You put lot of efforts, time, patience to bring many reading  material in your comment.
After all this, one thing is need to be answered and you avoid that. Does JW org have inside problems with child molestation or JW org are free of that evil thing?
Second, about your sentence i quote above. Yes, there is some order of how things should be, what is natural inside human interactions in family and society. You missed one little detail in this. Parents are mainly responsible for children, for sure. But Elders are responsible, for parents and by that to their family, inside congregational structure. Structure of congregation (and  structure of WT Company as that entity who run all congregations around the world) is based on elements that is not made by some parents. Rules, obligations, expectations and much more, inside congregation is powered by elders who are agents of WT Company. So, elders are those who have obligation to warn congregants when found they have person inside who are threat for children or adults. And we all know how elders are instructed not to tell and warn congregation about child molester who are in congregation. So please be more .... be more something, hahahaha, chose by yourselfalone what you want to be "more" ....but only in positive direction.
    Best regards!

This information is publicly available from court transcripts and records:
The $4000/day sanctions refer to Osbaldo Padron/Gonzalo Campos trial where Irwin Zalkin is seeking documents in order to build his case against WT.
The perpetrator, Gonzalo Campos, (baptized in 1980, appointed a ministerial servant in 1988,  elder in 1993 and serving as  a pioneer for several years) allegedly molested at least 8 known children in various congregations between 1982 and 1995. In 2010 he fled to Mexico.
6 of these cases against WT were settled out of court. The 7th case was the victim Jose Lopez, who was awarded 13.5 million by the WT, and the last, 8th case, is the victim Osbaldo Padron.
Zalkin is seeking proof that WT was aware of Campo’s first child molestation (or the allegation thereof) and that despite this knowledge, Campos managed to molest at least 7 more victims in several congregations.  WT allegedly was told of the first case of molestation in 1982, by the victim, and made a record of it. This is one of the records Zalkin wants.
Further, the key to the Padron/Campos investigation is a letter that was sent to the body of elders in 1997 based on the 1991 Kingdom Ministry Question box which states:
"When a publisher moves to another area, what should be done to assist in the transfer to a new congregation?
As soon as a publisher arrives from another congregation, the congregation secretary should obtain from the publisher the name of his former congregation and the name and address of the secretary of that congregation. He should then write to the secretary of the former congregation, requesting the Congregation’s Publisher Record card and a letter of introduction. The secretary receiving this request should respond without delay.—See Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry, pages 104-5. etc......."
According to Zalkin, those “transfer” or “introduction” letters with regard to Gonzalo Campos would prove that WT knew about Gonzalo Campo’s previous molestations.
It is those transfer/introduction letters that are costing us $4000/day.
If I am not mistaken, Zalkin is asking for every transfer/introduction letter the elders have ever written in every congregation since 1982
WT did apparently oblige, and did make available some letters, however they were apparently so heavily redacted, that they were of no use. (the names of perpetrators, congregations, as well as the addresses and contact information of the congregation, towns where abuse occurred, and law enforcement agencies that investigated claims were all redacted).
The court is not expecting to know the names of the elders handling the cases, nor the names of the victims.

One thing we need to remember is to stay objective. Just because ex-witnesses whip up countless cases and horror stories does not mean the situation is as extreme as it sounds. I can afford to say this because I am a nobody. It doesn't matter if someone accuses me of cover ups  etc. I am not the Org. However the org. cannot said anything like this even if it is true.  Of course one abused child is one too many, and of course even one case should not be minimized. But I can afford to say that in my whole time as a JW, in many congregations in several countries I have not come across this problem, and believe me this problem does not stay hidden, Witnesses do talk and gossip and word gets around pretty quickly. Not only that, but I have seen elders and ex-elders who would have information admit they have not come across one case. Even one ex- member of the GB admitted that the problem is not extreme and that he himself was not personally aware of a single case. Evidently there have been and are cases. There is such a plethora of people from all kinds of social backgrounds and levels of spiritual maturity in the worldwide brotherhood that it makes it statistically impossible not to have cases of child sexual abuse, sad as it sounds. The other thing is acquiring facts about these cases. As I already mentioned above, these are extremely hard to come by, and without knowing facts, we cannot really make a fair judgement...
Apparently, there is a  handbook on child abuse guidelines which are made available to any publisher who asks for one. Has anyone done this? I haven't since I no longer have small children.

