This ties in with what I expounded on earlier.

Everything we can see through telescopes of every sort, is the "vicinity of the Earth".

I good thought experiment to prove this is as follows:

If an Astronaut is on the Moon, on Mars, or on one of the asteroids in the asteroid belt ... or living snugly on one of the moons of Saturn, does Satan's influence still affect them?

Of course it does ... and through mishap or accident they may die there, or in transit.

THAT ..... defines what Jehovah refers to as " ... the vicinity of the Earth."

So, the "Earth" (as opposed to the domain of Jehovah, Christ, and Angels, etc.) is EVERYTHING we can see when we look up.

As an aside ... Jehovah always considered sterilization a misfortune, or something lamentable, so the idea that after Armageddon, we will fill the Earth, and suddenly become sterile is nonsense.

There is a LOT of Real Estate out there, folks ... and humans LOVE to explore and colonize.

    "LOVE to explore"

Except the Holy scriptures, and give ear to those who did.

    Currency manipulation.

But it's the kind of manipulation that keeps things calmer during a crisis when someone might otherwise hear about that little bank in Middle-of-nowhere, Kansas that failed, and which then triggers an infectious run on other banks.

This may be the case in many countries. The capture below shows how some coins are minted in The Republic of South Africa.

Nothing is too hard for Jehovah. As Bro Rook has said, the person would have to die first to be resurrected. Just as persons who have been atomized, persons who have been eaten by animals and fish, persons who died in the sea, etc., are going to be resurrected to life on earth where we can see them and associate with them, so will any persons in God's memory who will have died in space.

Remember a space ship blew up in 1986 (Challenger, I think) with several persons on board. Don't think it was very far out of earth's atmosphere but a good example still of people who did not die on earth.

Wherever death occurred, Jehovah can undo it.  The universe belongs to Him and his Son. who has been entrusted with the resurrection, has it as his inheritance.

The message sent wasn't clear enough - sorry. It was merely a thought about those who do not pay attention to Jehovah's words at Psalm 115:16). "As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, But the earth he has given to the sons of men." The world isn't much concerned about what the Bible says in this respect. Not many even read it, or even believe what it says. I was wondering - not about their being resurrected, but whether they will indeed, be resurrected. Ignorance about what the Bible says is no excuse, its available over most of the world. I was wondering whether Jehovah WOULD consider resurrecting any who may die on other planets. They are already planning to colonise Mars.

Has anyone heard of the following:

To avoid passing on sicknesses to others, or as a precaution, when someone holds offers their hand to greet us, we in return should put our hand on our shoulder then hold out an extended elbow to indicate that we are avoiding contact with our hands.

Being in an old age home, I thought it worthwhile telling workers about the 'elbow' method of greeting to avoid touching with the hands. While doing so, one of them said that they had been doing this for some time. In fact, they even added another method. (Perhaps to avoid all bodily contact.) Each would thump the inner side of their right foot against that of the other person. Well, well, well, we learn new things nearly every day.

It's a good question. But be careful if you are asking this question publicly in your congregation. You might not realize that this question was once near the top of the list of red flags to identify apostasy. Also, it can get mixed up with another question that was, for a while, at the very top of the list of red flags to identify apostasy: "Where in scripture does it say that any Christians were NOT of the anointed?"

The reason is that it was The Watchtower saying that all the first century Christians were of the 'anointed', those of the 144,000.

There is a reason why most of Christendom believe they are going to heaven. At the home where I am, all know that I'm deaf. So, whenever I inquire about residents who are no longer seen, they point upwards. Besides Matthew 5:5 most of the Greek scriptures are about going to heaven. (Matt 6:20; 19:24; Mark 10:21) The gathering of the anointed was an important purpose of Jesus work. "Declaring the good news" was the other. (Luke 4:43).

Yes, it would be right to believe all he taught, with no excuses.

Hebrews 1:1 Long ago God spoke to our forefathers by means of the prophets on many occasions and in many ways. 2  Now at the end of these days he has spoken to us by means of a Son,....

So that means that we should now concentrate to learn from the Christian Greek scriptures.

