Did the pagan Constantine institute Sunday to be the official day of Christian worship?
-
Would you do it without wearing a suit and a tie?

Gotta feel sorry for those who feel they have to have a relationship with a book publishing company in order to have a relationship with God.

"So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?
IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET"
These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?
... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.
... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. Thus this group of anointed followers of Jesus Christ, doing a work in Christendom paralleling Ezekiel's work among the Jews, were manifestly the modern-day Ezekiel, the "prophet" commissioned by Jehovah to declare the good news of God's Messianic kingdom and to give warning to Christendom." Please do explain...."Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members." Worldwide Security Under the "Prince of Peace" (1986) pp.10-11
Doesn't the watchtower teach that Jehovah finally gave up on the nation and replaced it with a spiritual nation of Israelites which consist of only the anointed 144,000 when Jesus wept upon entering Jerusalem?

Matthew you do realize in reading what Jehovah asked of the nation of Israel was that they be HIS special property, any who wanted to serve had to go through certain things be part of the nation. And there was a certain dress code for this nation called in his name. You did know this, right?
No one can do things on their own to gain salvation, Jesus himself said there must 2 or 3 among you and there I will be. So no lone wolf. Paul's admonition to gather together regularly was in line with what Jesus wanted for his followers. Those such gatherings happen at the Kingdom Hall. Go and enjoy the fellowship.
Doesn't the watchtower teach that Jehovah finally gave up on the nation and replaced it with a spiritual nation of Israelites which consist of only the anointed 144,000 when Jesus wept upon entering Jerusalem?

I want anything but that. Maybe you should read more carefully and make sure cat have not got your brain.
Since ex/anti Jws and other opposers are not Jehovah's witnesses, they are at least three times more likely to suffer from mental health problems as are Jehovah's witnesses, studies have shown.Â
Then why did you say this without proof, that's not a very nice thing to say.

Just a thought.....I've met thousands of Christians through out many holiday celebrations, and not once did I ever see a Christian worshipping any of these pagan gods. However it is Jehovah's Witnesses and other denominations who refuse to worship God a few days a year, you are giving these pagan gods more power and control than Jehovah, by acknowledging that they must be worshipped by anyone other than you.
And another aspect I have read from the watchtower magazines is you must be a member of your religion and go to a kingdom hall and dress in a certain way in order to please Jehovah, that is true idolatry.

@Nana Fofana Why do you wish to insult former jw's?

@Matthew9969 Please be respectful. Don't be rude. State what you want minus the emotion and condemnation.
We will begin to enforce these rules going forward.
The last sentence in your last comment is uncalled for and condemnatory. You could have stopped at the end of the first paragraph.
Not sure what you found so offensive. So on this note, could you as a moderator please tell jw's here to back up erroneous claims especially when they are the ones saying something condemning ex jw's. thank you

IMO Scientology being a religion is a joke, but this isn't the first time the jw's have gone to court with other religions.
-
So no jehovahs witness here is willing to provide a study that says apostates are 3 times more likely to have a mental illness, or along those lines. Again jw's support this claim, but are too cowardly to back it up with facts, just a video from a professor that even himself admits, all the data he has is old, unreliable, biased and not trustworthy.
Thank you jw's for showing even further your true colors.

I believe you just did. It is the Question from Readers you brought up yourself and misread a point perfectly obvious to everyone else. Some mistakenly think they have the calling because they are nuts - what's so hard about that? Nobody is saying who is who.
Lest anyone think I ridicule people, let me say that I am not opposed to nuts. Many are nuts here. I am nuts. One man's nuts is another man's eccentric. I don't care to sort it out and don't know if I could if I wanted to. What I do know is that our nuts are harmless. With the world's nuts, you'd better buy a bullet-proof vest.
@James Thomas Rook Jr. will know, if he can extract his face from out of a turkey, that I am very much opposed to those misreading points.

"Or even" mental or emotional imbalances they said "could be" involved IF someone thinks they're of the anointed but is mistaken to think this, didn't they say ? [didn't go back to read]Â
My interpretation is that of the tiny percentage who partake {I don't think anyone ever has at a Memorial I've attended, though up to 2000 present at a couple of them} some could mistakenly feel they are anointed, though in reality they are not, and if so, some subset of that group could conceivably be influenced in their mistaken impression by mental or emotional imbalances.
Since they keep a count of partakers [right?] , they feel a responsibility to acknowledge their count may not be absolutely accurate, i.e., may not signify how many anointed are 'left' on earth.Â
The Bible doesn't indicate how many will be left and "sealed" just before the "great tribulation" anyway, that I know of [?], so maybe any intended implication that it's 'awkward' for org., and requiring they 'scramble' to explain 'inappropriate' numbers could be a product of an over-imaginative tendency , and that itself possibly due to a mental or emotional imbalance on the part of an ex/anti jw or other opposer.Â
Since ex/anti Jws and other opposers are not Jehovah's witnesses, they are at least three times more likely to suffer from mental health problems as are Jehovah's witnesses, studies have shown.Â
I would really love to see that article or study.

Some jw's don't mind their governing body talking down about them. Not a very christian attitude the governing body has towards their congregants.

Yet, that is what the Watchtower has enforced, when it reminds individuals:
"Have you dedicated your life to Jehovah and symbolized your dedication by baptism in water? If you have, that is wonderful! Do you remember when the brother giving the baptism talk asked whether you had dedicated yourself to Jehovah and understood that “your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses”? Wt 4/2017
And what the most recent second baptism question requires:
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization? Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism."
The questions you answered to publicly are found in the Wt 1944, 2/1 p. 44
Thank new light for the condensing down and filtering out the important elements of the two questions asked of you, to:
"On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?"
Yes, the watchtower has had to make a way to make baptism a legally binding contract between the baptisee and the watchtower bible and tract society. The jehovahs witness baptism is simple idolatry at it's deceptive best.

From that article it would seem the governing body already knows most of their congregants have mental issue's.

1 Corinthians 15, 42-5
42 fSo is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; git is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, h“The first man Adam became a living being”;5 ithe last Adam became a jlife-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 kThe first man was from the earth, la man of dust; mthe second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, nso also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just oas we have borne the image of the man of dust, pwe shall6 also bear the image of the man of heaven.
Mystery and Victory
50 I tell you this, brothers: qflesh and blood rcannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. sWe shall not all sleep, tbut we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For uthe trumpet will sound, and vthe dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and wthis mortal body must put on immortality.
What are your thoughts on this great scriptures?
Will the real verse of (Matthew 28:19) ever be revealed?
