This book can be downloaded on the website.  It notes “Last updated 2019-11-01”.   Did the writing department suffer another unintended typo?  Does it now say, "Shortly, within our day"?  I haven't looked.

There are many ways to phrase for those that will be around to see judgment day and all its glory. What's your preference. Whatever it is, it can be scrutinized just the same.

The point is, there will be a judgment day, and it seems you are telling people there isn't going to be one. Explain, why you refuse to accept God's word, since the subject is brought up under false pretense?

This would also indicate, you believe the writers of scripture and those that tried to subvert its writing are suspect. Why?

How would you have written the bible to satisfy yourself in order to have people believe in you?

  2. I guess this only applies to people that are not allowed to give out rebuttals to lies, and only a selected few can insult in this forum, since your latter comment is a personal attack and insult, directed at me. Why do you find it a need to fight?

@PudgyC-D67 ….. it’s ok here to insult ideas …. You insult people. You are the only one here that does. THAT’S why you get “special treatment”.

It can't be worse than the bogus agenda driven wokeness by proven lies above defended by another liar. To me, a type-o simply means, unintended. Perhaps I should use simpler words to receive a better understanding, since I used the word "CORRECTED" in my comment.

"The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century." (Wt. 1/1, 1989, p. 12)

The bound volume changed "20th century" to "day".

    Here is the cover-up!

Thank you for clarifying the type-o the writing department made and then corrected on the bound volume. There's no need to reprint technical errors with the digital world now. ZERO cover-up! ZERO credibility on the assertion.

    This is old news!!!

God would never include liars and their lies, to "work together for good" and for His purpose.

True. I'm glad this is mentioned, since I assume it applies here. I have yet to see God designate an earthly representative that has Christ capability of separating the goats from God's sheep. Likewise, I don't believe, there is anyone worthy of that task. The good thing, the GB don't claim to be Christ, but followers of Christ and accept what is written in scripture as God's word. That's why they apply it in their lives and use it as a guide, so others can follow.

I guess this falls under the category of deception from those opposed to the GB. "God would never include liars and their lies." by those that fabricate and utilize their own interest to divide true followers of Christ.

Does this mean, you are keeping track of the people you have knocked off?

Keep in mind who actually started this campaign, and who people defend here as usual. Why is witness still part of your group, I wonder. So, the lies, and deception you are talking about, is about the false accusations people tend to make without evidence. I find the humor acceptable, too, when a circumstance is reversed to understand where honesty lies.

This only works if there is no corruption and honesty. Maybe that's acceptable to you, not me. However, as someone stated earlier on this post, stick to scripture and on topic. Statistics are of no concern.

Read my post more carefully and begin to use your head a little better, especially when, I was just trying to have you explain why "denial" and "lie" are two distinct definitions. You are not serving Jehovah well by acting with such bad behavior.

If you see my post, I'm agreeing with you and Brando that Peter lied. There's no need for you or Brando to encourage further negativity. Are you even Jehovah's Witnesses?

If you're not, I have no need to debate with you.

That doesn't make him wrong, just cultured into the truth of the matter.

  11. *** w19 November pp. 15-16 par. 8 Are You Maintaining Your “Large Shield of Faith”? ***
8 Satan, “the father of the lie,” uses those under his control to spread lies about Jehovah and about our brothers and sisters. (John 8:44) For instance, apostates publish lies and distort facts about Jehovah’s organization on websites and through television and other media. Those lies are among Satan’s “burning arrows.” (Eph. 6:16) How should we respond if someone confronts us with such lies? We reject them! Why? Because we have faith in Jehovah and we trust our brothers. In fact, we avoid all contact with apostates. We do not allow anyone or anything, including curiosity, to draw us into arguing with them.

Denial is lying plain and simple, either because the person doesn’t want to get caught, expose himself or is ashamed, angry, guilt-ridden or distrustful. but

A lie, by definition, is an intentionally false statement. In entails the person knowing that something is false and still saying that it is true anyway. Which is a little different from denial of the truth. Because the person who is denying the truth may not be aware that what they’re doing is false.

Laying foundation is not a dreary task, like filling out a form at a bank. You should always examine your witness in a way that will build interest and anticipation for the evidence that the foundation supports. Approach: Lay your foundation concisely and, if possible, in a way that builds interest in what will follow.

    *** w18 December p. 26 par. 9 Young Ones, You Can Have a Satisfying Life ***
9 God’s love for us is sometimes expressed through fatherly correction. David welcomed such kindly counsel. He said: “I will praise Jehovah, who has given me advice. Even during the night, my innermost thoughts correct me.” (Ps. 16:7) Yes, he meditated on God’s thoughts, making them his own and allowing them to mold him. When you in faith do the same, you too will grow in love for God and in your desire to obey him. You will also gain spiritual maturity and depth. A sister named Christin said, “When I do research and meditate on what I read, I get the feeling that Jehovah had this penned just for me!”

    MATURITY

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT SPIRITUAL MATURITY?

    BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 7:1-26

KEY BIBLE VERSE: The LORD your God will drive those nations out ahead of you little by little. You will not clear them away all at once, for if you did, the wild animals would multiply too quickly for you. (Deuteronomy 7:22)

SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS A GRADUAL PROCESS.

Moses told the Israelites that God would destroy Israel’s enemies, but not all at once. God had the power to destroy those nations instantly, but he chose to do it in stages. In the same way and with the same power, God could miraculously and instantaneously change your life. Usually, however, he chooses to help you gradually, teaching you one lesson at a time. Rather than expecting instant spiritual maturity and solutions to all your problems, slow down and work one step at a time, trusting God to make up the difference between where you should be and where you are now. You’ll soon look back and see that a miraculous transformation has occurred.

