I do not see that in this scripture. That is your assumption, and is perfectly fine to have that opinion, but it does not change the fact that this is not said here. What is said is that one should be humble and accept direction to those who are taking a lead. Nothing is said of administering any sort of punishment.
Return to whom? men or God? To men, yes. To God, no it is between them and God and not a group of men. That is my whole point.

What on earth do you mean "nevermind" ? As if that is some side note. If Jesus commands it, then it is God's will. Not some extra bonus that God gives us to do, it is commanded.

You do know that this is not what is written in the Bible, right?

You must not be aware of some statements made by the GB:

"To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it." Watchtower 1983 Feb 15 p.12
"These overseers faithfully seek to apply instructions received from JehovahGod and Jesus Christ by means of the faithful and discreet slave and its Governing Body." Watchtower 1990 Mar 15 p.20
    "Come to Jehovah's organization for salvation" - Watchtower 1981 Nov 15 p.212
The Watchtower 1975 Sep 1 p.531 asks "Where could we turn if we would leave God's organization today? There is nowhere else!
"But if we were to draw away from Jehovah's organization, there would be no place else to go for salvation and true joy." Watchtower 1993 Sep 15 p.22
"They must appreciate that identifying themselves with Jehovah's organization is essential to their salvation." Kingdom Ministry 1990 Nov p.1
"And while now the witness yet includes the invitation to come to Jehovah's organization for salvation, the time no doubt will come when the message takes on a harder tone, like a "great war cry."" Watchtower 1981 Nov 15 p.21

Who runs the WT? The GB, that's who. Who writes and/or approves the messages? The GB, that's who.

So you believe that the law was not within their heart and Jesus didn't really mean what He said?
Also, what is your take on Jesus speaking about the thoughts within their heart?
Was this just mistaken and worded incorrectly by John?

Martha’s story is in the Return to Jehovah brochure which came out in January of 2015.  Martha claims to have been inactive for 40 years before she returned to the WTS.  If that return was in 2014, the year before the brochure came out, she would have been inactive from about 1974.
Returning to the WTS is also called returning to Jehovah by JWs, but it is also called returning to the truth…..a word that becomes rather fluid among JWs since it doesn’t ever refer to the truth of their teachings.  One has only to look at what WTS teachings were 40 years ago when Martha became inactive, to what those teachings are today.
The world was going to end in 1975……obviously not the truth.
There were no more spirit-anointing going on to fill the ranks of the 144,000….not true any more.
The 144,000 were the faithful and discreet slave…….not true any more.
The faithful and discreet slave was appointed over all the Master’s belongings…….not true any more.
The other sheep were the belongings of the parable at Matthew 24:45-47…….they’ve been elevated to domestics now.
The generation of Matthew 24:34 would be remembered by Martha as being, beyond question, worldly people, as described in the wt:

"The actual meaning of these words is, beyond question, that which takes a generation in the ordinary sense, as at Mark 8:12 and Acts 13:36, or for those who are living at the given period. So it was on this generation that the accumulated judgments were to fall. (Matt. 23:36) This therefore means that from 1914 a generation shall not pass till all is fulfilled, and amidst a great time of trouble." Watchtower 1951 Jul 1 p.404 This teaching has gone thru three changes since Martha became inactive.  I wonder if she would recognize the current “overlapping” scenario as being “the truth.”

interesting interpretation. I look at other scriptures that speak about the heart and I just can't fit the idea you presented into the scripture. For example why would Jesus use the phrase "in your heart" if it didn't really fit?

Luke 5:22 " Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?"

Surely, Jesus knew that the thinking portion of our bodies is not the heart but rather our brain. Did Jesus mean just close to the brain?

    Or how about here:
John 5:42 " but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts."
Was Jesus really saying that the love of God could be in a human heart?

Then why did Jesus command the disciples to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." All the nations could not associate with one another and they would still certainly be scattered.

Come back to what, Anna?  And who’s forgiveness do we seek? Is it the organization and under man's decision of acceptability and worthiness?  Or do the scriptures say we repent and come back to God and Christ?  God isn't the organization, is he?
Isa 46:5 - “To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal And compare Me, that we should be alike?”
John the Baptist told the Jewish people, to repent of their wrongdoings, never leading them to an organization, but preparing them for Christ.  Jesus' message was to his own people, to repent.  They did this by recognizing who he was and his salvation for all of us.  Matt 4:17
Should we equate salvation with what man has built, or should we respectfully give credit of salvation to Christ and the Father?
1 Cor 7:23 - "You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men."
We become "slaves of men" when putting our salvation in their hands, as if they are the ones who read our hearts.
Jer 17:10 -  "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.

