At least I have been fully and completely honest. I'll try a little harder to be more unpleasant. 😉 But even when you say I am blatantly lying and lyingly say every sort of untruth and insult about me, I realize where it comes from. It's not really you personally. It's a zeal for God, just not according to accurate knowledge. We must always be learning.

My dear - your arrogance astounds me once again as much as your patronizing ways. You are the one deviating from the bible in addition to twisting ' rephrased lines' from watchtowers to suit your agenda.  Astronomy is not the only way to discover the truth about  530 BCE....
"ancient historians such as Diodorus, Africanus and Eusebius show that Cyrus’ first year as king of Persia corresponded to Olympiad 55, year 1 (560/59 B.C.E.), while Cyrus’ last year is placed at Olympiad 62, year 2 (531/30 B.C.E.). (The years of Olympiads ran from approximately July 1 to the following June 30.)"
The Greeks figured time by means of four-year periods called Olympiads, starting from the first Olympiad, calculated as beginning in 776 B.C.E.
The insight book also has interesting things to say about Olympiads.  I also gave you the name of a book above which indicates that one cannot always trust astronomical writings in ancient time to produce accurate results.  But I guess you prefer those astronomical calculations above that of the bible because it proves your own brilliance and exposes large flaws in JW chronology !!  There is NO way you can be wrong.  JWs must be wrong because you know their weaknesses......  Familiarity breeds contempt !

GB member Anthony Morris and his followers are of those, for sure. His "hatred speech" on JWTV is well known.
Question is: Why haven't you seen the "difference by now"? :))
When people on this Forum go beyond decency and consideration because they are emotional in the passion of arguing, then throwing each other up with “strong” expressions has its fun side that can be tolerated to some degree. However, when a member of the Governing Body of an International Organization makes Public Announcements and Instructions, for JW and non-JW listeners, in which he incites intolerance and hatred towards those who expose the Theological and Business manipulations of WTJWorg, then it can hardly be attributed to a duel between several members of one Forum like this.

CC let them stew in their own " self-importance" and self-deceit....... and go and mislead others.   They will not mislead us.  I have looked at this again and again and found their nit-picking to be without substance.  I have actually lost some  respect for them, that which I had when I started on this forum.
The reason, they only debate, but do not fully understand the main theme of the bible and the importance if the chronology time line as the JWs understand it (with the help of Jehovah) right now.  They give credence to secular scholars but reject the bible's own chronology. This is why they come up with ideas which say that 1914 is bogus, the interpretation of nebuchadrezzar dream is bogus, the signs of 'perousia' are bogus etc. Etc. ...... and some dare to think of themselves as "enlightened" or scholarly witnesses.
JW teachings are crucial to understand the thinking of jehovah and how jehovah cares about us. He wants us to understand where we are in the stream of time to keep active and our hope secure.
Our timeline  fits in with the time-line of the 7 heads of the beast - something which they have not looked at or consider important because they do not accept WW1 and league of nations as a "sign"  they do not accept WW2 and creation of UN as part of the "sign"....  .during perousia..
We are already living under the "image if the beast" ...... which soon will receive more power (like an 8th king) and they do not even consider how this fits into what ithey are debating. They are focussing on only one room of an entire ocean liner (Titanic) while the entire boat is sinking. They are so busy debating about one room that they do not notice the final signs, which is part of this time-line of succession of the "beasts" and image of the beast which takes place during the "perousia".
Then you have " self-heroes like alanf" with his scoffing and name-calling ( like an off-key chorus in the background.)..... quite a crazy way to dominate a conversation...... lol.
Does this bring them in line for life under Jehovah's government?  Definitely not.  This is a futile exercise ........ being an expert in one part of the boat and not taking note of the ENTIRE boat.

César Chávez reacted to Patiently waiting for Truth in Jehovah’s Witnesses File Copyright Lawsuit in Response to Blundering Christmas Album
    https://torrentfreak.com/jehovahs-witnesses-file-copyright-lawsuit-in-response-to-blundering-christmas-album-201225/
( It's all about the money, money, money.... )
Publisher BMG has plunged itself into a copyright lawsuit with elements that are so bizarre it's hard to fathom what the company was thinking of. According to the complaint, BMG illegally used a song owned by religious group Watchtower in a for-profit Christmas album, featuring songs from other faiths, which are set to be sung in cathedrals. Needless to say, Jehovah's Witnesses are outraged.
The problem lies in a song on the album called “Listen, Obey and Be Blessed”, a work owned by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, the supervising body and publisher for the Jehovah’s Witness religious group. The appearance of this song on a commercial album immediately raised alarm bells among the religion’s followers who, through their teachings and knowledge of their faith, knew this track shouldn’t have been used in this manner.

