My wife is intelligent enough and wide awake enough to KNOW what she heard said from the platform, BUT as usual a JW has to throw insults as the only answer they have.
TTH was saying something about building up, not knocking down, but JW's that dislike a comment on here just have to be negative to the one that has written the comment. Not even constructive criticism, just insults.
SO WHERE IS THE LOVE IN YOUR BEING INSULTING ?
Come on then, take on JTR Jr's challenge and tell us all what wonderful NEW things you have learnt from the convention.
I would not even waste my time or fuel money going there.

My wife went to the Friday morning session just to please one of her daughters. When my wife came home she said she had learnt that 'wisdom' is bad for you. At least that was what the brother on the platform was saying.
My wife was most upset by that 'talk' basically saying not to learn anything. Or only learn from the Org. Even she can see how bad the talks are getting. They seem to be really pushing this idea of not getting a good education.

And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

"Everything is yours" - every gift within the Body is a benefit to each member..."There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.  There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone each one, just as he determines.   All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines."  1 Cor 12:4,6,11

This is as far as read.  You continue to be so blind!  "Empty speeches" are foundation of your organization.   As an example, "Millions Now Living Will Never Die"

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written, He catches the wise in their craftiness  1 Cor 3:19
In this case, Paul is speaking of “wisdom” of the “crafty” religious leaders; as an example, the Pharisees who misled the people with their “worldly” wisdom added to the law.
For whenever someone says, “I belong to Paul,” and another, “I belong to Apollos,” are you not acting like mere humans?     What then is Apollos? What is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, and each has the role the Lord has given. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
He refers to God’s spiritual House/Temple in the anointed ones. 1 Pet 2:5,9; 1 Cor 3:16,17; Eph 2:20-22  Of course, within the Watchtower are those who believe they are “wise” and have labeled themselves before Christ has returned, as “faithful and discreet”, and all eyes fall on the GB to lead them. It is so blatantly seen by some on this forum.    Paul says that each member of the body is just as precious as the other, in their apportioned roles.  Rom 12:3-8  This is not the case in the WT.  The GB and their role, is the only role to acknowledge.  Matt 24:48-51
“Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool so that he can become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written, He catches the wise in their craftiness; 20 and again, The Lord knows that the reasonings of the wise are futile. 21 So let no one boast in human leaders, for everything is yours— 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come—everything is yours, 23 and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
He is saying that within this anointed Body, their only Head is Jesus Christ. Eph 4:15  However, all JWs “boast” in their human leaders.  They must, or they are threatened with disfellowshipping,  by the employment of craftiness.  Rev 13: 11,15
JWs are totally immersed in the “wisdom of this world” that their human leaders provide for them.  They have become “fools” for following this wisdom.  It is not too late to become wise, according to the teachings of Christ.  Proverbs chapter 4

What I like about the JW organization is that they’re unafraid of verses like 1 Timothy 6:20: “O Timothy, guard what is laid up in trust with you, turning away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from the contradictions of the falsely called “knowledge.” For making a show of such [knowledge] some have deviated from the faith.”
Everyone else embarrassedly pretends those verses don’t exist, fearful lest they be seen as narrow and restrictive, the worst of all possible sins in today’s world. Watchtower applies them, unconcerned with how the world will react, so long as they discharge their scriptural responsibility to warn against specious reasonings. They want Christians to “attain to the oneness in the faith and in the accurate knowledge of the Son of God...in order that we should no longer be babes, tossed about as by waves and carried hither and thither by every wind of teaching by means of the trickery of men, by means of cunning in contriving error.”  (Ephesians 4:13-14) It is a stand that takes guts, that exposes them to sneering ridicule, and to absurd charges that they want to “control” people.
Once Witnesses have taken a position not to let “the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from the contradictions of the falsely called “knowledge” such as is the lifeblood of this world’s education, dictate their world view, then they “cherry-pick” its offerings for what is truly useful, and obviously, some is.
I wouldn’t mind if they dropped the line that some go to higher school “to make a name for themselves,” since most don’t. But some do. It is what it is, and there is no need to scream over every little thing that does not go your way. What I like is that the JW organization cautions strongly about not putting oneself in the 24/7 unfamiliar environment that is “higher education”—cut off from all former stabilizing influences (a classic tool of brainwashing) so as to be indoctrinated by the latest “wind of teaching” designed by those who think faith is for chumps.