    Ps 139: 23-24 - "Search me, O God, and know my heart;
    Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting."
Rom 8:27 - "Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God."
The Catholic Church uses a false priest and confessional, becoming mediator between man and Christ.  The Watchtower uses false priests, called a judicial committee, and the back room, becoming mediator between man and Christ.

How is this statement accurate in light of scripture?
    Ch. 1 par. 9
9 How will God’s Kingdom come? When we pray, “Let
your Kingdom come,” we are asking that the Kingdom take
decisive action. When the Kingdom comes, it will exert its
full power toward the earth. It will remove the present wicked
system of things, including all man-made governments,
and bring in a righteous new world. (Dan. 2:44; 2 Pet. 3:13)

I can see how Daniel applies to an extent, but the 2 Peter 3:13 does not. What did Jesus say?
    Luke 17:20&21
"Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

How do you reconcile this book with scripture?

Aranua, I think you were replying to me on this post. I don't think I am leaving YHWH out of anything, but rather it is the men who call themselves elders who have left YHWH out of it and took it upon themselves to determine who is repentant and who is not. I mean, think about this for a moment, Who establishes the "rule" or criteria for how long a person must "study" WT material before they can be baptized? Is it YHWH or is it men? Looking at the Bible, specifically Acts 8:29-39, what did the Ethiopian have to do? What were the requirements for him? None, but yet there are these requirements made by men within the Org? How about the requirement to show up late and leave early for meetings to prove your repentance to the elders, if one were disfellowshipped, and for how long must one be under this bondage to be considered "good enough"? Did Jesus require this of the thief next to Him in Luke 23:42&43? What was the requirement?

Doesn't Hebrews 1:3 say that Jesus is the EXACT representation or image of God? Not just like, or a representative, but exactly. There isn't a way that Jesus is not exactly like His Father.
    "3 He is the
reflection of God’s glorye and the
    exact representation of his very
being, and he sustains all things
by the word of his power. And
after he had made a purification
for our sins,g he sat down
at the right hand of the Majesty
    on high."
How can you say that Jesus is anything but God?
Should we not see it just as it says? Jesus is exactly the same in nature, the nature of God Himself.

actually that is not what it says. The thoughts make no difference here on Earth after they have left as they cannot interact with those still here, thus they are forgotten. Ecclesiastes 9:5 talks about what is being done "under the sun" It is repeated many times and in each instance it talks about what is being done "under the sun", meaning while we are still alive on Earth. Some examples of this are :
Ecc 1:3  " What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? "
Ecc 1:14 "I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
Ecc 2:8 "I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me."
Ecc 4:1 " Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed— and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors— and they have no comforter."
Ecc 6:12 "For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone?"
Ecc 9:6 "Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun."

The verse you mentioned says nothing of the dead being unconscious, but rather their thoughts are meaningless to those who are still here.

That scripture confirms my point, Eoin.  It was mankind, not angels, who had been wicked.  Angels are not even mentioned, only humans.  The Lord said he was sorry he had made man, not angels.
Genesis 6:1 Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 The Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Your posts ARE expressing your personal opinions, Eoin.
And you're still saying the same thing you've been saying all along, i.e., it really doesn't matter if the Gentile times ended in 1914 or not.
By extension, then, it doesn't really matter to you if Jesus did not become King in 1914, the Messianic kingdom was not born in 1914, the presence of Jesus did not begin in 1914, and no inspection took place between 1914 and 1919, therefore no appointment of a faithful slave took place in 1919.
Someone once said that it was wise to examine not only what you personally believe but also what is taught by any church you may be associated with.  Of course this also may not really matter to you either.
Perhaps in your next segment  you can explain why ships have lifeboats.

