admin reacted to Isabella in The Star Trek Enterprise is Insanely Huge
And this is microscopic 😅
A team of physicists at a university in the Netherlands have 3D-printed a microscopic version of the USS Voyager, an Intrepid-class starship from Star Trek.
The miniature Voyager, which measures 15 micrometers (0.015 millimeters) long, is part of a project researchers at Leiden University conducted to understand how shape affects the motion and interactions of microswimmers.
Microswimmers are small particles that can move through liquid on their own by interacting with their environment through chemical reactions. The platinum coating on the microswimmers reacts to a hydrogen peroxide solution they are placed in, and that propels them through the liquid.

U.S. reports 125,000 new coronavirus cases, setting world record for the 3rd day in a row
To put it into context, last Friday was when the US hit 80k then 90k for the first time.
Now casually hitting 100k isn't a big deal.

admin got a reaction from Emma Rose in Flower of life
This part was really interesting:
THE HISTORY OF THE FLOWER OF LIFE
The Flower of Life is a fascinating and ancient symbol. It has been found to hold significance in multiple cultures all around the world as the Flower of Life symbol is seen in ancient manuscripts temples, synagogues, and art. However, it was only dubbed as the 'Flower of Life' quite recently in the 1990s.
The oldest known depictions of the Flower of Life were found in the Temple of Osiris in Egypt and date back to at least 6 000 years ago, and recent research has concluded that they could not have been made earlier than 535 BC. These depictions of the symbol are fascinating because they were not carved into the rock, but rather burned or drawn onto the granite with red ochre with great precision. Some believe that the symbol could have been used to represent the Eye of Ra.
Leonardo da Vinci was known to have studied the Flower of Life pattern and derived the five platonic solids, as well as the Golden Ratio of Phi, from the symbol.

Leonardo was into everything it appears. LOL

admin got a reaction from Srecko Sostar in Title Change (and an added bonus)
I changed the title of this website to .ORG as you can see above.
I needed something multilingual / multinational.... and understood by many cultures and languages.
It also can cover various organizations and belief systems from around the world.
I like learning from everyone discussing topics on a wide range of topics.
Enjoy everyone.
Let me know if I can be of more help.
@admin
p.s. - You'll notice that uploaded video now plays the same as Facebook and Twitter etc....
The one thing that differentiates this site to those is that we don't try to keep you only on our platform. You'll see easy share buttons to every social media out there so that you can post once... and share ad infinitum.
p.s.s. - Language is obviously a challenge for all global websites. I am trying to keep us all on one site rather than many different language sites. You should see a google translate button on the right hand side to assist with that. I know it's not 100% yet.
p.s.s.s. - The site is now translated for use by the main language groups in the theme itself. I will continue to try and expand it as more experts help me out.

A powerful earthquake has struck off Turkey's Aegean coast, north of the Greek island of Samos, officials said. The tremor of up to 7.0 magnitude struck off the coast of Turkey's Izmir province, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said, and was felt as far away as Athens and Istanbul.

admin reacted to JW Insider in Water has been definitively found on the Moon, Nasa has said
OH!
Some of what looks like water is actually "OH" not H2O, and this hydroxyl can be a real "OH-OH."
The link you gave mentioned:
But it was unclear whether that hydrogen was in the form of hydroxyl – the chemical that makes up drain cleaners – or in the form of H2O, or water.
The NIH.gov site cites a biochemical journal about hydrogen peroxide (HOOH), which adds this:
. . . to generate hydroxyl radicals (OH.) from H2O2 has been investigated . . .
And all this, of course, was presented, just as a setup for the old H2O2 joke:

Can't keep workers working if their kids aren't at school
If children aren't in school parents are taking time off work to look after them. If people aren't working the economy isn't growing. Politicians will say the priority is children, but it's always about money.
