Jehovah’s Witnesses sale to watch out for
The Jehovah’s Witnesses is considering a sale of the majority of its UK property portfolio.
The organisation, which has nearly 8m followers across the world and is undertaking a similar exercise in the US, is asking for expressions of interest for 29 freehold properties around Mill Hill in north London, NW7.
They are formally being marketed by the International Bible Students Association – the registered charity which deals with property, personnel management and magazine distribution for JW in Britain.
The properties are generally located in strong residential areas and interest is expected from residential developers and investors, retirement and care home providers, and hotel companies.
IBSA was not prepared to put a value on the portfolio but its most recent accounts for the year ended 31 August 2014 reported total fixed assets of £73m. However, a sale would be expected to generate proceeds in excess of that figure.
Primary assets include Watch Tower House, a 103,334 sq ft mixed-use building on an eight-acre plot which includes 175 studio or one-bedroom flats for IBSA staff. The building is used to publish magazines The Watchtower and Awake!, which JW said had a combined distribution of 117m copies a year and were the two most widely distributed magazines in the world.
IBSA House, a 201,285 sq ft building on a five-acre plot which serves as the religious group’s main offices, is also included. The site has planning approval for a further 34,445 sq ft of offices. The phasing of the sale is under review but is expected by 2021 at the latest as the organisation moves to its new purpose-built centre in Chelmsford, Essex. However, IBSA said offices could be quickly vacated if investors requested.
IBSA is in the process of appointing an advisor for the residential sites but will use its own in-house property team to market the bulk of the portfolio, which will be officially launched later this month.
Its US branch has also separately put up for sale three residential blocks in Brooklyn, New York, 11-storey 107 Columbia Heights, 69 Adams, by the Manhattan Bridge, and The Towers at 21 Clark Street, formerly the 1920s era Leverich Towers Hotel, and sold 124 Columbia Heights in Brooklyn. It is moving to Warwick, New York state.
Steve Canning, of IBSA’s London Real Estate Team, said: “We have been contacted by various developers but as a charity we have to go to the market to decide how we can progress.”

Frost was caught smuggling pamphlets from Switzerland to Germany and was deported to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp near Berlin. There, he composed this song in 1942. Frost survived the war and died in 1987. This translation is taken from the Jehovah's Witness Songbook Simone Arnold Liebster, who sings the English version of the song, was born in 1930 in Mulhouse, French Alsace. After the incorporation of Alsace into the German Reich during World War II, Liebster's family suffered increasing harrassment from the Nazis for following the Jehovah's Witness faith. Here is a collection of songs and several of them are songs of the Bible books. It sounds like a child is singing these songs but I've been told that the songs were recorded at the wrong speed and it's actually an adult singing. I slowed them down 15% just to listen to it and the sister has a beautiful voice. Both versions are included. The fast and the slow.

This new understanding came about around 1992. I believe Anthony Morris III proposed that article which was eventually published in The Watchtower.
As for some "Worldly" people (a term we try not to use in public) being the Nethinim class in "Paradise"... I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I, for one, would be excited to now that billions of people would be allowed to live in the new theocracy rather than be destroyed.
Maybe this will be part of the upcoming "New Scrolls"?
 
As for the Gibeonites, ... well.... that is a whole other question I will have to tackle later. ;-)
 

Well @Jay Witness you have me stumped. I cannot explain why they would use the music other than to say that it sounds good.
The album cover alone would deter me from owning it in my personal home collection of LP's.
I would remind certain younger brothers at Bethel to reread the following admonition before their next productions:

My daughter got baptized today at our 2016 “Remain Loyal to Jehovah!” regional convention. I’d like to say that, as a single parent of 5, raising children can be most challenging…especially in the truth. However, Jehovah has always been there with us every step of the way as we keep the Kingdom first and focus on remaining loyal to Him…He has always been loyal and true and I can’t think of a day where we needed something and He did not provide. This young lady has had the goal of being baptized and regular pioneering since she was 9! Today she reach the goal of baptism. My heart rejoices to see how good Jehovah is. My hope is that all parents out there, single or married, will trust Jehovah with their whole heart and see His hand in their family…even when things get tough with the kids, as they will at times. In the end, with Jehovah by our side, we can say that it was all worth it. I am blessed and I hope this will encourage my brothers and sisters worldwide! Photo shared by @jahismygod

(1) Have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before Jehovah God as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his SonJesus Christ? 
(2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit? 
If you find that you can answer “YES” to these questions, then it would be appropriate for you to speak to the presiding overseer in the congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses with which you associate, with a view to getting baptized.
