Kick_Faceinator reacted to Pudgy in Millions Now Living Will Never Die! by J.F. Rutherford ??????????? A few questions.
That is not the question you should be asking.
The question you should be asking is this:
"When Jesus was talking to his Disciples, was he teaching "Overlapping Generations?".
    The answer is NO!

I agree with you there ... just as long as I do not have to accept "Overlapping Generations", which as far as I know, was never taught by Jesus, but is taught by the Governing Body.

I am not sure of this claim, because on the basis of which all those who have never believed in Jesus, and belong to the righteous and the unjust, will then be able to be resurrected. They belong to various nations and religions from ancient times to the present day.

I was wondering, If a person that had been disfellowshipped or left the JW Org and now wanted to return.
How would a person make it known that they wanted to return ?  What would be the proceedure since Kingdom Halls are closed ?
How would a person prove that they really wanted to return ?
I've always thought it very sad that when an ex-JW entered a KH, that no one would talk to them.
I would have thought that it would show love to welcome that person into the meeting. However there are no KH meetings right now.  So what would an ex-JW do ?
(I'll await all the hate comments from certain people  )
This topic is not a 'confession' that I want to return.

In the countries where CSA is reported it is mainly because government deparments have investigated ALL religions and clubs etc that involve children being close to adults.  Even charities are investigated for CSA.
It's very strange that the USA doesn't seem to be investigating on a large scale.  Here in UK the Charity Commision and the IICSA have both been involved in deep investigations of CSA in religions.
I believe that the Australian Royal Commision started with the investigation of the Catholic church.

Perhaps Rando thinks that members of "Babylon the Great" deserve more public attention / disgust and more punishment from secular courts. On the other hand, the same kind of sin / crime in WTJWorg should not be an obstacle for JW members to show "understanding" towards their own sinners, and also, God will be merciful because it is "his" people after all.

I get it.  When you read the article, you obviously recognized the seriousness of the wrong committed by the elders.  I would guess subconsciously, you reasoned there is nothing you can do about it, shifting your focus on other religions or atheists to soothe your conscience.  That’s very common for people do.  One thing about this blame-shifting, it helps erase the same problem happening in the org., out of the mind.
God judges those “on the outside”, (1 Cor 5:12) so we must examine the practices of God’s holy priesthood; where a spiritual “Gentile” nation of elders judges them hypocritically, and all JWs. (2 Thess 2:3,4; Rev 13:5-7)   Why, is this sin of neglect toward abuse victims in the org., predominant in the news?  I can’t dismiss the power of God and what Jesus said to his people,  “ For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.”  Luke 12:2,3
“inner rooms” – not only the inner rooms where the GB meet, but judicial committees where elders meet to pass hypocritical judgment against all.
The first sins to be declared and seen, are those of God's people under covenant. Jesus and his disciples always revealed the hypocrisy among their people.  We do the same, since hypocrisy and threatening the innocent ones, breaks God’s laws fulfilled in Jesus Christ.  Ezek 3:18,19; 1 Cor 6:2; Eph 5:11,12; Ps 94:16; Rom 13:9  We have to take responsibility for the actions of our own people, just as Jeremiah did.  Jer. 8:14-21  His righteous conscience motivated him to do so.

Are you saying that God's judgment is more severe against the Catholic Church than toward His holy people " Israel" under covenant - the anointed priests (1 Pet 2:5,9), and GB whom we assume are anointed?  Does God expect your "Gentile" elder judges found to be pedophiles, to receive a slap on the hand, while you expect the clergy of the Catholic Church to receive a much more stringent judgment by the court system?
"So now we call the arrogant blessed; not only are the doers of wickedness built up but they also test God and escape.’” (read further Mal 3:15-18)
"Therefore, every one of you who judges is without excuse. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.  Now we know that God’s judgment on those who do such things is based on the truth.  Do you think—anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same—that you will escape God’s judgment?  Rom 2:1-3

This is the most loving and sensible comment I have read from you.
However, you did note that he repented of his sins, and I would think he was not of the Anointed at the time of his sins.
Now, the colateral damage caused by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Wtnesses, that GB proclaiming to be of the Anointed. Is there such forgiveness of sins for Anointed ones ?  That is not for me to judge. But the GB seem to continue to 'sin' against the Anointed ones and continue to say that only the GB are the F&DS.  Perhaps if they were to step down and repent for their sins, they may be forgiven, that's not for me to judge.