I doubt this is true. In ex- JW circles definitely, but I have to this date never met anyone who mentions this issue door to door, or anywhere else. Just because ex- JW sites are full of this doesn't mean people in general associate us with this problem which is rife in every circle of society. In our neighborhood I counted 8 within a 3 mile radius, with one who has been convicted of sexual assault of the 1st degree on an 8 year old and he lives down the street from my house. Bare in mind these are convicted offenders, there are more who haven't been convicted, very much for the same reasons as some JWs are not convicted....

There will likely be more prosecutions in the aftermath of the ARC, @Barbara Snook. This is a good thing. This former JW may have been targeting 'worldly' children since he left the Org. Other unreported molesters may still be active members of congregations. Former JW or current JW, what has been hidden is coming to light and, if convicted, the community should be that little bit safer.
Also, if you really don't like these kinds of news stories - and the thread title was sufficiently clear on what it was about - then choose not to read them!

A former member of the Jehovah Witness congregation will appear in court next week after he was charged with sexually assaulting four boys.
The charges stem from ongoing investigations linked to the Royal Commission into institutional child sexual offences.
Police allege between 1993 to 2013, the 44-year-old man sexually assaulted four boys aged between 14 and 16 at the time of the offences.

Thought that the Watchtower provided the names as a response to a request for all the cases of sexual child abuse on file. (The cases cover quite a range that might not always be defined as criminal child sexual abuse, but it was the Watchtower intending to provide cases that fell under this definition.) Also, it wasn't 1006 incidents, but 1,006 files about the abusers. Therefore the number of incidents was higher than the 1,006 cases of abusers.
I also understand that several of the cases have already been turned over to the authorities based on time that has past, and evidence of criminality. A few of these have already hit local Australian papers. I've been sent 4 of them, and told about others, but I am not interested in posting them. Enough of that happens by others. (In one of the cases, where the person is much older now, the authorities decided not to prosecute, stating that his disfellowshipping by his congregation had already produced a severe punishment. I guess they consider disfellowshipping to be a bit like a prison sentence.)

The one with Harry Holt does. But she and her younger sister Alison related their stories about their father's abuse back in 2002 (see the documentary below - it's cued up at the right place). Stories like this are hitting the news outlets at the moment, no doubt because there is a campaign to have the UK JWs' child abuse allegation procedures officially investigated due to failings that have come to light in high profile cases over the past few years.

Might need a bit more detail in view of the scriptural specifics don't you think?
My comment on wierdness was more general than related just to disfellowshipping. Mind you, on reflection, having had similar experience to yourself both in years and exposure (albeit much of it inner-city), I've seen my fair share.
I would add that the level of competency and experience required to judge matters that have such a potentially serious outcome needs careful attention and is something that I was totally unprepared for. This is a particular challenge in areas of rapid growth in numbers where skills and experience gets spread pretty thin.

60 years in 8 different congregations in 3 states can offer up a few anomalies. My sister's experience was actually not so uncommon in the mid-west (Missouri) congregations I grew up in (1964-1976). But I've never personally heard of such things being covered up in the last 20 years. At the time, 1981, the elders seemed more concerned that my sister was going to tell the truth to the hospital staff, and this seemed to be their greatest fear. (Small towns revel in gossip and judgmentalism, so fears of public reproach on the congregation were very real.)
The only truly "weird" disfellowshipping I ever got involved with (and on the "wrong" side, at that)  was that of a 90-year old brother because his friends asked me if I could do something about it, and maybe even help to initiate an appeal. It was the kind of travesty that directly resulted in the loss of several other members of this old brother's congregation, including the couple who asked me if I could get involved.
Yet, I have never directly seen a pedophile case or child abuse case in all my years and congregations. I have not seen an apostasy case since 1984. Immorality, divorce issues, smoking and other youthful indiscretions are the only types of cases I've seen in 30 years, and these have been relatively rare, only one every few years. And, of course, the joyful side of each of these has been the return to normalcy after spiritual encouragement.
What I really hoped to get to in this conversation was to just go ahead and admit that I don't believe we shun properly, most of us anyway. That probably won't surprise anyone. I have no doubt at all, personally, that we overdo it, especially with family-based shunning. I think that shunning should be defined as not inviting disfellowshipped persons into congregation activities (platform teaching, audience comments, public prayer, congregation outings, etc). It has nothing to do with whether we should continue to do good things for any and all persons: enemies, friends, neighbors. We should be able to encourage them, talk to them, hire them, visit them when they are sick, etc., etc. That won't work for every single person in the congregation, especially someone who may have been wronged, but it will work for most.
(I think I ignored the previous conversation on shunning.)

