Srecko Sostar reacted to Witness in Matthew 24:34 "this generation"
At least in that case, everyone could recognize it for what it is, a puppet show.  And who is pulling the strings?
I am sure you will take my words with a grain of salt, but I offer them to any who care to read.
Two ‘generations’ have been in existence since the beginning; two “seeds” becoming apparent since Adam; a righteous as well as a wicked generation.  Gen 3:15
There are two fathers generating “seeds”.
    Satan – Deut 32:5; Acts 2:40; Matt 12:39,
    with his spirit within them - Eph 2:2; 1 John 3:12; Rev 16:13; 1 Tim 4:1
"You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.  John 8:44
God, the Father to the righteous – Ps 112:2,
    with God’s spirit within their heart. 1 Pet 1:23; John 1:13; 1 John 5:18; Matt 10:20; Gal 3:29
“so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”  Phil 2:15
Both are present until Christ returns.  Prophesy concerns both seeds that have generated/regenerated over the centuries, and will not “pass away” until prophesy (God’s word through Jesus and all the prophets) concerning them, is fulfilled.  Matt 24:35; 5:18
“Righteousness” dwells in one’s heart – the ‘new heavens and new earth’ where righteousness dwells concerns the anointed who have been sealed ‘in the heavens’.  2 Pet 3:10-13; Eph 2:6; Heb 12:22,23; Phil 3:20
Since the GB disregards the true spiritual meaning of “this generation”; the day will come upon them “as a thief”.  They teach physical manifestations as the “sign of the Son of Man”, led along by the father of the lie.
“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1 Cor 2:12-14
Their record of consistent failure and readjustments shows what dwells in their heart; it certainly is not any understanding from Christ.  They are a part of the prophesy warning of such ones, that Jesus said would be fulfilled. Luke 21:8; 2 Thess 2:1,2; Rev 3:3; 16:15; Matt 24:43; Luke 12:42,45,46; 2 Thess 2:9,10; Rev 13:13,14

I'm not speaking for any of the other persons who have questioned it, but the only scripture that was used is this:
(Exodus 1:6) 6 Joseph eventually died, and also all his brothers and all that generation. The problem is that this scripture does not support what Brother Splane is saying. In fact, it more likely says exactly the opposite. Just look at the context to see that "all that generation" refers to Joseph and his brothers and all those who were alive at the same time as all of Joseph's brothers. It did not include all of Joseph's parent's generation, or his children's generation, or his grandchildren's generation. In fact, if you back up just 10 verses in the Pentateuch, you read in Genesis 50:23:
(Genesis 50:23) Joseph saw the third generation of Eʹphra·im’s sons, also the sons of Maʹchir, Ma·nasʹseh’s son. They were born upon Joseph’s knees. The third generation was contemporary with Joseph "born upon Joseph's knees, in fact. But they were not in the same generation as Joseph. They were, just as it says, the "third generation."
But first there is an even clearer reason to see that this explanation is wrong. In fact, Brother Splane accidentally ruined his entire explanation using his own words in the talk. Listen closely to the video above from the point marked 2m:38s to 2m:53s. These fifteen seconds prove that his reasoning is false.
    He says:
But now what did Joseph and his brothers all have in common? They were all contemporaries. They had all lived at the same time. They were part of the same generation. So a quick test: Was Joseph Rutherford part of that first group? Was A. H. MacMillan? Was W. E. Van Amburgh? The answer is YES, according to Brother Splane, at the point from 7m:38s to 7m:54s in the video above. Who else was part of that second group? At 11m:16s to 11m:28s, he adds: "...in addition, there are Karl Klein, John Barr, Albert Schroeder. All the current members of the Governing Body are also part of 'this generation.'"
Now it's easy to see what's wrong with this picture, and why Exodus 1:6 actually disproves the currently proposed theory:
Were the current members of the Governing Body contemporaries of Rutherford, MacMillan and Van Amburgh? NO!! Of course, not! Rutherford died in 1942 Brother Sanderson was born February 4, 1965. He was baptized just days after he turned 10, on February 9, 1975. So it's not likely that he became "anointed" (a requirement to be in the second group) until 1975 or after. That's 33 years after Rutherford died! So this alone proves that they were not all contemporaries. The same is true of all members of the current Governing Body. They were not all contemporaries with the persons in the first group. We could paraphrase what Brother Splane said about Exodus 1:6:
But now what did the members of this first and second group of brothers all have in common? They were NOT all contemporaries. They had NOT all lived at the same time. So they were NOT part of the same generation. In order get this flaw in the logic past us without too many people noticing, some "sleight of hand" was necessary. It was important to interrupt the identification of the first group with their obvious contemporaries while still under the definition based on Exodus 1:6  that they ALL had to be contemporaries. Then the word "all" was changed to "some" and was slipped in quickly without any emphasis on the word "some" at the 8m:20s mark. Then the word "some" was slipped in again with just slightly more emphasis at around the 9m:40s mark. Here's how:
He does OK up to 7m:54s while still speaking of real and actual contemporaries in the "first group." Then, at 8m:20s into the video Brother Splane gives away the first clue that shows where the reasoning went wrong. In speaking of the second group and mentioning Knorr, Swingle, Suiter, Henschel and Gangas, he says that "They were anointed contemporaries of some in the first group." He does it again at 9m:40s to 9m:54s, where he says: "In order to be part of this generation, someone would have had to have been anointed before 1992, because he would have to have been a contemporary of some of the first group."

