Back when they used to charge the Publishers for books, I remember it was 20 cents at the book counter.

. Today, If the Apostles had ever seen the COSMOS series by Carl Sagan, of many years ago .... perhaps the Scripture would say we ".. are STAR ... STUFF" ... because everything on the Periodic Table of the Elements, except hydrogen, (... all the way to IRON...) was created in first generation stars that exploded, through the fusion of that explosion ... and everything on the Table, HEAVIER than IRON, was created in a Supernova Explosion..
God only created hydrogen, and the rest ... is history.

It is very common in America to make fun of EVERYTHING.
NOTHING is sacred, except the flag, which is worshiped.
During the World War I trench warfare between France and Germany, the Germans hurled insults across "no man's land" to the Americans, "Your President is a low down BASTARD!"
The Americans yelled back "YES! He IS!"

Yes, Naboo is a planet in the Star Wars epics.  Every detail of the Star Wars movies serve as humor and cultural references here in the United States.  
It is "understood" that unless you have been isolated, and living in a cave for the past 40 years, that you instantly understand the cultural references, and sub-references, and nested sub-references.
If you saw a picture of Star Wars actor Harrison Ford (Hans Solo) holding up a sign saying "I shot first.", somewhere around 75% of people my age who are regular movie-goers, would know EXACTLY why that is funny, and tell you why.
It's  LONG story, that starts in 1977 or thereabouts.

Hmmmm... I wonder how many instantly know this reference that come here to the JW-Archive?

Everywhere I have ever worked it was assumed that you did not discuss ANYTHING that went on with outsiders.
If it bothered your conscience, give two weeks notice, and quit, .... or suck it up and keep on keeping on.
Lawyers have the moral and legal obligation to keep client secrets forever, even if they quit being Lawyers.
If I understand the sentence structure here, MY MORAL obligation would be to have told the husband, not the congregational elders. 
Morally, copying a companies hard drive security cameras, except in self defense, is despicable and is the same as adultery.
He betrayed the "mouth that feeds him".
It is morally wrong to steal from one's employer, except in self defense against that employer.

Not exactly. "Exoneration" is not a legal term. They were never declared innocent of all charges. But the prosecution admitted that errors had taken place during the trial. It was declared to be a kind of mistrial that needed to be retried. We were actually one of at least a dozen cases based on the new Sedition Act of 1918. (Several were from other small religions, or individual rogue preachers within a religion.) The prosecution could have renewed the case at any time, but these types of cases are not considered worth the trouble outside the context of some kind of war.

Reversal of the eight Bible Students’ erroneous convictions on May 14, 1919, meant that they were free unless the government chose to reprosecute. But the war was over and the authorities realized that on the basis of the facts it would be impossible to get a conviction. Perhaps a technical point, but the Watchtower Officers during WWI were charged and convicted of sedition against the United States of America ... because they were GUILTY of sedition against the United States of America when at WAR.
