the Witnesses are of special interest: stand firm during the Holocaust, clarify civil rights through the Superior Courts or even the issue of blood transfusion. What this writer tries here has not seen anyone before.
The Russian courts gave the appearance that the decision they had made had already been taken somewhere from above and it would be up to the judge to impose it, which, of course, he did. The specific reasons of the opposition were mostly absent from the judicial proceedings. So I have provided them, along with a defense for each one, in areas as diverse as the charges of "cult", rejection, donation practices and the burning issue of pedophilia. The last accusation did not play any role in Russian events, but it has another place.
Non-witnesses can write about the practical aspects of the movement to destroy the infrastructure of the faith in Russia. But they will lose the subtleties of the reason for doing so. They will totally miss the atmosphere that drives all the Witnesses of the world to write to relevant Russian officials. What the base soldiers felt when they followed the ups and downs of last-minute events will be lost. This book is written to supply those missing pieces.

Reportedly, the search for Jehovah's Witnesses by local authorities is forcing people to move to Finland and other European countries.
Religious persecution forces Jehovah's Witnesses to leave Russia.
Following the banning of the religious group by the Supreme Court of Russia, The Barents Observer reports that the members are being persecuted by the Russian security agency and the Russian National Guard.
On Friday, April 20, 2018, two Jehovah's Witnesses were arrested in a Russian city called Polyarny. They were arrested after raids in at least six places, according to the newspaper of the regional authorities, Murmanski Vestnik.
Incursions like this, followed by other forms of persecution, are forcing the members of the religious group to leave the country.
They started fleeing Russia in 2017. There are now around 1,000 Russians in Finland and other European countries.
According to Veikko Leininen, spokesperson for the section of Jehovah's Witnesses in Finland, "at least many dozens are coming".
Religious persecution in Russia
On April 20, 2017, the Russian Supreme Court banned Jehovah's Witnesses and officially branded them as an extremist organization.
The ruling also established that any Russian who discovered himself as a member would be imprisoned for six to ten years. A year has passed since the court's decision and things have gone from bad to terrible.
According to reports, 17 properties have been confiscated, while there are ongoing lawsuits to seize 52 other properties.
Jaroslav Sivulsky, representative of the European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses, says: "After the decision of the Supreme Court, there was an increase in religious intolerance in the country between March 15, 2017 and April 1, 2018 , the "European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses" received information, and it is far from complete, approximately 250 violations of the rights of believers, including attacks, vandalism, various types of discrimination, dismissals and I like it.
"... We know of 27 cases of vandalism, in most cases insulting insults, damage to the buildings where believers live or where divine services were previously celebrated, in 7 cases, significant damage was caused. 13 citizens reported that after the decision of the Supreme Court they were dismissed or forced to resign by their own will because of their religious beliefs. "
With this level of persecution, who can blame Jehovah's Witnesses for leaving Russia?

The United States condemned the repression of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia
The US Representative to the OSCE, Michel Sayders, at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on May 10, accused the Russian authorities of "increasing restrictions on freedom of conscience and religion in Russia."
In a statement, they mentioned the repression of recognized Russian extremists and banned organization "Jehovah's Witnesses", in particular, including searches, which took place in April in Ufa, Pole, Vladivostok and Shuya. "Russia continues to use anti-extremist legislation to criminalize the free practice of religious worship," says the statement, which focuses on the persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses.
The searches in the city of Polyarny of the Murmansk region, mentioned in the application, were carried out on April 18 in 7 apartments, 17 people were interrogated. May 10, Court of the Murmansk region sent 55 days in prison and Roman Markin Victor Mills, who, according to the European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses, lost contact after the searches on April 18. They are accused of "organizing the activities of an extremist organization."