Consider the experience of a brother named Peter. In 1970, he was 19 years old and had recently begun serving at Bethel in Britain. Peter was preaching from house to house and met a bearded middle-aged man. He asked the man if he would like to understand the Bible. The man was a Jewish rabbi, and he was shocked that a young man thought he could teach him the Bible. To test Peter, the rabbi asked, “So, my boy, what language was the book of Daniel written in?” Peter said, “Part of it was written in Aramaic.” “The rabbi,” Peter remembers, “was surprised that I knew the answer—but not as surprised as I was! How did I know the answer? When I went home and checked the Watchtower and Awake! magazines from the previous months, I found an article explaining that Daniel was written in Aramaic.” (Daniel 2:4, footnote) Yes, the holy spirit can help us to remember information that we have read and put in our treasure store in the past.—Luke 12:11, 12; 21:13-15.

    The power of knowledge!

Indeed, we should concentrate on the Christian Greek scriptures. Our Scriptures Daily do. But unlike Christendom who call the Hebrew text, "The OLD testament", we believe that to be a misnomer - Which in turn, proves that they are rejecting an important part of Jehovah's word. Some of the prophecies are yet to be fulfilled.

Have you notised that JWs usually express it saying "be in the truth", but apostle Paul usually said instead to "be in Christ". Why this difference?

    Here an example:

Romans 16:3 Give my greetings to Prisʹca and Aqʹui·la, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,...7 Greet An·dronʹi·cus and Juʹni·as, my relatives and fellow prisoners, who are men well-known to the apostles and who have been in union with Christ longer than I have…..9 Greet Ur·baʹnus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my beloved Staʹchys. 10  Greet A·pelʹles, the approved one in Christ. Greet those from the household of A·ris·tobʹu·lus. …..16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the congregations of the Christ greet you.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth...". He is the bread that came from heaven. The "Way" refers to the path to follow to everlasting life, which the early Christians referred to as being a Christian. The narrow path. See John 14:6; Matt.7:13.

From the Watchtower Library link @Srecko Sostar provided above.

“This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel: ‘Jehovah the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name to eternity, and this is the memorial of me to generation after generation.” (Ex. 3:13-15) We, therefore, have the Creator’s own words for it that his name is Jehovah.

Um, not exactly, because the name Jehovah would not have been used.

YHWH does not translate to Jehovah.

Whenever they came across the tetragrammaton, JHVH, they studiously substituted the Hebrew words

Quite funny as when I studied with JWs I was told it was YHWH but this W/t link says JHVH. Um, which is actually right I wonder ?

The Tetragrammaton is the four-letter Hebrew word יהוה, the name of the biblical God of Israel. The four letters, read from right to left, are yodh, he, waw and he. While there is no consensus about the structure and etymology of the name, "the form Yahweh is now accepted

Jehovah (/ɪˈhvə/) is a Latinization of the Hebrew יְהֹוָה, one vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה (YHWH), the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible[1] and one of the seven names of God in Judaism.

The consensus among scholars is that the historical vocalization of the Tetragrammaton at the time of the redaction of the Torah (6th century BCE) is most likely Yahweh. The historical vocalization was lost because in Second Temple Judaism, during the 3rd to 2nd centuries BCE, the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton came to be avoided, being substituted with Adonai ("my Lord"). The Hebrew vowel points of Adonai were added to the Tetragrammaton by the Masoretes, and the resulting form was transliterated around the 12th century as Yehowah.[2] The derived forms Iehouah and Jehovah first appeared in the 16th century.

"Jehovah" was popularized in the English-speaking world by William Tyndale and other pioneer English Protestant translations such as the Geneva Bible and the King James Version.[3] The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops states that in order to pronounce the Tetragrammaton "it is necessary to introduce vowels that alter the written and spoken forms of the name", resulting in "Yahweh" or "Jehovah".[4] It also remains in use by the Watchtower Society translators of the New World Translation, and appears in the still-popular translations of the American Standard Version (1901) and the Young's Literal Translation (1862, 1899), but it does not appear in current mainstream English translations, some of which use Yahweh but most continue to use "Lord" or "LORD" to represent same.[5

Food for thought. Would the true Anointed use Jehovah or Yahweh ?

