Worldly Actress in JW.ORG's "Paradise" Video

Those who have learned that the “Paradise” video’s soundtrack “Eternal Flame” is from AudioMachine’s 2012 “Epica” Album will probably not be surprised to learn that many of the video’s scenes are ‘stock’ footage, widely available on the Internet.

Among a number of stunning ‘nature’ clips used in the video are:

a magnificent green garden available from Getty Images -

    Hello guest!

as well as “GoodOlga’s”  breath-taking waterfall video from New Zealand that can be purchased from Pond5 -

    Hello guest!

Perhaps the biggest give-away that the video was generously peppered with worldly content was the young girl running through the wheat field to hand Sergei his beloved violin. Turns out a videographer named Dzmitry Andreyeu (UZHursky) holds the copyright:

    Hello guest!

Probably you noticed it immediately too!  After all, we’ve been hearing a lot about Spanx and tight pants for a while now….and her dress… just too short… and that somewhat…. ‘transparent’ material….well just doesn’t seem appropriate….even for “Paradise.”

Now I know there’s been a lot of discussion about the relevancy of types and antitypes of late, but the question many are wondering about now is:

Does the @The Librarian believe Sergei’s young companion could represent the “Gibeonite” or “Nethinim” class (Joshua 9:26,27)?

@Jay Witness The Nethinim class antitype applies to the helpers of the Governing Body who are not of the Anointed Ones. (144,000)

This new understanding came about around 1992. I believe Anthony Morris III proposed that article which was eventually published in The Watchtower.

As for some "Worldly" people (a term we try not to use in public) being the Nethinim class in "Paradise"... I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I, for one, would be excited to now that billions of people would be allowed to live in the new theocracy rather than be destroyed.

Maybe this will be part of the upcoming "New Scrolls"?

As for the Gibeonites, ... well.... that is a whole other question I will have to tackle later. ;-)

I'm  very  sure,  we  shall  see  alot  of  Non - JW's  in  the  NW,  bec. it  does  give  different  reasons  for  that !  And  we're  also  very  wondering,  bec.  many  JW  are  not  there,  sorry......   Jehovah  will  first  watching  and  judge  all  our  hearts  and  our  doings. Then,  maybe,  we  get  our  biggest  chance  and  gift !  We  got  so  often  *New light*.....   Librarian,  I  love  your  sentence...

I  guess,  we  will  just  have  to  wait  and  see  ;o)

We  get  some  *New  Scrolls*  too,  then  many  questions  will  have  answers !

When asked during the Aust Royal Commission, if the members of the Governing Body consider themselves to be God's spokesperson on earth, Geoff Jackson said, "That would be presumptuous of us"

Indicating that perhaps Jehovah's Witnesses are not necessarily the only ones who recognize the TRUTH written in the bible.

There are obviously many not yet contacted through witnessing and more born every minute, whose heart only Jehovah can read.

Some of the comment above is pretty erratic to me.

Will there be non-JWs in the New World? Of course there will!! Probably billions if we are to believe what the Bible says about the resurrection. Will they stay non-JWs once they are resurrected? Of course not. Psalm 150:6  "Every breathing thing - let it praise Jah. Praise Jah!"

However, will non-JWs survive Armageddon? Well, I haven't seen a clear statement on that, even in the small print, so having personally understood at least the basics of Jesus' warnings about the coming end of this system of things, I'm not going to take any chances on that one for my self anyway.

Why the shock over using non-JW sources for pictures, music, clips? Surprise maybe I would expect if it's a new approach (although the literature has been using stock images for years). I can't see any problem with it at all as long as copyright is respected.

Let's be honest, one of the basic tools of communication we use which is verbal language, is borrowed, stolen, inherited, absorbed, and no one blinks at all except brand owners or strap-line originators. (Lyric theft is a whole separate subject). No one serving Jehovah complains that language with all it's idiom, metaphor etc. has "worldly" origin as long as it is used within the parameters laid out in scripture.

As for diaphanous garb? Well, for those like me with 20/20 vision or less surely it's a bit of a stretch, although imagination is well-known for playing tricks with what people think they actually see. (Thanks @Jay Witnesses for sourcing out these bits and pieces however. Most interesting).

Depictions of paradise will always reflect the cultural background and tastes of the creators. Some may view certain elements as a bit "cheesy", others as lacking "diversity". Then there are those who ask all sorts of technical questions based on small details, forgetting that these are just imaginative suggestions. However, we have come on leaps and bounds from some of the earlier attempts I remember. (e.g the first one I saw is below).

Lets not forget the basic message in these paradise illustrations regardless of the media, that "soon, all earth's woes will be past!" (I'm sure that phrase is borrowed from somewhere!...)

Well here at Mark 9 v 38 to 41 we have this conversation between Jesus and John.

John said to him: “Teacher, we saw someone expelling demons by using your name, and we tried to prevent him, because he was not following us.” 39  But Jesus said: “Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one who will do a powerful work on the basis of my name who will quickly be able to say anything bad about me. 40  For whoever is not against us is for us. 41  And whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, I tell you truly, he will by no means lose his reward.

