The name and title of the Son of God from the time of his anointing while on earth.
The name Jesus (Gr., I·e·sousʹ) corresponds to the Hebrew nameJeshua (or, in fuller form, Jehoshua), meaning “Jehovah Is Salvation.” The name itself was not unusual, many men being so named in that period. For this reason persons often added further identification, saying, “Jesus the Nazarene.” (Mr 10:47; Ac 2:22) Christ is from the Greek Khri·stosʹ, the equivalent of the Hebrew Ma·shiʹach (Messiah), and means “Anointed One.” Whereas the expression “anointed one” was properly applied to others before Jesus, such as Moses, Aaron, and David (Heb 11:24-26; Le 4:3; 8:12; 2Sa 22:51), the position, office, or service to which these were anointed only prefigured the superior position, office, and service of Jesus Christ. Jesus is therefore preeminently and uniquely “the Christ, the Son of the living God.”—Mt 16:16.

Paul said: “The god of this system ofthings has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.” (2 Corinthians 4:4) “The god of this system of things” is none other than Satan the Devil. He is the principal promoter of false worship. “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light,” wrote Paul. “It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers ofrighteousness.” (2 Corinthians 11:14, 15) Satan makes bad things appear good and deceives people into believing lies. 
So we need to proclaim the name of Jehovah! The Truth will known throughout the earth before the end.

BAGUIO CITY—Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) in the Philippines have asked the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to intercede on behalf of Filipinos who face arrest or deportation in Russia for belonging to their faith.
The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of the Philippines, the legal and corporate arm of JW, made the appeal when it met DFA officials this week on behalf of more than 8,000 Filipino Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia.
Hundreds of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia are affected by a warning issued by the Russian prosecutor general about what it described as the JW’s “extremist activities.”

Thank you so much for that beautiful presentation of song 139 ("Sing Out Joyfully" o Jehovah), it certainly brought a tear to eye. My late wife loved this song and I had this sung at her memorial service...........and I am so looking forward to that time when we see that all is new and be with her once again.

Throw All Your Anxiety on Jehovah 
What can we do when we are overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety?  Our loving Heavenly Father came to the aid of his servants of the past, & today he makes it possible for us to gain considerable relief from distress or anxiety. 
The Bible urges us:
6 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time,"
7 "while you throw all your anxiety
on him, because he cares for you."

Consider ways that you can do-so by means of heart felt prayer, by reading God's Word and mediating on it, by tapping into Jehovah's Holy Spirit & by sharing your feelings with a trusted confidant. 

Jehovah's Witnesses commemorate Christ's death as a ransom or "propitiatory sacrifice" by observing the Lord's Evening Meal, or Memorial. They celebrate it once per year, noting that it was instituted on the Passover, an annual festival. This is the only celebration the Bible commands Christians to observe.

Of those who attend the Memorial, a small minority worldwide partake of the unleavened bread and wine. This is because Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the majority of the faithful have an earthly hope. Only those who believe they have a heavenly hope, the "remnant" (those still living) of the 144,000 "anointed", partake of the bread and wine. In 2014, the number of persons who partook worldwide was 14,121, whereas the number who attended was 19,950,019.

The Memorial, held after sunset, includes a talk on the meaning of the celebration and the circulation among the audience of unadulterated red wine and unleavened bread. Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bread symbolizes Jesus Christ's body which he gave on behalf of mankind, and that the wine symbolizes his blood which redeems from sin. They do not believe in transubstantiation or consubstantiation. Because many congregations have no members who claim to be anointed, it is common for no one to partake of the bread and wine.

Jehovah’s Witnesses observe the Memorial after sundown on Nisan 14, according to the reckoning of the Jewish calendar that was common in the first century. The Jewish day begins at sundown and extends until the following sundown. So Jesus died on the same Jewish calendar day that he instituted the Memorial. The beginning of the month of Nisan was the sunset after the new moon nearest the spring equinox became visible in Jerusalem. The Memorial date is 14 days thereafter. (Thus the date for the Memorial may not coincide with that of the Passover kept by modern-day Jews. Why not? The start of their calendar months is set to coincide with the astronomical new moon, not the visible new moon over Jerusalem, which may come 18 to 30 hours later. Also, most Jews today keep the Passover on Nisan 15, not on the 14th as did Jesus in harmony with what was stated in the Mosaic Law.)

Memorial is always held on the first full moon after March 21st. It's always a full moon because Memorial is always held 14 days after the new moon. Hebrew months start on the new moon (the new month). Therefore Nisan 14 is always a full moon (+- 24 hours).

(Rev. 7:9, 10, KJ; John 10:16) These were at that time referred to as Jonadabs. For the first time, in its issue of February 15, 1938, The Watchtower specifically invited them to be present at the Memorial, saying: “After six p.m. on April 15 let each company of the anointed assemble and celebrate the Memorial, their companions the Jonadabs also being present.” They did attend, not as partakers, but as observers.