Multiple Blunders Considered Antithetical to The Faith
First of all and despite its attempts to be inclusive, Blessings is fairly obviously an album aimed at the Christmas market. However, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas, believing that the festival has pagan origins. Second, the religious group doesn’t allow its works to be exploited commercially, as per its own interpretation of the bible. Finally, Jehovah’s Witnesses reject all other religions, so being represented as a group alongside them in the album is offensive, to say the least.
Indeed, these topics and more have been the subject of intense discussion on various Jehovah’s Witness forums over the past several weeks. Many followers have been openly wondering why their leaders haven’t been following the rules, or at the least, why they aren’t doing anything to counter this affront to their religion.
As it turns out, those in command knew all about it well in advance and have been preparing a lawsuit.
Well the W/T need to get money back from somewhere to pay all the Victims of CSA.  it seems to just be business as usual for the GB & Co.
But i do find it kinda funny.

I do not have a doctorate - thanks to Jehovah. I do not tolerate the corrupting influence of self-importance.  I worked with about a hundred PHD persons when I was the PR for 13 museums. ... that was enough to open my eyes.  The same  petty and scholarly egotism was something which I also saw between silly opera singers when I worked in this field.
Yea, humans are the same everywhere...... they lift themselves up and pretend to all they are important because of what their job is.  Having a PHD allows them to understand ALL things in life perfectly -  better than lowly sheeple.  They are their job.  (Just like multi-billionaires think they have the right of their money  to decide the future of the world.)
I must say I was not impressed with PHDs in Theology, especially those who wrote dissertations about "freedom fighters in the bible" or moses stealing ideas from sumerians.....and there are some other fields of science which I do not believe are scientific at all but closer to a blind religion with peers which act more like high priests of a cult.
So miss o'Malley....... instead of asking if someone has a PHD, why do you rather not ask if they truly understand the ransom sacrifice of Jesus christ and where jehovah fits into this.  I think this may teuly give them a better chance of receiving everlasting life more than a misleading PHD.
Jesus came for the lowly - not for those in the higher echelons of society. It was the higher society which rejected jesus and the truth.
Since this is supposed to be a bible forum I think that PHDs are not a criteria here.

I agree with @Srecko Sostar exactly on this.
@Arauna you do it every time. You bring out the faults in the people that you serve.
The Governing Body 'lift themselves up' by saying only THEY are the F&DS.  They 'pretend to all they are important' by pretending that are the spokesperson for God and Christ.
'because of what their job is.'  but it is a job and title that they have given to themselves.

That's completely false. You have repeated it so many times it might actually seem true to you now, but it never was. The banning did happen after your words appeared threatening and after a couple of your posts had already turned to profanity. I also received some messages from a moderator here, where I was asked my opinion about whether you should be banned, and I spoke against it (as I always have, so far).
Even though I think banning is only appropriate when threatening and bullying take place, most of your bile and vilification have been directed at me, anyway, and I don't feel the least bit threatened or bullied by you. I'm only embarrassed about the shame you have brought upon those related to me in the faith. But the more you escalate on topics like this one, at least you show others that you can't be taken all that seriously. So it all actually works out better when you remain on the board to expose yourself.

I even pointed him to a website that does Julian to Gregorian conversion, etc., as well as to definitive Watchtower statements about the 539 date. Just what I expected. You can't be bothered because you cannot perform such a simple task therefore how can anyone take you seriously when you post on subjects that you lack any expertise especially any criticisms of Furuli's scholarship. Furuli  has done WT chronology a great service in proving that NB Chronology is unreliable for at least three reasons:
    1. Missing 20 years- 568/588 BCE dilemma
    2. Missing 7 years regnal vacancy of Neb's Kingship
    3. Failure to provide any historicity for the 70 years of Jeremiah
    5. Missing 1 Year/s of Darius ' reign prior or commensurate with the 1st year of Cyrus
NB Chronology i as with all other secular chronologies are likened to simply a chain or a string of beads, each date being a link or unit in a whole. Whereas, WT Bible Chronology is likened to a cable of interwoven strands of four  events each of which lay between two key events in biblical and modern history providing irrefutable proof/ evidence for this scheme of Chronology.

VAT 4956 doesn't include observations from 585 BCE. There wasn't a July eclipse in 585 BCE. The eclipses in 585 BCE are not from Saros 59.
Here, I've labeled more pictures for you. Remember that -584 is 585 BCE.

Remember that -567 is 568 BCE.

    You're again welcome.

