The Librarian reacted to The Librarian in Earthquake in Ecuador

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake thundered along Ecuador’s Pacific Coast on April 16, 2016. The quake and subsequent aftershocks caused extensive damage and killed more than 650. While the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ecuador was not damaged during the quake, dozens of homes of the Witnesses were destroyed. The latest reports also confirm that one Witness died. The Witnesses have dispatched trucks with food and potable water to the affected area. Two disaster relief committees were immediately sent by the branch office to supervise the initial efforts, and they established two relief centers, one in the city of Pedernales and the other in Manta. Additionally, four representatives from the branch visited the affected zone to provide pastoral support.

The Librarian reacted to The Librarian in 124 Columbia Heights Sold for US $105,000,000
Virtu pays $105M for Jehovah’s Witnesses building in BK Heights

Virtu Financial has closed a $105 million deal with the Jehovah’s Witnesses for a religious dormitory.
The investment company, headed by Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola, has purchased 124 Columbia Heights in Brooklyn Heights, a dormitory building that spans 152,670 square feet, property records filed this week show. The building is one of three that the religious group was actively marketing as it moves its headquarters to Warwick in Orange County.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses are also selling its current world headquarters at 25-30 Columbia Heights in Brooklyn Heights. The third property is a block-long building at 85 Jay Street in Dumbo. Some of the city’s biggest landlords, including Silverstein Properties and Vornado Realty Trust, reportedly bid on the properties. In 2013, Jared Kushner, RFR Realty, Invesco and LIVWRK paid $375 million for a portfolio that includes five industrial buildings and a hotel owned by the religious organization.
Virtu recently made another buy in the neighborhood. In September, the company scooped up a 12-story rental building in Brooklyn Heights for $35 million. Viola’s wife, Teresa Viola, president of invitation maker Maida Vale Designs, signed the deed for 124 Columbia Heights.

Photo shared by @_laviedevanes I just got baptized . After three years of studying and really tough family opposition. My uncles are Catholic Priests and my family are against my baptism. I spent two years sneaking out my house attending every meeting and bible study. None of my family showed up but all of the brothers and sisters that studied with me showed up to see me finally dedicating my lift to Jehovah. Thank you for sharing @jws_worldwide_brotherhood #jws_worldwide_brotherhood

The Librarian reacted to JaniceM in Do people really need to know and use the word "Jehovah" or other language equivalents, to truly know God?
God's name appeared originally in the Bible almost 7,000 times, so I don't think it was God's decision for His name not to be spoken or excluded from the Bible or pronounced only as Elohim/God.

I recall speaking to some Jews and they often refer to God as "The Name" ("haShem").  They will also write G-d, instead of God.  Maybe they felt God's name was too sacred to be spoken or disrespectful to be mispronounced, however, I think it's very disrespectful not to acknowledge God's name or deny even the correct spelling and title of God.  We do have a short form of God's name in scripture, Yah/Jah.  Despite their best objective not to say God's name or keep it hidden, God's name is not entirely lost as they fail to realize, many Jewish names include this short form or sound which they speak regularly:

(Isa'iah) [Salvation of Jehovah]; (Jeremi'ah) [possibly, Jehovah Exalts; or, Jehovah Loosens [likely from the womb]]; (Obadi'ah) [Servant of Jehovah]; (Zephani'ah) [Jehovah Has Concealed (Treasured Up)]; (Zechari'ah) [Jehovah Has Remembered]; Jesus (Greek, I.e.sous’; Hebrew, Jeshua, (Yeshua); Jehoshua (Yehoshua) meaning “Salvation [or Help] of Jah (Yah) [Jehovah/Yehovah].”  (Hal·le·lu jah).

The patriarchs knew God's name.  However, they did not know what God's name meant until God reveal this information to Moses.
Gen 12:7 Jehovah now appeared to Abram and said: “To your seed I am going to give this land.” After that he built an altar there to Jehovah, who had appeared to him. 8 Later he moved from there to the mountainous region to the east of Bethel and pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. Then he built an altar there to Jehovah and began to call on the name of Jehovah.

Exo 6:20 Now Amram took Jochebed his father’s sister as his wife. Later she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of Amram’s life were a hundred and thirty-seven years. (Jochebed means “Jehovah is glory.)

My 6 year old gave his first talk doing the convention invite with his father this evening. His daddy is the life and ministry meeting overseer but he rescheduled it for this week so he could share in his son’s first part on the Ministry School. So proud. He said at least five quiet prayers during the meeting to get him through. Best life ever… Photo shared by @catpurr28

The Librarian got a reaction from Martha Braun Amistadi in Jehovah's Witness Church Release Statement Over Prince's Death, Says He 'Found Fulfillment Sharing His Faith With Others'
The Jehovah's Witness Church has released a statement following the untimely death of Prince, who officially converted to the religion in 2003.

"We are saddened to hear about the death of Prince Rogers Nelson, who was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2003," the church said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

The church said that Prince "found fulfillment as a Witness and in sharing his faith with others."

The statement added: "We do not have any details regarding his medical condition or the cause of his death. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, particularly his fellow worshippers in the Saint Louis Park congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Minnesota. We hope that all find comfort in the Bible’s promise of a future time when death, pain, and tears will be no more.—Revelation 21:3, 4."
