No, grated the Great Awakening, there were legitimate groups out there with real claims of  something happening on that exact day. This is why I mentioned Herbert W. Armstrong. Armstrong's fourth and final prediction was a literal one and he gave a date, he was specific, often times, even vague.
A snippet in relation to him, in his case, he gave a description of what would happen
[The beginning of the European broadcast provides the context of a booklet published in 1956 called 1975 in Prophecy! In this book Armstrong put forward a controversial vision of what the world could look like by 1975— featuring illustrations of mass burials and tidal waves destroying cities. Overall he thought that World War III and Christ's glorious return were at the doorstep and that world peace and utopia would follow. Armstrong believed that God had exciting plans for mankind that would see the end of such wars—though the message went far beyond an earthly utopia.]
The problem here is the fact he attested to visions, this is a person, among many, out of the Great Awakening who claim to be a Prophet Inspired, in which such Prophets are capable of having visions like that of those of old, but in reality, such an ability died with the last Apostle, John.
Then you have the Comet Kohoutek situation in which the one who professed this, also claiming to be a Prophet Inspired, said it would happen, 1974, but it did not occur.
Both situations the claim of God's Day was mentioned and was literal, even in the works surrounding these predictions, hence a failed prediction in that era, and in regards to these 2, no speculation at all, granted the literal sense. There were others too, and there were some of which people did not make the claim of God's Day that is to occur, more so, attesting to being vigilant for no one truly knows the day or hour, not even the Son.
The hippies is a story for another day.

A superman joke, when someone does not want to reveal themselves so they act different and or pretend they are not the person at all. Clark Kent pretending he isn't Superman towards other people, hence having a mask (his glasses). This is why I addressed this to Mr. Butler concerning his masks remark, which, in this case - backfired.

These points were made, as for the claims made pertaining to 1975, it does not make sense because of the verses in question, and that the Commission was not stopped by the Christ. There is a time when the gospel work will stop, clearly, what the others ignore to see, is around the 60s and 70s, and onward, people continue the Great Commission of the gospel preaching concerning the Messianic Age that is to come.
What also amazes me is they also ignore the fact that even in the Bible, it attest to time being short, even the Devil knows time is short, moreover, Jesus and his followers have mentioned that the End is Near, in Jesus' case, he gave us an idea due to the Signs.
That being said, the irony also is that there seems to be some who have a slight defense of material gain over zeal for God's Promise.

They even encourage us today to get rid of large mortgages in order to pioneer. Nothing has changed since 1974.
If people sold everything and later were sorry it is because they themselves acted irrationally.
Today - we are still encouraged to scale material things down as much as possible.... yet each one must decide about their situation.

If your failed predictions need more “wiggle room”, the hole you have dug can be backfilled without “Weasel Room”.

Not with standing the foolishness coming from uneducated former Jehovah's Witnesses, It would be nice if current Jehovah's Witnesses didn't demonstrate the same.

In modern times, among the many examples that might be cited is that of the young American couple that had settled down in a fine home and were planning to raise a family. Then one day the husband came home and said to his wife: ‘Just what difference is there between us and the people of Christendom? We are contenting ourselves with mere token service when there is nothing to keep us from being in the full-time ministry. Let’s quit our secular jobs, sell our home and enter the full-time pioneer ministry.’ His wife gulped, for she had been looking forward to the joys of motherhood, to bearing and rearing a number of children. But she went to Jehovah in prayer and asked his help. And he did help her. So they entered the pioneer ministry and in a few years were invited to attend the Gilead missionary school. For some years now they have been very joyful serving as missionaries in a South American country.

….. with all the silly oneupsmanship that goes on here, I was inspired by an account in the news today that Elon Musk has challenged Vladimir Putin to single combat, the winner to take Ukraine.
It was a one sentence challenge, worth more that 3,000 pages of the drivel here.

This 'thread' and in fact this forum in dominated by Amercian thinking.
Revelation states that Yeshua made it possible for people of ALL nations to be Chosen.
The GB don't want that, and the GB have told those other Anointed not to meet together.
Surely as world events unfold then ALL of the Anointed Remnant should be in contact with each other.
Rather than rely on 'worldly' news, surely the Anointed remnant shoud be guiding God's people.
But you people are more interested in two things. 1. Serving the GB and it's Org. 2. Being involved with this political world.
Indeed, By their works one will know them.

The GB are the ones that say only they are the Faithful and Discreet slave.
And the GB say that YHWH and Yeshua trust the GB.
The GB also strictly advise all other Anointed ones NOT TO MEET TOGETHER.

There is no EXJW community. There ARE EX JWs.
community a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. "Montreal's Italian community" . the condition of sharing or having certain attitudes and interests in common. "the sense of community that organized religion can provide"   The only thing EX JWs have in common is that they are Ex JWS.  BUT Ex JWs ARE Ex JWs for many different reason and therefore have different attitudes, feelings, thoughts and deeds.  I TELL YOU THE TRUTH I AM NOT PART OF ANY COMMUNITY EVEN THOUGH YOU JWs WANT TO PRETEND I AM.    SM seems to need to place me in some fake 'group' now and he says he's a Truther. Nothing truthful about lumping a person into a fake group.