I learned that Scott Adams is peeved when you bend his work to further your inane and incessant complaints about the Witness organization—complaints that he knows nothing about and would not side with you if he did.
It is inherently more noble to build something than it is to take the wrecking ball to it. Everything about him suggests that he sides with those who build, not those who demolish.
Few Witnesses have any problem with their GB. Most greatly appreciate their work. The line that invariably brings the greatest applause at the Regional Convention is “Would you like to send your greetings to the brothers at Bethel?” Conventioneers look around themselves and everywhere see evidence of that group’s hard work. What! You think that Scott Adams will buy that they clap because they “have to?” No. He knows the machinations of loons when he sees them.

To expand on your analogy .... "If it looks like a Duck, walks like a Duck, and sounds like a Duck ..... it's a Duck!"

This is like when I “borrowed” Scott Adams’ car to travel to the Odd Duck convention in my fair city so as to make the point that you would be an excellent candidate for this year’s Duck. As I was hauled away in the police cruiser, I hollered. “What about the important points I have raised?”
Your dopey points have been made and addressed countless times on this forum, by me and others, and you didn’t have to hijack Scott’s work so as to run them still  through one more time.
This is the fellow who thinks that you are backward for still believing in God. Not only does he dislike the 85% that you dislike—he dislikes the other 15% as well. An odd ally for you.

Oh dear @BillyTheKid46 That Romans scripture is talking about the Superior Authorities of the world. The secular authorities. It is not talking about the GB or any other religious leader.
Of course we all know that the JW Org / Watchtower deliberately misused that scripture for many years, but even they have got it right now. A shame you haven't got it right though, you must be living in the past.

@James Thomas Rook Jr. Unfortunately they are not employees however. There focus is the commission in terms of spreading the truth. Reasons why people are seeing more and more JWs on the positive side because of when it comes to the commission, that is the only group they profess in terms of organized religion, more so, when it comes to money, people will point out if the money is in majority used for the commission, they will not see a problem, and this is the general public concerning this faith community.
That being said, if the general public who are not religious sees this, something is indeed taking place. Especially in the face of brazen conduct that is literally through the roof.
They're at 8.5 adherents by the way, and apparently still growing.

We do want to be fair about this Srecko .... since the Watchtower Lawyers and Accountants are now serving as Bishops to the Pope, er...  "helpers" to the Governing Body, and our theology (blood fractions, overlapping generations, and confiscation of all global KH resources, etc.) is being dictated by them, including court cases and the pursuit of Justice .... they may have very legitimate business reasons to , after carefully giving MANY scriptural reasons why "Old Truth" was the word of God, and now with just as many reasons  the "New Truth" is the word of God, to completely rework and redefine our theology.
Give 'em a break now and then !
They are trying to run a global business here with 8 million employees, and they are trying VERY HARD not to use SPECTRE and the organizational acumen of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, affectionally known as "Brother Hans", because as we have read before in the "Questions From Readers", the Governing Body HATES cats.

Dear Tom, do you think there are those on here that wish to kill the whole JW Org / Watchtower Soc ?
I for one do not want to see the complete destruction of JW Org or W/t. I thought I would make that clear to you and everyone else. Only God through Christ will make the judgement of the JW Org and Watchtower soc.  If  God and Christ want those two organisations to stand, then stand they will.  However, to myself and others, it is plain to see that the GB will need replacing or reproving, and the JW Org / W/t will need cleansing.
The Nation of Israel was shaken about and cleansed many times, but it still stood whilst God wanted to use it. Do you think the JW Org / W/t soc cannot be treated the same way ?
So will God / Christ put the true Anointed into power in the JW Org / W/t Soc, or will God / Christ completely replace those organisations with a new Org ?  It is not for us to guess or judge. But we do know that ALL false religion has to be destroyed.

