Melinda Mills reacted to Evacuated in Why does Jehovah God forbid tattoos?
Maybe my earlier answer wasn't clearly stated.
    No. He does not.
If anyone wants to explore the matter further and to get some guidance on how appropriate the modern (secular) fashion for tattoos would be for Christians then try:

Melinda Mills reacted to The Librarian in Are Jehovah's Witnesses a Religion?
Judge J.F. Rutherford created many ideas in his tenure as President of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.one of those is this one:

RELIGION is a SNARE and a RACKET 1939
When, in WWI, the brothers sought exemptions on religious conscience grounds, they could not convince local draft boards they had any formal religion or coherent beliefs because Pastor Russell had been totally against ORGANIZATION.There was no formal statement of orthodoxy and all I.B.S.A. (International Bible Students Association) members were democratic in believing whatever they pleasedlater, in 1929, Romans 13.1 was cited for refusing civilian service.Jehovah’s Witnesses claimed they were not a religion; just a bible society and they further decried their label as pacifist because they were total advocates of War of the great day of God the Almighty. In 1937 in the book Enemies, J.F. Rutherford made his position clear:“ Strange as it may seem, the two words "Christian" and "religion" are diametrically opposed one to the other. ”The greatest racket ever invented and practiced is that of religion.Clearly this was a tactical mistake that could cost the Society three kinds of important exemptions.
Religious exemption in time of war for JW ministers whether full or part-time. Tax exemption for Watch Tower corporations. Real estate exemption for Watch Tower property holdings (including Kingdom Halls) A reversal of position was vitally necessary.President Rutherford died in 1942. Now it would not directly embarrass brother Rutherford if tax exemptions were sought. To avoid loss of exemption it had become necessary to finesse the absolute statements of President Rutherford when applying for the above exemptions although none of it was made public until 1950 in a book written by the former Vice-President of the Society and Attorney, Hayden C. Covington. In his book, “Defending and legally establishing the Good News”:
“The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc., is incorporated under the laws of the State of New York for charitable, religious, and scientific purposes. The unincorporated bodies of persons known as Jehovah’s witnesses hold in common certain religious tenets and beliefs and recognize as their terrestrial governing organization the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc.By their adherence to the organization of this religious corporation, the unincorporated body of Jehovah's Witnesses are considered to constitute a recognized religious sect.” --Vol.II Opinion No.14, National Headquarters, Selective Service System, November 2, 1942.
“The fact is, they have been recognized by the Selective Service System as a religious organization and are entitled to the same treatment as the members of any other religious organization...” - United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, in Hull v Stalter, 151F. 2d 633 (1945), said:
It should also be noted: for the record that as early as 1934, the Society's corporations sought Tax Exemption as charitable and benevolent societies.
"By orders of the commissioner of Internal Revenue, United States Treasurey Department, under dates of November 9, 1934, March 22, 1935, April 24, 1935, April 23, 1938, September 1, 1942, and June 17, 1946, Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc. (a New Yourk corporation) and Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society (a Pennsylvania corporation), were held to be entitled to exemption from the making of income tax returns under the Federal Internal Revenue Act because such societies were charitable corporations engaged in religious activity. ...have been declared exempt also from the payment of taxes on real estate owned and used by the for carrying out the chartered purposes of the societies because such societies are benevolent and engaged in religious activity."

@Eoin Joyce     Nice discussion. Had those two texts in mind when I was writing but decided to leave them out.  It is just a discussion.  We all have preferred viewpoints and the scriptures support some of them, but we will all learn in the future.
Love this part of your comment:
"This allows for a wide variety in the personal visions individuals may cherish on what conditions will prevail in the paradise earth to come, but in no way allows for an imposition of such views on others where there is no clear Scriptural basis. By the same token, the relatively harmless views of others should be respected, regardless of any perceived naivety on the part of those who feel their more educated perceptions deserve higher credence. "
I did not commit to everything the author said  but I do believe that animals as well as man can exist happily without having to kill and eat meat. Jehovah has limitless wisdom and there are other ways to keep down animal and insect population besides predation.
Lots of things the Bible says are perceived as naïve, even the fact that the system will have an end.
However, Jehovah's way will prevail when the time comes.

Just came across this on the Internet.  What I wrote above are my own conclusions, but I wanted to see if anyone else had this view.