There are a few points to learn from in this scripture :-

 1. It shows that Jesus allowed others, apart from those HE had sent out, to do powerful works in HIS name.

2. Those ones doing the 'powerful works' must have had the approval of Jesus and God because they were receiving Holy spirit to do such works.

3. Jesus said whoever is not against us is for us. And I think only those who are fighting against Jesus and God's will, are the ones that will be destroyed at Armageddon.

4. v 41 Is very powerful and tells us what we need to know. It makes no mention of belonging to a specific religion.

Maybe the GB and JW Org are too self confident. Maybe JW Org will not even exist when Judgement Day arrives.

Wow! Trying to revive a 2016 topic.

Try understanding the ARC transcript. Yes! The righteous and unrighteous will be resurrected, Judgement day will have a separation between the sheep and goats. So, NO! Non-JW’s ( not God’s People) as it stands now cannot be considered the (righteous)

Non-JW’s as it stands now will be considered the (Goats). There is no justification and excuse on someone’s personal action and behavior. You either serve G-d the right way or you don’t. Jesus spoke of unity.

Who is your church or do you consider like “witness” the church is the open air? Therefore, no need to seek those with the same faith.

Will there be others following the example of the Watchtower and proclaim the good news as directed by Jesus in scripture, with everything else involved by keeping the congregation clean? Then, you would think they would be Witness like serving in the same capacity as the Watchtower.

I have NOT seen another organization doing that yet!

There are many individuals or organisations that are preaching the Good News.

Yes! But not to the extant, of satisfying bible principles by glorifying God instead of venerating Christ. Like I said, I have NOT seen another organization doing that yet! Even the Bible Students do that. But where is the true preaching work as implemented by the first century standards.

Christians that look upon the cross as a symbol are not teaching fine works.

I suppose these three young "Christians" jumping in front of a symbol, are not teaching fine works either.

Nice to have your personal opinion, but that is all it is.  It sits in opposition to Jesus' viewpoint though. And I gave scripture to show that.

And as you say "You either serve G-d the right way or you don’t"  And it can be clearly seen that the GB and most of the upper ones in authority in the Watchtower and the CCJW are not serving God at all. They admit to not being inspired and they prove such by running ahead of God and Christ and in so doing they make false prophecies which obviously do not come true. They also place heavy burdens on their followers and do not help to carry the load. They do not show mercy 'to widows and orphans in their midst'. And they most certainly DO NOT keep either of their organisations clean.

There could well be a while between now and the coming Judgement Day and in that time the CCJW / Watchtower Soc' may be completely removed. Both of those are just man made organisations. Don't you think that on Judgement Day it will be each INDIVIDUAL that is tested, just as we are being tested right now ? Or do you think you will be able to hide behind an Organisation ?

People that have a weird way of seeing things will confuse what a symbol of veneration, is. JW.org sign is just that, a sign. A cross is a symbolism of Christianity. A flaw even the Bible Students portray with the Cross and Crown.

The only thing you have proven with your opinion, is the lack of bible understanding. I guess those years spent with witnesses taught you nothing about scripture. What the outside world did teach you is confusion and a cynical sense of morality. Words mean nothing, actions do!

However, reviving a 4-year topic is lame! 😂

in the Bible the word paradise is only said 4 times, and only once (during Jesus’ crucifixion) is it said to possibly mean the earthly paradise.
So the paradise is a lie. The lie was pushed by Rutherford when they realized that the religion was growing too fast, so they had to figure what to do about everyone else. Paradise is a fabrication, a lie, and is the reason anyone joined in the first place.
Apparently between 1928 and 1942 the number of witnesses went from 44,000 to 115,000.  that is some very rapid growth.

A friend of mine saw this picture on her facebook with the caption "Our first day in heaven. What a day that will be!!!" It clearly isnt heaven, however, and I'm 90% sure based on the art style and sense of familiarity that it's from a JW publication. Anyone know which one?

Song of Sol 4:13, Luke 23:39-43, 2 Cor 12:1-7, Rev 2:5-7; Insight pg. 576. These verses when read with context all show a heavenly paradise
Heavenly reward for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; Matt 8:11
Those who are persecuted, the kingdom of HEAVEN belongs to; Matt 5:10-12
      One Hope; Eph 4:4
      All scriptures point to the future hope being Heavenly; Matt 6:20-21; 7:21; 19:21; John 14:2-4; 3:3; Luke 20:34-38; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Cor 15:42-50; 2 Cor 5:6-8; 1 Pet 1:3-5
Rev 19:1 talks about the great crowd being in heaven
The Earth will pass away; psalm 102:25-25; Isaiah 51:6; Matt 24:34-35; Hebrews 1:10-12
Gen 8:22: all other translations say “while the earth remains/endures”. This implies that the Earth has a end date.
New Earth talked about: Isaiah 65:17-18; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Rev 21:1-2
Psalm 37:29: The majority of translations show this verse to say “then righteous shall inherit the LAND”, referring to the promised land. Talks of the earth or land remaining forever all come from Pslams or Ecclesiastes which are songs and poems using figurative language which are hard to prove to be literal.

