  1. HAHA! I see in your pic your "penguin" attire BUT your casual wear sounds like prison issuance wear. Â Â
  2. Blue. One of the biggest mistakes I made was marrying the wrong person for me but if I fix that then I wouldn't have my wonderful children.  The only thing I would change is I would have eaten healthier and exercised more.  I don't need $10mil to fix that problem, sooo,  now what to do with the money??  Oh I know,  I could buy JTR some happy pants! Â
  3. Thank you for posting such wonderful pictures. I needed that after such serious conversation on other topics. We are part of a WW Brotherhood, doing the same work. We may have different personalities but we are united in love for Jehovah.
  4. Interesting article but bewilderment on solution is evident. Thank you.
  5. Oh that would be awesome! I would guess this was something positive that came out of the ARC interrogations. I remember the "judge" asking that question as to why this couldn't be supported and there was no real reason. That's a Tamar "ring, a rod and the cloak" victory!
  6. I so agree with that statement. I remember an interview with a child molester and he remarked about how naive people are. He referred to commercials with bare bottom children or barely clad children and stated how erotic that was to him. Sickening for sure but their brains are wired to see children and women differently, like sexual prey. I toured a new prison in my area (as it related to my work) and as we were being shown the facility to house prisoners, the officer noted the area for child molesters was separate to protect them from other prisoners. It was an area with round tables and benches, he stated how they would sit around and "talk" about what they had done but it was stated with much disgust. Medical, social experts don't know what to do with them. I have a rather gross but I think effective treatment (ready...) castrate them and then graft their manhood to their ear. Best warning system ever in my opinion and maybe a deterrent. (sorry if I offended, but I really think that would work). I think its unrealistic to think the Elders can keep an eye on them, no way, they are too clever as noted in the Candace case.
  7. Yes, I agree. 20 years ago the victim was most likely re-victimized by the police (who had no training in this area) and if it went to court by the defense attorneys. Girls/Women (and Boys/Men also but not to the same degree) assaulted, raped, etc frequently kept silent because of this revictimization and shame they felt. The two-witness rule doesn't help since perpetrators usually target one person so it's one word against one person. The brothers are not really trained to deal with such a serious matter, much like mental disorders. I do think a victim should be able to have someone in a supportive role with them when they meet with the Elders. Tamar from the Bible is my heroine, she taught me it's a man's world and women just have to be savvy. Speaking in generalities, the greatest threat to a woman's well being is a man (I'm not referring to all men but in general for those of you who want to pounce on me).
  8. Yes I agree!! Please start a new thread. I'm disappointed with the egg and tomato fights here. Â
  9. I have to admit I didn't read all of the info that Anna and Ann plus others have submitted, but the article (submitted above) about what a child molester looks like : http://www.childmolestationprevention.org/pages/tell_others_the_facts.html#georges_story rang true with my step-father (of 50+years - not a JW, married, good income, white) who abused my daughter and youngest son. Back in the late 70s my daughter was about 3yo, I caught him picking her up by putting one hand between her legs and the other under her armpit. I immediately went to him, firmly told him not to do that anymore. My daughter who is now in her 40s claims she can still remember the feeling. 18 yrs later, I relied on my parents for childcare since I had become a single mother and couldn't afford daycare when my son was small. (Both parents were retired at this time.) The abuse began at about 4-5yrs old thru teen yrs. The abuser was so clever, I had no idea for which I have felt deeply guilty. We would sit at family meals (the 4 of us) and the abuser could act like nothing was wrong. My son was weighed down with threats and so remained silent. I thought he was just moody. I didn't find out until my son was 23yrs old when he finally told me. By this time his abuser was dead. My son has left the Truth since he claims he is now Gay. What the abuser takes freely for selfish reasons has a huge cost to others. They are clever and cunning. Good people just don't think the same way perverts do. You just don't want to accuse someone of such serious crime. Education is important and it's unfortunate we can't trust anyone. Children (under 10yo) are now abusing younger children and the government can't do a darn thing about it because of their age. This whole thing is such a mess. They need to castrate the B______ds (crude, I know). I have a RV with an ex-member of the FLDS polygamist group (their leader is in jail for life for sex abuse) and I fear doing an internet search will put them off from learning more from the Bible. I have stopped donating for the ww work because so much money is going to these settlements. I donate to the KH and if they send money to the HQ, that's their business. I feel I should write to the HQ and let them know, maybe that will get them to be more transparent. I came across a quote from the Dali Lama the other day: "A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity." I would send that but I think they would disregard it given the source. I pray to Jehovah that he will direct Jesus to handle this matter quickly and with great wisdom. I pray for the victims and for protection for all children, JW or not. May we all maintain our joy and peace in these troubled times. Love to all.
  10. The Good News of the Kingdom has been preached for a Witness and apparently is a thorn in the government's side. Interesting how our neutrality is such a threat since it produces people who refuse to be manipulated and used by government for it's own interests.
  11. Brother Christensen needs our prayers. At best, I hope & pray this experience provides opportunities to witness to other prisoners. But I am concerned about his care, I'm sure the Russian prisons are not so comfortable as the prisons in the US. When the righteous are pronounced as wicked, this is detestable to Jehovah. Russian justice is clearly corrupt and Babylon's (The Great..) fingerprints are all over the evidence.