Sounds wonderful but it is fake news. As well as news about Trump welcoming Russian Witnesses to US.
Here how to recognize fake news:
"Notice how the site name looks like abcnews, but is ACTUALLY ab . cnews?
If you go to ABCNews website you wont find that sotry.
This site is also connected to te1egraph.com - also FAKE NEWS. again note how the name is close, but not real?
You can also go to the WHITEHOUSE.gov site - https://www.whitehouse.gov/blog and see his recent itinerary. You wont see anything about a visit to a kingdom hall."

..even today, serpents are learning proper theocratic behavior, as envisioned by the Society's Lawyer who came up with the whole idea in the 1930's.
Below is an early color photo of the evidence he had to propose the ideas we hold today ....

As I come from Africa I have often thought about it.  Some animals were created to "clean" up after others such as eating carrion.... to keep the earth fresh and clean ..... and animals will still be dying in areas where humans are not around. (Adam and Eve knew what death was because animals were/ and will/ always die when their life force runs out.)
Many animals provide a useful service....  We may have areas set aside as animal sanctuaries where animals roam free but do not harm humans when they see them. .... or animals may only catch other animals and not touch humans.......Before the flood, the fear of man was not in animals.... Jehovah put it there after the flood.  Genesis 9:2 " 2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; "  This was the time when Jehovah gave them permission to eat animal flesh... so animals would fear for their lives as they knew they would be hunted.
As 1Cor 13 says : 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.  We cannot really understand these things now.
All I do know is that some of these paleontologists are not very smart - one can see they have not lived with animals because they do not seem to have observed anything. Take the T-Rex... it's eyes are on the side of its head.  Plant eaters usually have their eyes on the side of their head.  Predators on the other hand have their eyes looking forward so they can focus on the prey.
I also have seen that most predatory animals are taught by their parents how to hunt.... the perfect killer skill is not natural.  There are only a few species which are natural born killers.
Plant eaters tend to herd in numbers....... and they have found groups of footprints (T-rex) in North and south America.....  The large teeth are no surprise...... think how large the plants were during the time when the earth was a green house (when the earth still had its canopy)....
So all things are speculative - I guess we will have to wait and see.

It is not a bad idea that when doesn't have the slightest idea about something to say "I don't know".
    I don't know!
BUT.. I can GUESS out the wazoo without being intellectually dishonest if I clearly label what I say as a WILD GUESS ... which I hereby do.
The following is a WILD GUESS!
I believe HE believed this is what was happening, but the tenses of the verbs may have been mangled in translation. I know of NO scientific principle that would explain what superficially is said to be happening  ... it it is probable that I would know.

What you have observed if it was true ... is EVOLUTION.  Future generations are shaped by what happens to existing generations.
If this were true ... after 4,000 or more years ... all Jewish males would be born circumcised.

But Jehovah would have purposed that the nipples be there so it would go into the DNA of the human or whatever species.    My husband had freckles on his nose and my son  has them too.  I had a burn near  my right thumb from pulling off a pressure cooker cover when I was about 10 and you can still see it.  My son was born with a mark there too.  Says something about the copying of the parents characteristics and features.  I don't quite understand the science, but Jehovah knows why he put the nipples in the first man; and personally think they are attractive in a man as well. Look at a body builder!
I think Jehovah engineered it that way because the man and the woman are the same species and the hormones then make the difference. But if he did not put it in the man how could it go into the DNA to be copied to the children?  This is my simplistic way of explaining it.

And when we guess that one about nipples, we will then get on to navels, and over and over again. Old women say what is in the old goat is also in the kiddie, and vice versa. But then again we are also told not to listen to tales that old women tell.

Melinda Mills got a reaction from Anna in Matt 24:14 Fulfilled?
(Matthew 9:37, 38) Then he said to his disciples: “Yes, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
Are we saying that the Master of the Harvest does not know when to end it? and we have to awaken him?
(Matthew 24:44)44 On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it.
We won't be able to work out when this day will come. See that Jesus said at Matthew 24:44. It will happen at a time we do not expect. Verse 36 says no man would know the day or hour (or year for that matter).  We have to be ready.  It is simple.
Jehovah God will give his Son and the angels the command to reap the harvest at the time he decides. (We must not minimize his role in it.)
(Revelation 14:14-16) 14 Then I saw, and look! a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Another angel emerged from the temple sanctuary, calling with a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud: “Put your sickle in and reap, because the hour has come to reap, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” 16 And the one seated on the cloud thrust his sickle into the earth, and the earth was reaped.
So whether a GB member, Bethelite, elder or whoever said it is fulfilled, it is Jehovah's harvest and he will intervene when the work is done TO HIS SATISFACTION.