There is a lot of talk about the negative aspects of distance learning in schools. Hours of sitting with a computer, tablets and cell phones. Impossibility of physical contact and interaction under natural circumstances. Occurrences of various psychological problems, even psychosomatic ones. Apparently the real consequences of this “Covid way of life” are yet to be seen in the time to come.
Given that some people around the world are concerned about how children and young people are affected by the virtual way of education, it would be interesting to hear why WTJWorg readily accepts the imposed education communication system in its own assemblies. Although the spokesperson’s statement, in the video, is that the system of religious education is primarily in dialogue rather than in holding lessons from the podium, I think that is questionable. Namely, the JW education system is mostly based on a model of questions and answers after reading the default and predetermined text. And all the text is from a single publisher, WTJWorg.
Does anyone in WTJWorg think that such a virtual meetings, virtual walks from house to house on the virtual streets and the like, will have bad consequences for the spirituality of JW members, now and in the future? With an already existing threat to spirituality due to so many changed doctrinal interpretations and religious practices inside and outside the JW church.

Robert Hendriks has a habit of saying basically the same thing in all his interviews; love of neighbor, love of God promotes the preaching work.  Also, love of neighbor and sanctity of life was the reason for stopping the public preaching work.  Propaganda, shedding a most favorable light amidst the darkness of child abuse from the same organization.
Is it truly love of neighbor to teach someone a doctrine, that is exposed as not true?  How could anyone say yes? It is not love, neither in the preaching work nor in the congregations by the leaders.  It’s like buying a set of encyclopedias from a door-to-door salesmen for your child, thinking they are accurately portraying the reference information needed to aid in your children’s search for knowledge, only to find out that each page holds major lies.  We would consider the salesman whom we bought the set from, a charlatan.
Exactly.  If the foundation of teaching is based on the necessity to continually change doctrine (because the previous doctrine was not TRUE), no one can develop a true personal love for God and Christ. We know them through the knowledge of truth, not through wrong, failed, deceitful doctrines. (Ps 25:5;John 14:6)
Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said:
8 This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me.
9 They worship me in vain,
teaching as doctrines human commands.”  Matt 15:7-9
@JW Insider - People can come into an association with our Christian brotherhood for all the wrong reasons, and never develop a true personal love for Jesus and Jehovah, but this doesn't mean that anyone should claim it was negative experiences in the organization that killed them spirituality. That would negate another of Paul's statements.
Losing one’s spirituality doesn’t result from someone joining for the wrong reasons, when the reasons for the existence of the organization, are already on shaky ground, evident through the twisted teachings of the Wt. (Matt 24:24,25; Col 2:8; 2 Tim 2:25,26; Rev 13:10; Rev 13:1,2,5-7,11,12; 16:13-16; 12:3,4)
It is a place where the key of knowledge is taken away from its members, through the teachings of falsehoods which is called “new light”, “adjustments in understanding”. (Isa 33:6; Luke 11:52)  This in totality, is a negative experience.  So, yeah, people leave because of it and never pursue truth afterwards.  But not all of those joined for the wrong reasons; they joined thinking they had found TRUTH, and were disappointed to learn otherwise.   Others do pursue their spirituality upon leaving, and find truth in Jesus Christ, because they realized they were lacking a spiritual connection in the Father and the Son.   (John 14:6; 1 John 4:6)
God’s word is solid Truth.  Jesus, as the Word, is solid Truth.  How can anyone come to know them OR truth, if it isn’t offered on a consistent basis?  “Living water” is consistent. (John 7:38; Jer 2:13)  The vision of the temple in Ezekiel describes the water (symbolic for life) as only getting deeper. It doesn’t stop at any point, or dry up, as a doctrine of men does; nor is it ever found to cause disease or death of another.  (Ezek 47:1-9; Rev 22:1,2; Rev 8:10,11)
The “bread of life” doesn’t become stale, tossed out for a new loaf. (John 6:48,51) These two sources of “food” in Jesus Christ are expected to be offered by those anointed teachers/”trees” who “remain” in him –through their consistent growing light of truth that LASTS, never rots, never needs to be discarded. (Matt 7:15-20; John 15:1-4,16,17)  Otherwise, the threat to one’s spirituality – one who accepts tainted water or stale bread full of a teacher’s own “yeast”, brings about a spiritual death.  (Matt 16:6)
Good gifts of living water and the bread of life is showing love to one’s neighbor. Wt’s history proves that its teachers do not present good, consistent, loving gifts.
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”  Matt 7:9-12
@JW Insider - (Romans 8:37-39) For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers 39 nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The apostle Paul was connected in truth to Jesus Christ.  The organization is the stumbling block that keeps one from knowing truth, from forming that connection.  If we tolerate shifting doctrine that scripture shows, does not have its source in Jesus, well yes, we have then allowed powers, governors of their government, to separate us from God’s love.  Why do JWs allow men uninspired to get away with it?  Why do they make excuses for their lies?  Why do JWs believe they have truth when scriptures prove they do not? The best way to live up to Paul's words, is to leave the stumbling block behind.   The GB are not sincerely asking for truth from Jesus Christ, because they love their own doctrine, their perversion of scripture. (Matt 7:7,8; Gal 1:6-10; 2 Pet 3:17,18; Phil 3:18,19) What comes out of their mouth proves no connection with Jesus as their Head. (Luke 6:45)  It is Jesus’ words that contain life, not the doctrine of men.  (Eph 4:14,15)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Tim 2:15