Attacks of pit bulls, which cause injuries to 4 people at home in Arlington
Two are missionaries of Jehovah's Witnesses. All were treated in hospitals. The dog was sacrificed.
ARLINGTON - A pit bull attacked a group of missionaries Tuesday afternoon in Arlington, sending four people to hospitals and leaving one of them, a woman in her 70s, with severe dog bites.
Four Jehovah's Witnesses arrived at the house in a van around 12:25 pm in the 6500 block of 204 NE Street, in front of Arlington Cemetery, said city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield.
A woman, 76, opened the door of the truck. A male pit bull escaped from a backyard fence, pounced on the missionary and mutilated him. The other three missionaries tried to get the dog out of it, Banfield said.
Two relatives of the dog owner ran out of the home to help. The group used a tree branch 3 to 4 inches in diameter to hit the pit bull, to try to stop it from biting. The dog was defeated, but he continued to fight in at least three separate attacks, Banfield said. The severely wounded woman broke free and retreated to the truck. He lost a lot of blood, said Banfield.
The aid teams asked for a medical helicopter. It was canceled because it would have taken too long to fly from Bellingham, Banfield said. The woman was transported to Providence Everett Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
A second missionary, a 40-year-old woman, was bitten. A man, 31, and a woman, 63, of the house were also attacked. Ambulances brought those three to Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington. The extent of his injuries was not clear. The other two missionaries were not hurt.
Police and animal control officers responded to the house. A tow truck dragged the missionaries' truck to be confiscated as evidence. The detectives were investigating the attack until nightfall.
The owner of the dog returned to the house. He handed the dog over to the Arlington police and, without asking for help, asked the officers to slaughter the animal.

Why are there more and more Jehovah's Witnesses in the center of the city of Newcastle?
Members of the faith spend part of their time delivering copies of the faith magazine, The Watchtower.
If you have been recently in the center of the city of Newcastle, you will have noticed them.
Happily handing out copies of The Watchtower of the cars, Jehovah's Witnesses head to the streets of Newcastle in droves.
And the reason for the recent increase is simply due to a change in tactics.
For years, members have gone door to door to spread the word about faith.
But now the members are heading to the city to try to reach more people.
"We feel that the use of cars allows us to reach people we might not find at home due to their work schedules or other factors," said spokesman Andrew Schofield. "The cars also give the public the option to approach or not to us, which some people appreciate.
"Literature carts are being used not only in the Newcastle area but throughout the world, and we anticipate that they will be a regular feature of our public preaching for many years to come."
Faith has congregations in Wideopen, Gosforth, Benwell, Heaton and Benton.
No one at the London headquarters, or at multiple Tyneside branches, would comment on whether the strategy resulted in an increase in followers.
There are around eight and a half million Jehovah's Witnesses around the world.
The modern organization began in the late nineteenth century. At that time, a small group of Bible students who lived near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States, began a systematic analysis of the Bible.
They compared the doctrines taught by the churches with what the Bible really teaches. They began to publish what they learned in books, newspapers and the newspaper that is now called The Watchtower: announcing the Kingdom of Jehovah.
Famous followers will not accept blood donations, nor celebrate birthdays, claiming that "such celebrations displease God."

The formations that look like lion tails (i.e., white stalactites with orange bulbs on the end) formed close to the water surface, with the white part being above water and the orange part being just below the water surface. This contrast between the orange and white formations can give you an idea of where the level of the lake was in the past. Lechuguilla is a very beautiful and highly protected cave. Access is very strongly controlled and only given to experienced cavers with specific scientific or exploration goals within certain parts of the cave. This particular part of the cave had been ‘out of boundsÂ’ for nearly 25 years. Lechuguilla features strongly in the episode Genesis of documentary ‘One Strange RockÂ’

Dennis christensen who have been in pre-trial detention since may 28,2017 faces a 10 years imprisonment if found guilty of allegedly  organizing  the activities of the organisation of Jehovah's  witnesses in russia which was banned by the supreme court in russia on April 20,2017.
On May 28,2017,at least 15 masked and armed police with guns together with Federal Security Service (FSB) officers disrupted the peaceful  religious service of Jehovah's witnesses. The police collected copies  of identification documents of the 70-80 people in attendance during the meeting of Jehovah"s witnesses  and seized their electronic devices. Mr. Christensen who served as an overseer  was immediately taken to the detention in Oryol because they thought he was the "leader" of the group as he was conducting a bible study the day of his arrest. 
Mr Christensen was charged with organizing an illegal religious activity under article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal code and he faces up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Dennis who married Irina Christensen on August 3, 2002  have no children.From the day of his arrest, their banks accounts have been frozen and their bank card confiscated although they have received help from the brothers and sisters. 
The hearing will resume on May 14, 2018, and is scheduled to continue for several days during the month. If convicted, Mr. Christensen could face a prison term of six to ten years. JehovahÂ’s Witnesses worldwide are alarmed at this possibility and are concerned for the welfare of both Mr. Christensen and his wife, Irina.