What sort of face does deception wear?  One that you will easily recognized?  Perhaps you should go over the Watchtower stock portfolio to get a clearer picture of where the donations are going.
Right.  That is the determining factor of truth, what we visibly see sitting in Satan's world.
You do realize that the GB flies business class?    I wonder how Jesus would have traveled today, who had nowhere to lay his head.

I understand you are in complete agreement with WHATEVER the gb says, so really none of what I post should even interest you, but it does. Why? Is it because the exposure of hypocrisy taints the picture you have in your head? probably. I understand that you feel that EVERYTHING is fine in jw-land, but many don't. So why should your approval make any difference to those who don't swallow everything spit out by the gb? it doesn't, and this thread is not all about you or how much you admire(worship) the gb. This thread is about how the wt/gb does exactly the same as many other religions do in regards to money from the people, but tell the rank and file that they don't. Kinda like the phrase "do as I say not as I do". The letters I have posted here point directly to what I am saying, they have merit, that which you cannot deny but only dismiss.
This banter reminds me of something JTR said recently about calling someone's momma fat. Feelings are hurt because someone called your momma fat, and now its time to defend defend defend your momma not matter what. Its ok Tom, this is not about you nor me, it is about getting the truthful information out there for those lurking and questioning.

I don't know about you, but I LIKE flying Business Class .... it makes flying First Class like being in a cardboard box.
I only flew business class one time, from North Carolina to Norway, and the ticket was $9,450 ... and worth every cent!
What made it even BETTER is that ten thousand children and more had to sell their pet chickens, and do without ice cream cones to pay for it!
Oh wait ....  that was for the GB's Business class ticket.
    ... never mind.

The days was going so fine until they had to spoil it with grubbing for money.
Four hours! That's how long the annual meeting lasted. Four hours of streaming all the latest. Four hours of of experiences and details and history of building the new headquarters. Then, four talks spreading new light so brilliant it made Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like an overcast day.
And then spoiling it all - I couldn't believe it - in the midst of it, 30 seconds of shameless groveling for money. They actually (brace yourselves) - they actually suggested that those present might donate if they wanted to!!!, and (GASP!) they even said where they could do it (at the contribution box)!!!!
30 seconds' mention of money in a four hour period! @Shiwiii is right. It's all about money with these guys.
Oh, and that letter Shiwiii spirited out, that he was so excited about sharing - almost wetting himself in excitement? That letter that extra contribution stations should be established? I looked and looked for ours (our meeting was at our Kingdom Hall) and I discovered it! That slot in the counter that used to be designated as the Kingdom Hall fund but was taped over when that fund was combined with the WWW? ... It was UNCOVERED  again!!!!! and also labeled Worldwide Work!
I tell you, it made Joel Osteen look like Johnny Appleseed! What a shameless example of greed!!!

Srecko Sostar reacted to Jack Ryan in GB Private Gazebo @ Warwick - Someone Proposed There & It Didn't Go Well...
At Warwick there is a gazebo overlooking the lake. It's a nice peaceful setting. Well someone had the bright idea they were going to propose while they were at Warwick. They see this Gazebo and walk out to. He proposes to her and they take some nice pictures there of each other to remember their engagement.
Well, a few minutes later Bethels version of the secret service comes running down the hill. A bunch of these guys tell them that they can't be there, this is for the GB use only. They meet there on Wednesdays when it's nice out instead of meeting in their office.
It gets even crazier! They made them delete all the photos they took at this location. They gave some weird reason that they don't want tourist coming down and taking pictures of the gazebo and idolizing it because the GB have their meetings there on Wednesday on nice days. & that they didn't want other people getting the idea that this would be a good place to get engaged at.
I can confirm this story 100% down to the smallest detail. One of the weirdest things I've ever witnessed. Talk about an awkward engagement.
  13. Haha
Srecko Sostar reacted to JW Insider in GB Private Gazebo @ Warwick - Someone Proposed There & It Didn't Go Well...
Then, assuming she accepted the proposal, the brothers asked them to become disengaged (Form S-78) and to become re-engaged anywhere outside of Warwick, since the Governing Body also meets in Warwick and does not want anything related to the Branch location area to become idolized, either. Then they decided on a 50-mile radius, which would also include the old Brooklyn Bethel, because, well, you just can't be too careful. For engagement services, they are now providing a special bus that runs from Warwick to the old Burnt-Over Disctrict of New York, where it all began. An announcement comes over the loudspeaker of the bus when the 50-mile radius has been reached, and engagements are allowed again.