While I agree with you to an extent, I also disagree. The point you made about the abusive relationship and skipping the memorial is true for the most part. I would also not expect that type of reaction to those instances. I think the point being made is not actually WHY one is disfellowshippped, but rather the unnecessary reaction by ALL once one is DF'd, even to the extent of family. I've heard of instances of one getting DF'd  for silly reasons, but yet the reaction is the same. The punishment, in my opinion, does not fit the crime. To God, sin is sin and it has only ONE consequence unless you have Jesus' covering. Us as humans are not God and that is also why there are degrees of consequences when breaking the laws of men. To have to live like you have no family because that family is holding to what the gb says instead of the compassion Jesus had, is cruel.

While reading again your comment i found some parallel in OT rules and NT rules. About sinners. If OT congregation found you guilty and found reason to sentenced you in finally way, all congregants would stone the sinner to the dead.
But in 1 century NT congregations introduced new rules on sinners. They are not using stones any more. They using new the type of weapon. After some judicial process, similar or not to the original way of investigation and judging given by Law, congregant was using in first place - words (to judge person) and after that silence, ignoring, dfd (to stone person).
Of course this observation is in err if WT interpretation on NT reports are mistakenly representing how to be applied this or that bible verse. Like their explanation on excommunication was  in 1947 Awake, totally opposite to later standpoint which came to power and is until now.

This afternoon i was recal one simple and "not important" behaviour in some other every day circumstances. Let me tell you.  The brother from the former assembly often parks his car on the parking lot, near the school where I work. This is a parking lot for my colleague school staff and two other institutions in the same building. He has no right to park there, but he still does. But what is ironic is this. After I left JWorg, he did not want to greet me on the street when we met  each other once, twice. But when his car was "trapped" in the parking lot because the ramp was down, he sent me an SMS message and asked me to help him get out. :)) Hypocrisy or not?

Cognitionis got a reaction from Gnosis Pithos in NEWS RELEASES | Jehovah’s Witnesses Close Sale of Historic Building, The Towers
I believe there is no reason for anyone to gossip in Jehovah’s organization, by either past or present members that still consider themselves active.

There were many levels of what was going on with the Watchtower, that opposers, now take advantage of. However, any question relating to these matters can be answered, honestly by the Watchtower, directly, or by reviewing past publications that relate to the cleansing of Jehovah’s House. There is no need to get secondhand accounts on these matters.

Contact the Watchtower, or research on your own, starting from 1966-1975, 1976-1980, 1981-1984

    Yearbook 1979 page-30-1

At the same time, we will have in mind the scriptures that forewarn us of what to expect. Some will stumble and fall away or become unfruitful for various reasons. (Matt. 13:18-22) Furthermore, as shown at Revelation 3:15, 16, the Lord Jesus Christ, who knows the spiritual condition of each one who professes to be his follower, does not tolerate lukewarmness. He advises any who are in that state now to rectify their condition if they are to please him. And just as some deviated from the truth in the first century, it is not surprising that the same thing happens today. Jehovah knows those who belong to him. (2 Tim. 2:18, 19) Warning examples of what befell the Israelites as they were about to enter the Promised Land should keep us individually from becoming overconfident. (1 Cor. 10:12) The seriousness of this matter is emphasized in the fact that 29,893 were disfellowshiped last year. There is no question that our faith is being tested today. Jehovah will retain in his favor and service only those who are clean, yes, the ones striving to meet all the Scriptural requirements and prove themselves fit to be entrusted with the “good news.”—Mic. 6:8; 2 Cor. 6:17-7:1; 1 Thess. 2:4.

It only serves Satan’s propose when there is strife among the brothers.