    BIBLE READING: Colossians 1:15-29

KEY BIBLE VERSE: Everywhere we go, we tell everyone about Christ. We warn them and teach them with all the wisdom God has given us, for we want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. (Colossians 1:28)

THE GOAL OF EVERY BELIEVER IS SPIRITUAL MATURITY.

The word perfect means mature or complete, not flawless. Paul wanted to see each believer mature spiritually. Like Paul, we must work as wholeheartedly as an athlete, but we should not strive in our own strength alone. We have the power of his Spirit working in us. We can learn and grow daily, motivated by love, not by fear or pride, knowing that God gives the energy to become mature.

THE FIRST STEP TOWARD SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS FAITH IN CHRIST.

Christ’s message is for everyone; so everywhere Paul and Timothy went they brought the Good News to all who would listen. An effective presentation of the gospel includes warning and teaching. The warning is that without Christ, people are doomed to eternal separation from God. The teaching is that salvation is available through faith in Christ. As Christ works in you, tell others about him, warning and teaching them in love. Who do you know that needs to hear this message?

    BIBLE READING: Hebrews 6:1-20

KEY BIBLE VERSE: Let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. (Hebrews 6:1)

SPIRITUAL MATURITY BEGINS WITH THE BASICS OF THE FAITH.

Certain elementary teachings are essential for all believers to understand. Those basics include the importance of faith, the foolishness of trying to be saved by good deeds, the meaning of baptism and spiritual gifts, and the facts of resurrection and eternal life. To go on to maturity in our understanding, we need to move beyond (but not away from) the elementary teachings to a more complete understanding of the faith. And this is what the author intends for them to do (6:3). Mature Christians should be teaching new Christians the basics. Then, acting on what they know, the mature will learn even more from God’s Word.

    BIBLE READING: Hebrews 13:1-25

KEY BIBLE VERSE: May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, all that is pleasing to him. Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep by an everlasting covenant, signed with his blood. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20)

    *** w52 8/15 pp. 501-502 pars. 18-19 God’s Spirit Essential to Maturity ***
18 This question of maturity of understanding immediately follows Paul’s explanation of how the spiritual man can examine and search all things. For he goes on to say, in 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 (NW), that those at Corinth were not yet “spiritual”, but were “fleshly” minded, immature babes in Christ, still only fit for a milk diet and hence in a weak condition, not strong enough to resist the fleshly impulses of jealousy and strife and sectarianism. In the natural way, babies may be the most lovable little objects and surely are so in their parents’ eyes; but that does not apply spiritually.
19 Besides mature understanding as being necessary to learn how to overcome successfully the fleshly impulses, Paul points out at Hebrews 5:11–6:3 (NW) another reason why this maturity is so essential. After saying that a babe restricted to milk food illustrates one “unacquainted with the word of righteousness”, satisfied with understanding merely the ‘elementary doctrines’, then Paul stresses that “solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong”. What a fine definition of what mature understanding means! Therefore let us by all means “press on to maturity”. After having first “tasted that the Lord is kind”, we must not stand still, but must “grow to salvation”. (1 Pet. 2:2, 3, NW)

After Jesus is arrested, he is taken to the home of the high priest. It is well past the middle of the night. Peter gets into the courtyard of the priest’s home without being recognized. In the light of a fire, the high priest’s servant girl who let Peter in recognizes him. “You, too, were with Jesus,” she says. Peter, in fear, says he was not.

The Bible says that later “another girl noticed him.” She said: “This man was with Jesus.” Again, Peter denies it. After a little while, others go up to Peter and say: “Certainly you also are one of them.”

Peter is scared. So for the third time, he lies, saying: “I do not know the man!” A rooster crows. Jesus looks at Peter, and Peter remembers that a few hours earlier, Jesus told him: “Before a cock crows, you will disown me three times.” Peter breaks down and cries. He is so sorry!

  15. 1 hour ago, BroRando said:

Wasn't Simon Peter an Apostle who lied several times of not knowing Jesus Christ?

Peter denied Jesus three times because he feared for his safety, knowing that execution was the probable outcome if the authorities seized him. When Peter uttered his three denials, Jesus’ trial was underway, and it was clear that the authorities were treating him unjustly and that death was imminent. Why do the Gospels record Peter’s denials?

Denial is not the same as stubbornly refusing to admit the obvious. It’s also not the same as kidding yourself about the truth of things. In short, denial is not conscious lying, but rather unconscious protection against unbearable pain.

To Jehovah’s Witnesses, it is a Christian duty to be “in subjection to the superior [government] authorities.” (Romans 13:1) However, when governments try to force them to transgress God’s laws, they follow the example of Christ’s apostles, who said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.” (Acts 5:29) As a result, in a world where tribal enmities and ethnic hatreds have led to shocking atrocities, Jehovah’s Witnesses everywhere, like August Dickmann, pursue peace. They follow the Bible’s exhortation: “Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.”—Romans 12:21.

The Law of Liberty (Matthew 7:1–6 ; Luke 6:37–42)

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions. 2 For one person has faith to eat all things, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The one who eats everything must not belittle the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? 14 The Governing Body is a loving provision and an example of faith worthy of imitation. (Philippians 3:17; Hebrews 13:7) By their adhering to and following Christ as a model, they can echo Paul’s words: “Not that we are the masters over your faith, but we are fellow workers for your joy, for it is by your faith that you are standing.” (2 Corinthians 1:24) By observing trends, the Governing Body draws attention to the benefits of heeding Bible counsel, offers suggestions about applying Bible laws and principles, warns of hidden dangers, and provides “fellow workers” needed encouragement. It thus discharges its Christian stewardship, helps them to maintain their joy, and builds them up in faith so that they can stand firm.—1 Corinthians 4:1, 2; Titus 1:7-9.