It is a mix of both granted of what was seen in the other thread.
None of us, but depending on what the person has done, decisions can be made to take action, as is with Jesus' church in the past.
But you must take into account what Jesus himself has commanded and entrusted his church, especially concerning wrongdoers, either in the ignorant sense and or those who do sin willfully. If someone wants to enter back into the church of the Christ, the community must be informed and those who are in religious office should make the decision of whether this person can enter back into the fold when it was known he or she had been excommunicated.
Actually it is, when actions can and or has effected the community as a whole.
But you do this freely and when this was brought up there is an excuse, at this you should be honest to yourself in this regard.
    How so?
Not necessarily. If a person is trusted, why must one judge them?
That is within the reaming of loyalty, responsibility and trust.
Exactly, but the thing is in older discussions you yourself have judged.
Can you give an example? For he must have said this because you can say this, but the discussion between the two of you may be entirely different.
Not really because there are those who misguide others, who will not enter God's Kingdom, especially when not putting into application what it means to be Christ like and to apply the fruits of which is vital for Christians to apply.
That being said, op's directive is regarding those who exploit forgiveness and repentance, as in, a man can sin willfully, repent in the face of the faith community, only to enter back into the fold to sin again, as is that is what can be drawn from his response to billy in the other thread.

There seems to be a cross over here between asking forgiveness from a person, and / or, repenting to God through Christ.
Who of us is really capable of judging others ? God has judged. Jesus Christ can judge. But us humans are all sinners so do we have the right to judge if a person is repentant to God ?
It would seem that in the JW Org, men, Elders, are given the right to judge others. But what exactly are those Elders judging ? They cannot judge whether God or Christ has forgiven a person's sins. Elders can only judge if a person has basically apologised to the JW Org. Repentance attaining to forgiveness from God through Christ is of no one else's business really. In my opinion (which most on here seem to disagree with  ) a person has to make their own peace with God.
My point here about judging others, is not about judging who one should mix with etc. Because we all need to judge in that way. Most people judge who they will trust, or who they will spend time with, maybe even to the point of who's vehicle they will travel in for safety. But surely it is not our place to judge on God's behalf.  For instance Billy the Kid has judged that i will not receive forgiveness from God or Christ. In my opinion that is going beyond the things written.

    NADA
    GOOSE EGGS
Besides, under United States Copyright Law, it is legal to use someone else's work in it's entirety if it is for the purposes of satire.
That is why Michael Jackson never sued Weird Al Yankovich for using his music in its entirety to Jackson's "Beat It", for Yankovich's production of "Eat It"
If there is not already the label of "Third Person Ad-Hominum Attack", I am creating it here, just to have a label of your invoking the personage of Scott Adams to divert the discussion from issues that really matter!, to try and castigate me.
The issues I highlighted are what is important! ... not me ripping off  today's Dilbert Cartoon, which I did, and it is quite legal to do.
Sigh ..... now I have to try and find a cartoon of someone that looks like you, that I can redo as the lovable but agenda driven character "TTom Ad Hominum".

In most cases, the reason to attack the head is to kill the body.
It is the game that Russia plays. The country has banned, not Jehovah’s Witnesses, but the organization that they use. Everybody knows that the intent is not to kill the “head,” but the “body” that is directed by it.
The policy is so disingenuous that ordinary people, like the cops, legitimately cannot understand the difference. They simply pursue a mission to take out Jehovah’s Witnesses.
One wonders whether Scott Adams would approve of his work being ripped off to attack a people he probably has no beef with and may even admire. I suspect he would not approve, though he may be too preoccupied to pursue the matter.
He defends Trump, someone who he sees as representing ordinary people, and someone who he thinks is for that reason under continual, often ludicrous attacks, on every conceivable pretext. The attacks, he thinks, come from those who despise the common people, a group of “educated” elite who are “wise in their own eyes” but not in reality, and the ones that these “elites” have managed to indoctrinate.
No, I think he would not approve of people stealing his work to promote their own bizarre agenda. He is not one to go in for manufactured “us against them” scenarios, such as the ones malcontents use against JWs. He sees right through them and is likely to equate them with the non-stop attacks on the president that he thinks is standing up for the common people. That president gives ample evidence of being human. Scott does not attack him on that account. He defends him despite some flaws. If he were ever to devote his attention here, (a big if) I think he would draw parallels that would go the way of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and not their incessant attackers.
This is not to say that JTR is one of those who want to “kill the [Jehovah’s Witness] body.” He is more like the one who saws off the branch on which he sits, confident that only good can come of it.