Kick_Faceinator reacted to Patiently waiting for Truth in Millions Now Living Will Never Die! by J.F. Rutherford ??????????? A few questions.
@JW Insider Thank you for this fantastic comment above. Very constructive and very informative.
    I like this bit :-
The issues that come into play are about how many non-Christians were expected to be saved through Armageddon. Russell had given his opinion that only a very few would be "slaughtered" and that the vast majority of mankind living would accept the government that came to the fore after Armageddon (and Rutherford had not yet adjusted this view). In fact, as late as 1928, Rutherford could claim that he had not changed "a jot or tittle" from Russell's "Studies in the Scriptures."
Russell must have thought that Armageddon would not be as destructive as some magazines had shown, and that the ones slaughterd would have been on an individual basis, to allow the majority to survive. I am actually of that opinion myself. I like the scripture where Jesus says
    Berean Literal Bible
And Jesus said to him, "Do not forbid it; for whoever is not against us is for us." (Luke 9 : 50)
To me this has a deeper meaning.
I think this is a very sad change of thought, and I don't believe it to be true.
I think this also is sad. And once again i do not believe it to be true to what will actually happen.
We know that 'the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one', but it doesn't mean that all people  in that 'world' are deliberately wicked.
From a Christian loving viewpoint it seems that Russell, and even Rutherford at first, had a very merciful and loving heart. But as the JW Org has 'progessed' it seems to have become a very hardened heart throughout.
Would you be kind enough to tell me the 'official standpoint' / teaching / doctrine of the Watchtower/GB/Org, as to who will survive Armageddon and what Armageddon will consit of.  Or where would i find the answer ?
Thank you once again for your time and patience on this topic.

This comment is totally off topic but it sort of made me laugh when I read it. It does not stumble me in any way because I know the dead do not have a 'soul' that floats off anywhere, but :-

This is not referring to disembodied souls of those who have died. The dead are totally unconscious and do not have a soul that survives death.

Yes, I saw the souls* of those executed* for the witness they gave about Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had not worshipped the wild beast or its image and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand.a And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christb for 1,000 years.    I know it's not a contradiction but it made me smile.

@BroRando Posted yesterday at 07:55 PM Those who are spiritually dying the second death don't believe then and like minded ones today still don't believe. Disfellowshiping a diseased one is a loving thing to do to keep the healthy and faithful free from disease spreading to the congregation.  However one should note, a person who is dying the second death is never redeemed, rather they have been abandoned.
Just like in Jesus days on the earth when he stated to Believers, "Everyone who is Living and exercises faith in me Will Never Die At All." (John 11:26)
Today, there are many dying the second death as King Abaddon orders his angels to bundle up those who are stumbling others.  And that is a very good thing. 😁  Soon the Great Crowd will emerge... Forward March!
    quote from link:
The dead are totally unconscious and do not have a soul that survives death. (Ecclesiastes 9:5; John 11:11-14, 23, 24) Jesus will bring those asleep in death back to life again on earth.
qoute from another link : https://www.jw.org/en/library/books/bible-teach/where-are-the-dead/
Such religious teachings all share one basic idea—that some part of us survives the death of the physical body. According to almost every religion, past and present, we somehow live on forever with the ability to see, hear, and think. Yet, how can that be? Our senses, along with our thoughts, are all linked to the workings of our brain. At death, the brain stops working. Our memories, feelings, and senses do not continue to function independently in some mysterious way. They do not survive the destruction of our brain.
Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (Read John 11:11-14.) Notice that Jesus compared death to sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep in death.”—1 Corinthians 15:6.
Again, how do those who have died live?.... because imaginary Lazarus exercise faith in God and his promises given to Abraham about Jesus, but still died, after all. Stephen and many Christians in 1st century exercise faith in Jesus but they all "fallen asleep in death", as article state.