Like a former member that lost their way, just like a tax collector or Pagan without repentance. You seem to forget, Paul was a tax collector. Yet, he repented. Now, use the apostate definition to reflect on the individual's action and behavior. Don't just focus on the word.
    NIV Galatians 3:19
[Because of transgressions] On account of transgressions, or with reference to them. The meaning is, that the Law was given to show the true nature of transgressions, or to show what was sin. It was not to reveal a way of justification, but it was to disclose the true nature of sin; to deter people from committing it; to declare its penalty; to convince people of it, and thus to be "ancillary" to, and preparatory to the work of redemption through the Redeemer. This is the true account of the Law of God as given to apostate man, and this use of the Law still exists. This effect of the Law is accomplished:

When you recite scripture, whose words are you using? I really like to know.
Why do you, and why do you quote from it? Does this mean you're a "Pearlite" every time you quote her? If she misuses scripture, then what are you people worshiping and serving if not your own self-interest?
Christians you're not, that's clear enough with your behavior, what's left? Mormon, Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Magic?

You want to tell visitors here you're a lone wolf even though you follow a fake anointed Pearl Doxsey"? Clearly, more lies coming from one that professes to be Christian.
The Watchtower bylaws are reflective of its constitution, the Bible. Therefore, you have a problem with what was started by one man, then later commissioned to many men.
Do you ever get tired of copy/paste from Pearl's meaningless website? However, 1-3 sure looks like "bylaws" to me. Care to change your position, before I outright call you a liar again?

As a Christian I will keep calm here. BUT That article from a May 1974 Kingdom Ministry IS encouraging people to sell their houses and give up their 'lifestyle' to pioneer BECAUSE of the so called 'short time remaining' before Armageddon.
It was all hype. And if they did not believe that Armageddon would happen in 1975, then why were they encouraging this irresponsible behavior of their congregants. When it didn't happen many people found themselves in a bad position without jobs or money to live on.
"Short time remaining" , "Short time left" "The end of this system is so very near"
Direct quotes from that article. and that was written in 1974.
Truther ? I think not. Denier more like.

You hold a mistaken view. While outsiders can be seen as ignorant to God's truth, former Jehovah's Witnesses learned that truth. Therefore, two different issues.
2 Peter 2:21 (BBE) For it would have been better for them to have had no knowledge of the way of righteousness, than to go back again from the holy law which was given to them, after having knowledge of it.
Scripture also stipulated how those people should be views, as in Matthew. Wasn't a tax collector viewed with great disapproval? Remember, the context is the sins of a brother.

    NIV Matt 18:15-17
15 "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'  17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Therefore, apostates need to prove themselves more worthy under God than how they started under ignorance.
Only because you are weighing in with a foolish heart. That is more absurd to God.

Why would anyone want to meet with apostates to discuss your false doctrine, much less the bylaws of that institution? Who are you people to DEMAND an audience?
How many companies have you heard of that allow their ex-employees in their boardroom to discuss anything about that company?
This observation truly shows where your group is in reality. I suggest you tell that group of fake anointed to take a hike! From me, and stop pestering the Watchtower with your nonsense.
And if I would hold you to the same standard of how you view the Watchtower articles about being suggestive and implying, Then YES! You have insinuated you are anointed.
They also know about all the apostates that have written books with their false narratives. What's your point?
You have just "condemned" yourself as an outright liar for telling people here for years about there is no need to gather. Oneness.
I personally didn't need you to acknowledge something I knew all along, but to you see you finally admit it is something else.
You mention the 8, who are the 8? If you are referring to the GB, do you honestly believe Jesus would have allowed himself to be tempted by Satan?
Personally, as a Christian, I don't need to know where apostates gather, that is the most "obtuse" thought that would be in anyone's mind.

This depends on how you view the word community. You might want to consider the latter on the definition you posted as evidence.

People don't need to be clustered together to be part of a community. You, ExJWs, have something in common here. By definition, you're part of a community.

The fact you didn't know about this you are not at fault here, you won't be banned; granted the majority of people do not know these things about such websites. In Admin's case, he will not fault you for it. The only reason Admin was brought up is for example if someone fell actually fell victim to their personal info getting breached, they'll can start pointing fingers in which where they found the link in the first place. For, there are people who if they feel violated in some way shape or form, they'd go for all parties involved, often times get others involved indirectly.
Also your remark of those chosen, @Kosonen saw things differently, I believe you spoke with him before.

This is so stupid it’s hard to see how anyone could take it seriously! There’s only eight of them! And if you think they are all fraudsters just cut them out from your glorious company and do your magnificent deeds without them! See if you can make them cry over that.