  12. Thank for posting this article. Very interesting. The dating is not an issue with me, carbon date calibrating is not an exact science but shows an approximate timeframe. The evidence of multi-worship is far more interesting and consistent with the Biblical accounts as to why Jerusalem was destroyed.
  13. I find it so sad that a young sister took her own life (if it's true). At 24 yo her life was just starting. I can't help but think of a time when I worked for State government at the Capitol (actually the building behind it). A woman was so distraught about trying to get some legislation passed (it had something to do with a victim being warned when the perpetrator was released from prison). Her attempt to find some justice resulted in her going to the top floor in the Capitol bldg and jumping. She had to splatter herself in the rotunda to get attention to her plight. I wonder if this young sister felt the same way. Coupled with the shunning, life must have seemed overwhelming. I left the Mormon church because I didn't like the organizational style (really their teachings, doctrines drove me out first) which is so similar to the Watchtowers, the only difference is that I know the Truth from the Bible which anchors me and gives me hope that Jesus will clean house if there is "something stinking in Denmark". John Bradshaw (author) stated, "you're as sick as your secrets". I believe that. If DF'g is used to protect secrets and not the congregation, many will stumble and some will become active haters. Df'g seems to be our Achilles Heel. BBC just ran a story the other day about 2 DF'd JWs. It was outrageously untrue (i.e.: we DF for not attending the Memorial, leaving an abusive mate, etc) and I noticed it's now posted to Youtube. Could something designed to protect us be the very thing that persecutes us?
  14. To see the DT animated, very interesting. Life is sure changing fast (-:
  15. Thank you for posting such a lovely poem. I can relate to this poem very well. Recently (within the last few years) I was in a deep depression. I would go to meeting arriving just as the song started, sit in the back and leave as soon as the last song and prayer were over. I didn't have the capacity to visit and the noise afterwards was very overwhelming. I just wanted to be in the "Satan Free Zone" as I call our meetings. There were new friends who had moved in and probably thought I was disfellowshipped. I was visited by 2 sisters while out in service and also the brothers made a point of visiting me on a couple of occasions. I poured out my heart to them and they were so kind and put no pressure on me, just let me know I was valuable to Jehovah, Jesus and the congregation using scriptures and gentle words. I love them for that, that is true shepherding (sisters included). I have recovered now and try to pay-it-forward in service and to my brothers and sisters; giving hugs and kind words seasoned with a sense of humor when appropriate. I make it a point to look for those who don't feel included so that I can share the love I have with them so that it may encourage them to keep going. Why should we only be searching for sheep to come through the front door when we are losing so many out the back door?
  16. What a sweet story. Lesson: don't give up when all looks hopeless. Thx for posting.
  17. Hi JW Insider, Interesting point you have brought up regarding the blood issue and Bro Smalley. I can see why he's "out of sorts" being in a position to defend a public policy which is quite different from a personal one. Personally, I choose not to accept the fractions, but I'm 69 yo. I have a copy of a news article from some years back (somewhere in my "stuff") regarding a lawsuit brought against the Society by a daughter of one of our sisters who died from apparent lack of blood. The daughter (not a JW) maintained her mother didn't know her "options". I have had a sense that this lawsuit changed the Branch's "education" on the blood issue. Can you imagine having to defend the 2000 yo doctrine in a modern court with hostile attorneys chipping away with their worldly logic? The fraction education could be the "agreed upon" correction defined by the courts to keep the Branch financially upright. I worked for State government so I know how it works to a certain degree. Fed would come in to examine how their funds are being spent, find violations and part of the reconciliation to avoid large fines was to demonstrate to the Feds how the problem would be resolved with "education" on a certain policy. Sometimes we're behind a rock and a hard place. Satan likes that technique to pressure people to forego our strict belief system, not white to black but more into the grey area. I look at the people donating blood and that's enough to turn me against the idea, then in a pint of blood you have many many donors. I wonder about DNA from all those donors and how that plays into the issue. What if they find even more info about our "human makeup" in the future. There are lots of issues to be resolved, Jesus has been given the responsibility to care for the congregation of Jehovah, so I let him know my concerns and then leave it to him to sort it out. It's so very obvious we are coming to the end of human rule, let's keep our focus on the Kingly government that will set matters straight. Remember Aaron who started to doubt because Moses delayed on the mountain. There was a refining process by Jehovah to let the Israelites and the mixed company get hungry, thirsty and wondering what happened to Moses (i.e. their leadership). I wish you well and send my sisterly love, S
  18. I would say, as far as it relates to humans, Jehovah favors blue since the covering for the Arch of the Covenant, the garment thread and other items were specifically required to be blue. Sometimes blue was mixed with scarlet and purple threads.
  19. This was such a nice video of the Kiev Convention. I can understand why it was taken down now that the new Russian law has gone into effect as of 7/20/2016. I'm so happy Jehovah provided the convention prior to the new law. Let's all pray for our dear brothers and sisters. May Jehovah be praised and show his mighty hand in their behalf!
  20. Futility of life without hope of a resurrection was stated by Paul ..."let us eat, drink, for tomorrow we are to die", drawing from Isaiah 22: 13 "Let there be eating and drinking, for tomorrow we shall die". This laissez faire attitude continues down to this day and is probably the most dangerous mindset since it goes against the urgency of making oneself right with Jehovah God.