Let me try to lay this out for you (although this is more for any interested readers' benefit than for yours). The stars, planets, and Moon are components in a giant sky-clock that keeps perfect time. The 'fixed' stars are like the numbers spaced out on the clock's face. The planets and Moon are like the hands on the clock. Through their cyclical alignments with each other and against the 'fixed' starry backdrop, we can tell the time - the year, the month, the day.
Now, to be a 'competent' astrologer in ancient times, you had to be a competent astronomer. You had to interpret what you saw rather than what you wished you had seen. A bad astrologer would lose his job (or his life) if he faked his observations and his report to the court. It was a serious business involving years of rigorous training from childhood (remember Daniel?).
Not only that, but the Babylonians depended on genuinely dated observations over centuries to develop their mathematical astronomy/'science' that was eventually passed on to the Greeks and built upon by others. How were those observations dated? They used their calendar, i.e. the name and regnal year of the current ruler, the month, the day, even the time of night the observation took place. Any astrological interpretations coming from those observations have no bearing on the veracity of the celestial phenomena they witnessed.
So, when there is a dated astronomical text, we can check those observations, pin them to a BCE date, and hey presto! we can know in modern calendar terms when a king ruled. Thus, the 'stars' are reliable tools for dating kings' reigns.

Most of what CC says is just bluster he finds randomly, evidently by Googling key words. And if it he doesn't quite understand it, he must think others won't understand it either, and therefore he thinks it might impress people. He has pretty much proven that it is almost all fake blustering with him. More than half the time when he adds quotes from some secular reference, or displays a book cover with an impressive title, the source actually give evidence against his theories. To me that indicates that he couldn't have read or understood the sources he quotes from. Otherwise, that would indicate that he is just plain dishonest, so I prefer to think that he just doesn't understand most of what he reads.
Also, if CC was right that these eclipse calculations are not right unless you use his own more stable basis for calculating them, then he is rejecting the very ones that the Insight book uses that will ultimately give you 539 BCE for Cyrus conquering Babylon. I know that because the software I am using gives me exactly 539 BCE for Cyrus and exactly 587 BCE, instead of 607 BCE for the 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar, for example. He probably doesn't realize that if a new calculation was off for Nabonidus or Nebuchadnezzar by even one year, then Cyrus is also off by one year. If Nebuchadnezzar is off by 20 years, then Cyrus is also off by 20 years. You can't get around that.

Wrong. Only parts of the place were buried. Excavations were done on the buried parts. Yet again you demonstrate atrocious reading comprehension. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasargadae
Wrong again. Most of Troy was never buried. It was so badly ruined that no explorers recognized it.
So? There are only dry riverbeds in Sinai. Apples and oranges.
So you actually think that ALL TRACES of 3 million people wandering in a desert wilderness for 40 years could magically disappear. That is called rationalization -- rationalization on a massive scale.
Keep in mind that explorers have searched for evidence of the Exodus in Sinai for well over 200 years. Archaeologists who were extremely eager to find something. Even today, with satellite imaging, eager Israeli and Bible-believing Christians can find nothing. Not even though satellite imaging has revealed all manner of buried structures in Egypt proper.
Desperation to believe in myths is a great motivator for creative rationalization.

Excellent point.  These people are so 'smart' (by their own opinion) that they are like winds blowing hither and thither.  We know what the bible has to say about them....   because they are jumping around from this 'proof to that proof' to get their own ideas across as truth... when everything we need is in the bible. All these secular writings are "opinions" such as the opinions about the diaries mentioned above.
The entire bible is good for teaching in the righteousness of God, making us fully equipped for everlasting life.  And the bible chronology has proven more reliable than secular dates. i.e. the period before the exodus.  the Israelites were in Avaris. The style and rooms of the dwellings are more  Assyrian - like one would find in Haran (the place where Abraham lived before entering the promised land). And these dwelling date from before the exodus and these people were sheep keepers.  There are many other examples but I do not want to open another subject.
That is why I have constantly said here that they want to call themselves MORE than just a regular JW.  They want that label of 'scholar' or something else  because they think it puts them above the rest. They are proud. Constantly calling up old watchtowers to try to prove that the organization is or was  corrupt....... not thinking that they are exposing who they really are. Others here call themselves Christians but basically reject the chronology the bible sets out to accept secular dates which contradict what happened in the bible i.e. dates which put the exile period at only 50 years - not 70.
I have learnt something from these so-called brilliant Christians - I have learnt that they have not worked on building their faith in the bible but trying to be politically correct by appeasing the secular people.....
My analyses of the main theme of the bible itself tells me it is logic, consistent and has continuity and it therefore brings the true reality of god, his purpose and where the world is heading to now.  Its timeline tells me where we are in the stream of time and which prophecy will go into fulfillment next. A brief look at what is happening in the world tells me where we are.  I need no secular evidence to prove to me that the bible is reality!  I learn the thoughts of Jehovah and it gives me insight and discretion to see a fraud a mile away!