Even though it would mark a turning away from what they had said was the truth, I don't think the men on the WTS GB would consider their actions to be apostasy, even though that IS their definition of it.  More likely it will read something similar to the presentation of changed beliefs used in the 11/15/2016 WT:
For many years, this journal suggested that the times of the Gentiles ended in 1914 and "the one who has the legal right" to the Davidic crown, Jesus Christ, became King in that year. However, for reasons that we shall outline in this article and in the one following, a re-examination of the subject was necessary.
The scripture this puts me in mind of is not found in Hebrews.....it's in 2 Timothy 3:7 "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Well, I'd be among the last one to tell you to keep clinging to an incorrect teaching such as the Gentile times ending in 1914, and it's good that you're open to changing your belief about it, even expecting to do so from the sounds of things.  That's the thing to do, isn't it, when a teaching you believed was based on the Bible turns out to be based instead on the speculations and expectations of men.
So, the Gentile times did not end in 1914, Jesus did not become King in 1914, the Messianic kingdom was not born in 1914, the presence of Jesus did not begin in 1914, and no inspection took place between 1914 and 1919, therefore no appointment of a faithful slave took place in 1919.
You can see the domino effect dropping 1914 would have, which might be why it hasn't been changed yet.

    Methinks you are projecting, Allen.
You stated, "Your salvation is incumbent to following God’s laws and commandments"
It was shown that the apostle Paul disagrees with you. If following God's laws and commandments would save people, there would have been no need for Jesus. Because nobody can follow God's laws and commandments properly, everyone is condemned. That's why, according to Christian doctrine, everyone needs Jesus to be saved.
You also stated: "The WTS has never implied they hold salvation."
Again, three posters have provided numerous official Watchtower pronouncements demonstrating that you are mistaken.
You may deflect and project all you like, but it doesn't change reality.

These are not my words, and because they aren’t, you might want to retract the following comment you have made referring to the person who has kept her word.

I see also you are trying to make a point in your large use of letters. My comment was, that the scriptures in Deuteronomy should be considered.  It was with confusion that Jackson answered the lawyer when being pressured, which proves those scriptures had not been given any consideration by the GB.  Holy Spirit would have moved them to do so and abolish their dogmatic stance of “two witnesses” in all situations by acting on compassion and guidance by Christ.

What you have to say is your opinion, and that is fine with me.  It still does not negate the quandary that the organization, which has built its foundation on lies, (think pyramidology and 1914, etc) now deals with, when facing the governments for their failed misrepresentation of victims. They freely use the government for their own needs to reach an end that favors the running of the instrument, but fail greatly in accepting its authority for those who need representation for offenses made against them by their own leaders.  This fact will not go away, and these facts are sins against God, who will expose them in the manner he prefers.

My application may appear off mark only because it is by love that one can recognize how God’s sheep have suffered.  You care for logistics; I care for the sheep.  You care for an earthly corporation viewed as belonging to God, I care for Jesus’ words which say,

“You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.  But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:22-24

What obligation does Psalm 48:12-14 place on us? Regardless of how long we have been in the truth, we must tell others about Jehovah’s organization.  W 15/7/15
Do you see the conflict between man's words and God's?

Worshiping in spirit is through Christ, presenting ourselves “holy and acceptable”. Rom 12:1 Worshiping in truth is through Christ. John 14:6 Worshiping through the organization is through men and their failed ability to judge in righteousness.  There is no earthly Zion. Read all of Ps 48 to see the truth about Heavenly Zion.  Heb 12:22

“I will scatter you like chaff
driven by the wind from the desert.
    This is your lot,
the portion I have measured out to you, declares the Lord,
    because you have forgotten me
        and trusted in lies.
I myself will lift up your skirts over your face,
and your shame will be seen.
     I have seen your abominations,
your adulteries and neighings, your lewd whorings,
on the hills in the field.
    Woe to you, O Jerusalem!
How long will it be before you are made clean?”  Jer 13:24-27

    Hmm.
But they were literal trees, right?
Why, after A & E sinned, did the ToL have to be guarded if it was just a symbol? Why not remove the symbolism of the tree and make it ordinary instead? If sinful A & E had got to the ToL and eaten its fruit, what would have happened?
Genesis 3:22-24 - Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad [This was after eating literal fruit from the literal tree - Ann]. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever,—” 23 With that Jehovah God expelled him from the garden of Eʹden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken. 24 So he drove the man out, and he posted at the east of the garden of Eʹden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously to guard the way to the tree of life.