Fantastic news. Perhaps Almighty God will cleanse the JW Org by removing the GB and replacing them, and removing the lawyers too. If God wants that database handed over it will be.

I agree with James on one thing 'I am deeply ashamed for the reputation of Jehovah'

Does anyone on here really think this is good for Almighty God ?

Is it good for the preaching of the GOOD NEWS ?

And do you really think Armageddon is close ? Ah, maybe you think Armageddon will get the GB/JW Org out of this mess.

I think LUKE 17 v 1 fits very well here.

“It is unavoidable that causes for stumbling should come. Nevertheless, woe to the one through whom they come!"

@Anna & @TrueTomHarley and others, please get your heads out of the sand and see the true reality of your GB and it's Org.

The truth is Almighty God has to either cleanse the JW Org, or, start a new one. And the JW Org does have some truth in it, deeply hidden but it's there.

Instead of discussing this matter, will it not be better to leave it to Jehovah, the supreme Judge whose laws and judgements are always righteous. (Psalm 119) In his eyes, whoever commits one sin is in effect guilty of all. Compare David's fornication with Bathsheba. Although his repentance was accepted, he had to be punished. (Ex 37:6,7)

What are you trying to prove by dragging up old topics ?

Cases cannot be proven unless names are given for police or others to investigate, that is obvious.

By hiding over 20 years of information it shows fear in the GB and it's lawyers. If your GB had any faith at all in God or Christ, it would 'go the extra mile', and try its best to clean up the JW Org. But no, they continue to hide the information.

I have the internet link to the original article published by dailymail.co.uk on this topic, as well as a document about Jehovah's Witnesses' secret data base. But, like you, I also don't believe it right to drag up old matters, which may be read and misunderstood by those who are not baptised Jehovah's Witnesses.

Always moving - the speaker likened it to wind and air.  Loved his analogies. A good listen.

Thank you! You correctly guessed my age which is 88 and turning 89 in February 2012. I am fortunate to still be able to walk up steep hills.

I have a wonderful spiritual brother to assist me in our regular ministry. The scripture below being true.

  14. My knowledge of the Bible was meager back in 1956 when I studied with anointed brother Andrew Jack. I remember how he guffawed when the topic came to "The Holy Ghost. One conjures the image of a specter in the vicinity. We had the privilege of occasionally inviting him to have lunch with us. (Matt. 10:42) Many years after we moved to East London on the South African East coast we met him again when he was on leave. We again had the privilege of taking him for a ride up and down the Nahoon river in our small boat.  Brother Andrew Jack finished his earthly course a few years later.

@JW Insider One thing for certain, that reminds me of a time, a few years back one summer, I was on a small missionary tour with 2 other people, we had a call from a woman who wanted to do the Bible Study at her house and the subject matter was about the parables that Christ gave, more specifically regarding the Sower. The place she was dwelling it was called "The Tree House", and quite literally, the second you entered that apartment building, every corner, every turn, the stairwells, the elevators, the marijuana scent was there. Of course the only sign of relief was the windows, and the only person who had issue with this was one of the people that were with us, so technically, wherever there was an open window, we posted up there for a bit before continuing.

Other than that, for me personally, I see marijuana as a danger, so for a guy like me, seeing it being legalized in parts of the US is both confusing and baffling, but the decision is for them to make, and sometimes there is always a price to be paid.

The document appended was downloaded when the use of marijuana was allowed.Marijuana effects.docx

On return to the congregation in Southern Wood East London, South Africa he did an about turn in a letter to the local Daily Dispatch newspaper apologising to the people he called on during his field ministry, for spreading false good news. He felt that the elders who refused to attend to the needs of people on the outside, or something to that nature. I wasn't present when that particular meeting. He became politically involved, often submitting letters to the Daily DIspatch.

  18. The wheels of Jehovah's chariot will never stop making speedy turns in all directions.

Their appearance and structure looked as though a wheel were within a wheel.  When they moved, they could go in any of the four directions without turning as they went. Their rims were so high that they inspired awe, and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around.  Whenever the living creatures moved, the wheels would move along with them, and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels would also be lifted up.  They would go where the spirit inclined them to go, wherever the spirit went. The wheels would be lifted up together with them, for the spirit operating on the living creatures.