Embora correta, tem gravíssimas consequências potenciais a decisão da 6.ª Turma do STJ (Superior Tribunal de Justiça), que isentou de responsabilidade pela morte da menina Juliana Bonfim da Silva, de apenas 13 anos, os pais dela, que alegaram motivos religiosos para se opor à realização de uma transfusão sanguínea salvadora. Para o STJ, a responsabilidade pelo trágico desfecho foi exclusivamente dos médicos.
Testemunhas de Jeová, os pais de Juliana, o militar aposentado Hélio Vitória dos Santos e a dona de casa Ildelir Bonfim de Souza, moradores em São Vicente, litoral de São Paulo, internaram-na no Hospital São José em julho de 1993, durante uma crise causada pela anemia falciforme, doença genética, incurável e com altos índices de mortalidade, que afeta afrodescendentes. A menina tinha os vasos sanguíneos obstruídos e só poderia ser salva mediante a realização de uma transfusão de emergência.
Os médicos que atenderam Juliana explicaram a gravidade da situação e a necessidade da transfusão sanguínea, mas os pais foram irredutíveis. A mãe chegou a dizer que preferia ter a filha morta a vê-la receber a transfusão. A transfusão não foi feita. Fez-se a sua vontade.
As Testemunhas de Jeová baseiam-se na “Bíblia” para recusar o uso e consumo de sangue (humano ou animal). Entendem que esta proibição aparece em muitas passagens bíblicas, das quais as seguintes são apenas exemplos:
Gênesis 9:3-5
Todo animal movente que está vivo pode servir-vos de alimento. Como no caso da vegetação verde, deveras vos dou tudo. Somente a carne com a sua alma — seu sangue — não deveis comer.
Levítico 7:26, 27
E não deveis comer nenhum sangue em qualquer dos lugares em que morardes, quer seja de ave quer de animal. Toda alma que comer qualquer sangue, esta alma terá de ser decepada do seu povo.
Levítico 17:10, 11
Quanto a qualquer homem da casa de Israel ou algum residente forasteiro que reside no vosso meio, que comer qualquer espécie de sangue, eu certamente porei minha face contra a alma que comer o sangue, e deveras o deceparei dentre seu povo. Pois a alma da carne está no sangue, e eu mesmo o pus para vós sobre o altar para fazer expiação pelas vossas almas, porque é o sangue que faz expiação pela alma [nele].

Por isso, a minha decisão é não afligir a esses das nações, que se voltam para Deus, mas escrever-lhes que se abstenham das coisas poluídas por ídolos, e da fornicação, e do estrangulado, e do sangue.
Para o ministro Sebastião Reis Júnior, que votou na terça-feira (12/08), a oposição dos pais à transfusão não deveria ser levada em consideração pelos médicos, que deveriam ter feito o procedimento -mesmo que contra a vontade da família. Assim, a conduta dos pais não constituiu assassinato, já que não causou a morte da menina.
A decisão no STJ foi comemorada pelo advogado Alberto Zacharias Toron, que defendeu os pais da menina morta: “É um julgamento histórico porque reafirma a liberdade religiosa e a obrigação que os médicos têm com a vida. Os ministros entenderam que a vida é um bem maior, independente da questão religiosa”.
Então, quem é culpado pela morte da menina que poderia ter sido salva mediante a realização da transfusão? Resposta: os médicos, que ao respeitar a vontade dos pais, desrespeitaram o Código de Ética Médica (2009), claríssimo sobre o assunto:
Isso posto, está claro que a decisão do STJ tem menos a ver com a afirmação do direito à liberdade de crença e muito mais a ver com a primazia do direito à vida sobre todos os demais. Assim, a mãe poderia até preferir ter a filha morta a vê-la passando por um processo de transfusão. Mas a Justiça brasileira, não! E o médico também não!
Agora, vamos aos problemas e aos perigos de uma tão incontrastável decisão, e que já aparecem nos fóruns de debates da internet, reunindo ex e atuais membros da religião das Testemunhas de Jeová.
- Como em todas as religiões, há os sinceros e os “espertinhos”. Os “espertinhos” ficarão tranquilos por saberem que não serão excluídos do grupo religioso se passarem por uma transfusão. Bastará dizer que manifestaram a não-aceitação do procedimento, mas que os médicos fizeram-no contra a sua vontade. “A decisão salvaguarda a hipocrisia”, comentou um debatedor. “Os pais proíbem a transfusão para se eximirem da culpa; os médicos fazem o procedimento para se livrarem de processos e, assim, se condenam diante de Deus no lugar dos pais.”
- Acontece que, para uso interno no grupo das Testemunhas de Jeová, a proibição da transfusão de sangue prosseguirá. Imagine uma mãe que, tendo preferido ver a filha morta caso a transfusão fosse feita, depois de alguns dias, a menina curada, possa levá-la para casa. Que tipo de tratamento essa mãe dará à filha “decepada de seu povo”? Como lidar com as consequências psicológicas adversas, que certamente acometerão as famílias testemunhas de Jeovás que, levando a sério a proibição, tiverem um de seus membros proscritos pela transfusão contra a vontade?
- Para piorar, é razoável prever que muitas testemunhas de Jeová “sinceras” prefiram ficar distantes dos hospitais e médicos, por saberem que a transfusão será feita de qualquer jeito. Com isso, doenças que até poderiam ter tratamentos alternativos (sem o concurso da transfusão) ficarão sem quaisquer cuidados, prejudicando os enfermos e até antecipando-lhes a morte. “Isso sem contar os pais que, desesperados pela realização de um procedimento abominado por Deus, podem simplesmente vir a remover o filho do hospital às escondidas para livrá-lo da transfusão”, afirmou outro debatedor.
Todas essas questões apontam para dilemas que não são meramente individuais, mas dizem respeito à saúde pública. De acordo dados do Censo de 2010 do IBGE, existiam 1.393.208 Testemunhas de Jeová no Brasil, uma religião com crescimento consistente e positivo. Em 2013, foram feitos 26.329 batizados no país. No evento de 2013 da Comemoração da Morte de Cristo, a mais importante celebração religiosa do grupo, estiveram presentes 1.681.986 pessoas.