@JW Insider   Images like this do not seem to make much sense to me.
    https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/g201001/what-is-judgment-day/
    Quote :
Judgment Day will be a period of a thousand years during which humans will have the opportunity to regain what Adam and Eve lost.
If JUDGEMENT DAY is 1,000 years long, and the judge is Jesus Christ, then what exactly is happening here ?
This image happening would have to mean that ALL those people have ALREADY BEEN JUDGED.
I'm getting the feeling that Armageddon and Judgement Day are two seperate things.
This picture looks like Armageddon. But I would have thought that Armageddon was only the destruction of the 'wicked' people. Hence the 'wicked' would already have been judged prior to the Judgement Day.
This image looks to be killing indiscriminatly. So when would this take place ?  Would this be at the end of the 1,000 years, the destruction of all those that would not serve God through Christ ?
It seriously does not make sense to me.

Yes, the Wt. will speak out of both sides of its mouth.  It is up to each one of us, not to men, but men in the organization still use their "power" to label one as spiritually dead.
This scripture is used to support Wt’s disfellowshipping in the w/1981/9/15 p. 2, but notice part of their cited scriptures has been left out:
“Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. . . . If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him. For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works.”—2 John 9-11.
NKJV - “Whoever [a]transgresses (“goes ahead”) and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.”
If someone doesn’t have God, are they spiritually alive, or are they spiritually dead even though they may be alive in the flesh? (Matt 4:4;Eph 2:12; 1 Tim 2:1-7)  If the elders make the call to use this scripture against someone as they have in the article on disfellowshipping, they are saying that the person they are disfellowshipping is spiritually dead - they are without the living God.
The scriptures used to support Wt’s disfellowshipping was to be applied to those anointed who left “the Way” of truth in the apostle's day (Acts 19:9) – those who detached themselves from the anointed Body of Christ, who became arrogant sinners and taught false doctrine - "going ahead" of the doctrine of Christ.  Col 2:19; 2 Tim 3:1-5; 1 Tim 4:1-3; 2 Pet 2:1-3; Acts 20:29,30; 1 John 2:18,19; Jude 1:14-16
“I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.  For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” 1 Cor 5
There is no place within the members of Christ’s anointed body for evil doers; whether physically displaying the traits Paul mentioned, or spiritually as unfaithful immoral “harlots”. (Ps 106:39; Isa 1:21; Rev 17:1-6)  But, according to this scripture, who are to judge the other anointed members of the Body of Christ?  Unanointed elders?  No, the anointed priests under Jesus Christ have been assigned this role.
So right there, we see that the disfellowshipping act by the organization is founded on deceit– invalid in God’s eyes since the organization has shunned the anointed priesthood even inside its walls (2 Thess 2:3,4); yet the spirit-directed organization (idol) has successfully cut off family members, friends, loved ones; telling its members that this practice is to keep THE ORGANIZATION clean.  The idol must appear perfect on the outside.  (Matt 23:25,26)  And without a doubt, it convinces its members that these shunned people, are as good as dead.
Going back to 2 John 9-11, it is clear that the Wt leaders do not “bring this doctrine” of Jesus Christ.  Why?  They teach the doctrine of MEN.  They set rules and regulations, and by "going ahead", they make predictions that do not come true. (Matt 15:9; Gal 1:11) Their spiritual “food”, predictably rots. (Matt 7:15-20) They are the false prophets that Jesus warned would deceive “even the elect” – the anointed priesthood. (Matt 24:24,25)  Wt’s leaders have disconnected themselves from Jesus Christ and his doctrine.  THEY are to be shunned for their spiritual harlotry.  And yet, if they were to repentant, they would be restored to life in Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 5:5)
“He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.”
Without remaining in Christ, producing food that “lasts”, your leaders are spiritually dead.   (John 15:1-8,16)  And what about JWs who spiritually exist on what they offer?  Are they any better off?  (Isa 28:8,10,14,15)
In Wt's eyes, when someone is disfellowshipped, they are cut off from the organization that is preached as the way to salvation.  Salvation is eternal life.  Can you see how the shunned ones are viewed as spiritually dead? Do you not believe that there is no promise of eternal life outside of the Wt?   Yes, it truly is bogus, since leaders who preach lies have no possibility of eternal life, unless they repent.
“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:
"These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you."  Rev 3:1-3

Yes, your spirit-directed organization has been given power to spiritually “kill” anyone who rejects the organization  – who rejects the elder body – who rejects the GB, and who speak TRUTH.
    John 16:2-4
I was a JW, blind as you are for over 32 years.
"Are you personally proving yourself holy with regard to not associating with family members or others who have been disfellowshipped?" Watchtower 2014 Nov 15 p.14
Can you see that the disfellowshipped have lost, according to the elders’ ruling, all “holiness” before God?  Do the unholy/unrighteous inherit the Kingdom?  It is decreed that they are spiritually “dead” until they repent according to Watchtower’s rules.
The elders represent the “image” of the spirit-directed organization. The elders “sit as God in the temple of God” showing that they have the (unlawful) ability to speak for God.  2 Thess 2:4; Rev 13:11,14,15,18
