  1. Is it not a contradiction when the Bible says that God cannot test his servants with bad things, but Jehovah tested Abraham's faith by asking him to kill sacrifice his son?

Or how about the example of Job. Was he not "tested" by Satan with very "evil things" which God himself took a wager on with Satan?

“with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone.” (James 1:13)

With the Kremlin (L) and St.Basil's Cathedral (R) in the background Interior Ministry troops cordon one of the entrances to the Red Square in Moscow, on December 10, 2011, during an authorized opposition protest against the alleging mass fraud in the December 4 parliamentary polls. Tens of thousands of election protesters turned out today in Moscow and other major cities across Russia in open defiance to strongman Vladimir Putin's 12-year rule.

  3. According to CDN Calc website Akamai (Watchtower's CDN provider) charges $0.15 per GB transferred. This means that a usual JW Broadcasting monthly episode costs them about 12 cents. Multiply that by several hundred thousands and you get as much as $100,000 per month in CDN costs for a single JWB episode. Even if they somehow negotiated lower prices, it would still be in tens of thousands of dollars ballpark.

Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't: Religious Shunning and the free exercise clause

If you don't trust my link, which would be fair enough, simply Google the following search term as I write it:

    'religious shunning tax exempt'

It should be the very first page that comes up.

  5. The Watchtower teaches that the Great tribulation begins with the fall of Babylon the Great.
But while reading Revelation chapter 16:12, we learn that the sixth angel pour out his bowl on the Euphrates and then verse 16 says "And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Armageddon."
And verses 17 to 21 are talking about Babylon the Great. Verse 19 says that "Babylon the Great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath".
It seems that the fall of Babylon the Great comes after Armageddon.
    How do you explain that?

    Quote

"Suppose you were offered a job to distribute nutritious bread to people in your community. You would neither be paid for your work nor be reimbursed for your expenses. What is more, you would soon discover that most people did not want the bread and that some would even hate you for distributing it. How long would you continue to work at such a job? Feeling disheartened by the people’s negative response, you would probably not have the inner strength to continue for very long. Yet, many of us have persevered in the ministry year after year at our own expense and despite the scorn and ridicule of thankless ones. Does that not give evidence that God’s spirit is at work in us?" - page 31, para 14

What about the part where if you don't distribute the bread or if you don't report enough time spent distributing bread the boss will end your life.

  7. “Happy is the one who keeps in expectation and who arrives at the 1,335 days!" - Daniel 12:12

    ------------------------------------

What is our current understanding of the start and end date for these days?

What is it exactly that will make one "happy"?

Of  sure  Jehovah  is  watching  the  worldwide  weather...  but  HE  is  doing  not  much !  Look  back  to  the  26. Dec. 2004,  the biggest  Disaster, Earthquake & Tsunami  in  Indian Ocean !   Nearly  230,000  humans  died  ;-(    Bible  says,  we  will  get  alot  of  different  Catastrophes  worldwide,  so  we  have  to  live  with  that...  sad  but  true !  To  make  speculations  will  bring  nothings...  Jehovah  does  make  no  differences  among  the  humans,  bec.  also  Brothers  &  Sisters  often  between  all  the  dead  people  ;-(

Are you saying "sand" is more important than "230,000 human lives" in order for "Jehovah's Hand" to intervene?

  9. In the NWT, every time the Greek word "proskuneo" is used in reference to God, it is translated as "worship" (Rev 5:14, 7:11, 11:16, 19:4, Jn 4:20, etc.). Every time "proskuneo" is used in reference to Jesus, it is translated as "obeisance" (Mt 14:33, 28:9, 28:17, Lk 24:52, Heb 1:6, etc.), even though it is the same word in the Greek (see Gr-Engl Interlinear).

Especially compare the Greek word "prosekunhsan" used with reference to God in Rev 5:14, 7:11, 11:16, and 19:4 and used with reference to Christ in Mt 14:33, 28:9, and 28:17. What is the reason for this inconsistency? If the NWT was consistent in translating "proskuneo" as "worship", how would the verses above referring to Christ read?