If we had not surrounded TRUTH in a swaddling cloth of drivel and fantasy, we would not have to spend 25 man-years knocking on doors to get ONE convert who will stay his whole life.
We would not have to spend billions of hours knocking on THEIR doors .... a billion of them would be knocking on OURS.

I think you interpret holding a different opinion as yourself as being 'brainwashed. At 2/2 with total 4 hours per week, all the rest of the time carrying on as normal? You're joking!

Yes. If you claim you were brainwashed at only 4 hours per week, you only testify to how stupid and helpless you think you are. Why not just say you changed your mind, reassessed your goals? I have done that. Everyone has. People change their minds. There is no shame in saying that. But if you carry on that the only reason you could have reversed a decision you made is that you were brainwashed - surely that is pathetic.
Look, I didn't say they were brainwashed in college. I said college splendidly meets one classic criteria of brainwashing: separate the victim from all that is familiar. Ones who later come to regret their college time seldom say they are brainwashed, despite that 24/7 criteria. How much more ridiculous to say it happened with 4 hours per week.

You can always spot an apostate. How? It is so easy, and it is not rocket science either! Jesus address this kind of apostate attitude in anyone, but especially the hipocritical thinking of the Scribes and Pharasees of his day at Matthew 23:13 which reads:
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut up the Kingdom of the heavens before men; for you yourselves do not go in, neither do you permit those on their way in to go in."
"They" (the apostates") are not interested in the truth nor in teaching others the truth. "They" only want to spread misinformation in order to confuse, distract, take away, sow seeds of doubt, waste people's time, impose, and promote their agenda. And what is "their" agenda? Get people to care less about Christ's brothers. Make people think that there is no difference between Christ's brothers and any other religious organization. Justify any mistreatment of Christ's brothers. They could care less about Christ's brothers, from the least of them upwards. They fault-find any imperfection Christ's brothers have to the extreme of being ridiculous, even stupid, like the NGO's decades ago even though it was for a short period, and who knows why or any details thereof.
The bottom line and purpose of apostate thinking is simply to keep people indifferent. "They" point to something better ... NEVER.
DID I SAY "NEVER"? HOW ABOUT "NEVER EVER"! Any follower of Christ should simply ask himself: "If I leave, Should I go back to believing in the immortality of the soul?" "Should I join a religion that is doing a BETTER job of fulfilling Matthew 24:14?" "Should I join a religion that has more that a thousand DIFFERENT languages on their website that surpasses JW.org?" "Should I join a religion that makes more sense to a person born deaf, or even born blind and deaf, or that even makes sense to an atheist with no nonsense attached to it?"
As an ex-atheist myself, when I was presented the good news in 1968, a week after Robert F. Kennedy was killed, I was amazed that there was a religion that gave logical explations of every question and argument I presented.
My issue with apostates is, FIRST, show us something BETTER"! KNOCK-KNOCK-OUR-SOCKS-OFF BETTER!! WOW US!!! SHOW US WORKS EVER GREATER THAN THOSE OF JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF DURING HIS THREE-AND-A-HALF-YEAR MINISTRY!!! POINT US TO A RELIGION THAT ALL OF ITS MEMBERS, evn though imperfect, ARE BETTER AT JOHN 13:34-35 than Jehovah's Witnesses.
When apostates come vomiting filth on message boards that witnesses use to share information and then post links, just spot these and view it the same a ponography. It is just there and we just don't click on it nor would we bother ourselves in trying to witness to the male, female or transvestite prostitue that wants to get a few clicks for financial gain or to get us the lust after naked pictures of them in graphic pop-ups that would be difficult to get out of our heads.
There is no difference between pornagraphy and apostasy. At least prostatudes and be shamed, apostates can't be shamed. "They" are shameless and disgusting in their spiritual prostition and proud of it. Why give any of them the time of day?
I am not giving any of them nor the apostate who posted garbage on this link my time of day with this message. I am just giving my thoughts about how I view anyone who has traded 24-Karate gold for human dung and encourage others to trade in their gold for their dung. And dung is a very Scriptural graphic corresponding ilustration with hundreds of reference to dungy idols and apostasy with the nation of Israel.
