  1. Usually, if someone is disciplined or reproved, they may have been involved in some type of misconduct, or shown a habit of perhaps continuing in a sin. The congregation would need to be cautious in associating with that person so as not to allow themselves to come under their influence in committing a wrong action. If a person does not accept reproof or continues in misconduct, they can be disfellowshipped. However, others in the forum may be able to explain more clearly. A reason for marking is listed below in 2 Thess 3:13-15: 2 Thess 3:13 For YOUR part, brothers, do not give up in doing right. 14 But if anyone is not obedient to our word through this letter, keep this one marked, stop associating with him, that he may become ashamed. 15 And yet do not be considering him as an enemy, but continue admonishing him as a brother.
  2. This was rather long so I didn't read all of it. In the conclusion of the court, the case was dismissed and sent back to a lower court for review? The allegations is that he was an alcoholic and verbally abusive to his wife and unrepentant. It appears he blames his actions on the fact his 15 year old daughter was disfellowshipped and he was encouraged to put her out of the house? I doubt a congregation would tell a father that. By law he's still responsible for her. If she's uncontrollable, usually the court system or authorities may need to get involved to assist in some type of counseling, etc. If she disobeys the court, the authorities could take custody of her for an extended period of time.
  3. @Jammy, Many do sit on the fence so to speak taking the position they have to stay because they would lose friends they've known all their life or become close to or close family ties; so they are in constant emotional turmoil. That is odd to me for Jesus said we must hate even our own souls to follow him. I would be happy to disown everyone and everything if it costs my integrity to God and Christ or principles I know to be true. Doing what God want's us to do should make us happy, not angry.
  4. I didn't see a Swiss address last month when I contributed online. *My statement or receipt said Wakill, NY, but I'll check on that later this month when I make another donation.