I'm so fortunate to be part of a generation of millennials who have shifted their desires away from physical belongings and white picket fences toward a life of experiences, connection, and travel.
We are not guaranteed another week, month, or year to start pursuing our dreams. Lucky for us, it's becoming more and more mainstream to work from anywhere in the world, with nothing more than a laptop and an idea.
I don't have any special secret, travel hack, or trust fund that allows me to live in my dream locale of Maui, travel heaps, and pay my bills on time, all without a 9-to-5 job. I simply prioritize the things I value—last-minute excursions, quality time with family, and the ability to leave my alarm unset some mornings—more than everything else.
This lifestyle isn't just for Instagram celebrities or people who got "lucky." All it takes is a few simple shifts:
      1. Go tiny.
For my husband and me, moving into a 124-square-foot tiny house cut back on our cost of living by nearly a third. A smaller space means smaller electric, rent, and water bills and way less room to accumulate junk we don't need. Sometimes it means working from my "office" (aka my car) when I need a quiet space, but this is a small price to pay to avoid sitting in a cubicle for 40 hours a week.
      2. Be a minimalist.
Living in a tiny space means that I physically only have space for a few different outfits. I make sure that I actually wear every piece of clothing that I own, and often. I rarely spend money on new clothes, unless something becomes ripped or worn out. We don't own a TV, which means less money spent on cable TV and Netflix. I never buy frivolous items that I don't need, and I save on daily expenses by cooking most of my own meals and preparing my own coffee.
This doesn't mean that I'm depriving myself, though. On special occasions, I'll treat myself to massages and specialty organic food items. Remember, it's all about your priorities.
      3. Find free fun without compromising your health.
Prioritizing our cash means we don't spend a lot of money going out to eat, going to the movies, shopping, or doing other costly activities. We seek out free fun in the form of surfing, swimming, hiking, and playing at the beach instead, saving our money for more exciting things like great airfare.
      4. Pay for everything in cash (except travel).
Safe to say that most of us (myself included) have felt "trapped" financially at some point. We feel tied to our house payment, car payments, or debt. I get it. However, once I began buying only things that I could actually afford and pay for with cash, it became significantly easier to not only save money but pay off the existing debt that I still owed. Paying for my used car in cash also means no monthly car payment and a significantly cheaper insurance bill each month. Travel is the only thing I'll charge on a card because...travel points. Enough said.
      5. Create a location-independent business.
Gone are the days of a single linear path to success. There are now countless ways to make an income online by harnessing your unique passions, skills, and talents. Create a YouTube channel, blog, course, or podcast showcasing what you know. Start an Etsy store, web design business, or write freelance articles for online publications. The options are endless, and if you decide that your dream life depends on a location-independent business, you'll find a way to start one.

WILL YOU BE WITH ME IN PARADISE? ??⛰?
Bible the translators appropriately used the term “paradise” (pa·raʹdei·sos) with reference to the garden of Eden, because it evidently was an enclosed park.
After the account in Genesis, Bible texts that tell about paradise refer to (1) the garden of Eden itself, or
      (2) the earth as a whole when it will be transformed in the future to a condition like that of Eden, or
      (3) flourishing spiritual conditions among God’s servants on earth, or
      (4) provisions in heaven that remind one of Eden.
Genesis 2:8 states: “Jehovah God planted a garden [“park,” Mo; “paradise,” Dy; pa·raʹdei·son, LXX] in Eden, toward the east, and there he put the man [Adam] whom he had formed.” There was an abundance of varied and fascinating plant and animal life.
Jehovah blessed the first human pair and said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.” (Gen. 1:28)
God’s original purpose for all the earth to be a paradise populated by those who appreciatively obey his laws will not go unfulfilled. (Isa. 45:18;55:10, 11)
That is why Jesus said: “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.” That is also why he taught his disciples to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.” (Matt. 5:5; 6:9, 10)
In harmony with that, Ephesians 1:9-11 explains God’s purpose “to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth.” Hebrews 2:5refers to “the inhabited earth to come.” Revelation 5:10 mentions those who, as joint heirs with Christ, are to “rule as kings over the earth.” Revelation 21:1-5 and 22:1, 2 add delightful descriptions of conditions that will exist in the “new earth” and that remind one of the original Paradise in Eden with its tree of life.—Gen. 2:9.
Additionally, Jesus used the Greek expression pa·raʹdei·sos when referring to the future earthly Paradise. “He said to him [an evildoer who was being impaled alongside Jesus and who expressed faith in Jesus’ coming kingship]: ‘Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise.’”—Luke 23:43.

I thought it interesting to note the modern Star Trek clothing will be used and that fresh fruit will still be flown in off season by jets..
Also interesting was the use of the worldly song to depict the scene.
This is the final video of the 2016 Regional Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Music in video is "Eternal Flame" by Paul Dinletir

In the past we were not allowed to mix worldly music with Jehovah's True Worship at an assembly. So this is another big change.

Prince might have some music we could license and use in future videos.
Keep dreaming my friends. The dream is too good to let go.
      "....it will not be late"