Your Mysterious Tears
CRYING accompanies us from the day we are born. One expert explains that as babies, crying became our “acoustic umbilical cord,” because we cry to have our emotional and physical needs cared for. 
But why do we shed tears as we grow older, when we can communicate in other ways?
Whatever the reason, crying is a powerful nonverbal language. “There are few other ways to say so much in such a brief interval,” explains the book Adult Crying. Tears provoke reactions. 
For example, most of us find tears of sadness difficult to ignore because they alert us that someone is suffering. In response, we may try to comfort or help the one who weeps.
Some experts believe that crying provides a useful outlet for our emotions and that systematically holding back tears may damage our health. 
Others argue that the physical or psychological benefits of crying have not been scientifically verified. 
Nevertheless, surveys estimate that 85 percent of women and 73 percent of men reported feeling better after crying. “Sometimes, I know I need to cry,” explains Noemí. “Afterward, I can take a deep breath and see things more clearly, in their true perspective.”
But this feeling of relief may depend not only on tears. The way others respond to our crying also plays an important role. 
For instance, when our tears move others to comfort us or to help us, we feel relieved. But if the response to our tears is not good, we may feel ashamed or rejected.
Clearly, mysteries about crying remain. What we do know is that shedding tears is one of the intriguing emotional responses God has given us.

Are You “Rich Toward God”?
“So it goes with the man that lays up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”—LUKE 12:21.
We do well to take the lesson to heart. Could we be like the man in the parable—work very hard to make sure that we would have “many good things” yet fail to do what is necessary to gain the prospect of having “many years”? (John 3:16; 17:3)
The Bible says: “Valuable things will be of no benefit on the day of fury,” and “the one trusting in his riches—he himself will fall.” (Proverbs 11:4, 28) 
Therefore, Jesus added this final admonition to the parable: “So it goes with the man that lays up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”—Luke 12:21.
Time is running out, Jehovah’s DAY is coming! The Bible says it will come like a thief in the night. Will you be ready? 
Each one of us has a choice to make, Jehovah, or the world which is run by Satan. Now is the time to side with Jehovah before it is too late.

How Can We Make Our Days Count Before Jehovah?
“Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered, for they are gone forever!”—Lydia H. Sigourney, American author (1791-1865).
Wise use of our time comes only after we are keenly aware of its value. Aptly, Ephesians 5:16 urges us to ‘buy out the opportune time for ourselves,’ and this implies “purchasing” it, forgoing less important things. 
It means reducing time-wasting pursuits. Too much television viewing or surfing of the Internet, reading of unprofitable secular material, or the excessive pursuit of recreation and entertainment can leave us exhausted. 
Additionally, an inordinate accumulation of material possessions can consume the time needed to acquire a heart of wisdom.
We delight to obey Jehovah’s commandments, for doing so is not a burden. (1 John 5:3) 
As we make each day count before Jehovah, we strengthen our relationship with him. We also become a true spiritual support to our fellow Christians. Such actions make Jehovah God glad. (Proverbs 27:11) 
There is no greater reward than to enjoy JehovahÂ’s approval now and forever!

The Ministry of Education directive sets out a program of monitoring families, creating centres for psychological resocialisation and education and using “corrective” measures for “recovery” from “personality deformations”.
Thousands of Witness parents are shocked by the implications of this move by the Russian government and are vitally concerned for the safety and welfare of their children.
The Ministry of EducationÂ’s recommendations echo the program of re-educating dissidents during the Soviet era and the Nazi regime. If this program moves forward on a large scale, it will bring great trauma to the families concerned".
