Ouch! National Spelling Bee Burns Twitter Troll With Brutal One-Word Comeback

A Twitter troll learned Thursday that’s it’s probably a good idea to spellcheck tweets when attacking the National Spelling Bee.

During Thursday night’s competition, Kyle Chapman tweeted a foul-mouthed complaint to the organization.

Unsure of why the national spelling bee has a "comfort couch" you fucking lost suck it up quit teaching kids it's okay to lose @ScrippsBee

The tweet attracted so much attention Chapman briefly took his Twitter account offline, according to Deadspin.

He later restored it, changing his bio to read “catch me on CNN,” in reference to the media coverage he had received.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie for the third consecutive year Thursday night, with Jairam Hathwar and Nihar Janga declared co-champions after a roller-coaster finish.
