agreed that is how it should work, right? So why then is it not this way?

    Classic definition of insanity.......just saying.

These statements of yours have a taste of disdain, but yet in the same breath almost an acceptance as that's just how it is.
If that is just how it is, who is going to " ... is vote with their wallets ........ and their feet." ?

Sadly, the majority won’t say, “well that was short-lived! These men lied to us when they said, “the GB is convinced that Jehovah is directing that the world headquarters be moved to Warwick”.  The majority won’t say, “God didn’t bless the purchase of that land or their endeavor to build His house like they told us.”
I doubt that the majority of JWs will call the tornado, "an act of God".  They WILL somehow rationalize Lett’s words by saying, “Satan is the ultimate cause”, even though Lett also said,
WELL, BY ALIENATING HUMANS FROM JEHOVAH, SATAN DEPRIVES THEM OF THE CREATOR LOVINGLY CONTROLLING THE WEATHER FOR THEIR BENEFIT.

    Confusion, confusion.
A JW who was in a congregation that I attended, told another concerning my leaving, that I had "left the protective arms of Jehovah, found only through his organization".  I do believe many do expect divine protection.

Understandable given what they have caught with, but to use a known person who has advocated for the likes of Scientology? They really couldn't find anyone else? Or do you think they are doing this on purpose, actually wanting the guy who wrote for Scientology, so that maybe....just maybe, they won't look as bad as Scientology?

I see that from your post. What I don't get is do they really think that an outside person is going to be able to explain the wt position better then they can? They have lawyers on speed dial, no? Or do you think they have to outsource because the wt's lawyers can only handle personal cases ( witness against another person or the like) and not really so when it comes to another organization?

It appears that they made the top choice, and one they were already familiar with, or had developed "ties" with, as we see from the jw org link.

Wikipedia on Cesnur, the organization that Introvigne directs:
CESNUR has been described as "the highest profile lobbying and information group for controversial religions".
But, we know "the love of money is the root of all evil"
CESNUR describes itself as an independent scholarly organization, but the organization has met with criticism for alleged personal and financial ties to the groups it studies; anthropologist Richard Singelenberg questioned in 1997 whether CESNUR is "too friendly and does not make enough critical comments about new religious movements and sects".[12] Many scholars, however, see it in a favourable light and share its criticism of the "sect-monitors".[2]

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.  1 Tim 6:10

Shiwiii reacted to Srecko Sostar in BAPTISM IN WHO'S NAME ?
I think how question of identifications is good, very important and only issue here that need/have to be accented. Act of baptism is completely in sphere of personal, individual  reasons and decisions about leaving one way of life and accepting Jesus teachings and his Kingdom with new way of thinking and hope.
2nd JW baptismal question is directed to gather people under power of one organization. This organization has Legal Name, and acts (or sometimes not acts) under secular laws. This Organization found it very important to separate own members and that these members are possible to be recognized by other people and organizations as members of THIS organization, WTJWorg. Because of that all these baptized individuals have to be under new nomenclature invented by people. In fact Jesus not gave any name to his new formed group, followers, disciples. Jesus not prophesied nothing about future organization with specific name (Israel is name given by JHVH to Jacob. And all Jacob's offspring later came under Moses system and came to be known as Israelite, Israel Nation)
Well now, what "nation" have to come from Jesus? And what name is proper, appropriate for them? Christians, JW's ....?

Maybe i do err in thinking, but these words are said by Jesus and as such they must be part of baptism ceremony. I said ceremony, because that is symbolic act that has particular meaning ...for observers. As i said above, true act is inside the heart of people. Is it baptism real and only way how to survive and be in God's mercy, i don't know. Is it baptism only way how to be recognized as Jesus's disciples and follower, i don't know.
And in a lack of person who can doing baptism, can person do it solely, for himself? And to tell these words with own mouth? Perhaps it is possible.

One quote I found.  " If the meaning of baptism could be boiled down to one word, that word would be identification. Baptism speaks primarily of a personal, public identification with Jesus Christ. "
    Matthew 28 v 19 NWT
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations,o baptizing themp in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, "
    J W baptism.
Baptisms are usually held at assemblies and conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At the conclusion of the baptism talk, the speaker will ask the baptism candidates to stand and answer the following two questions in a loud voice:
    1. Have you repented of your sins, dedicated yourself to Jehovah, and accepted his way of salvation through Jesus Christ?
    2. Do you understand that your baptism identifies you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with Jehovah’s organization?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So where are the words in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, " ?
And where in the Bible does it say that a person gets baptised into an 'Organisation' ?
Should the JW Org use the words that Jesus instructed to be used ?
Now a puzzling question. What actually is a JW Org baptism ? Sound like a stupid question ? Um.
If a baptised JW leaves the Org or is disfellowshipped, they are then shunned. So are they still a Christian ?
Does their baptism still count for anything ?
In the first century it would have been anointed ones that did the baptising. A baptised one, would become a Christian serving God through Christ. There was no IBSA, and no JW Org. (Although some on here try to pretend that the 1st Century Christians were JWs)
So who now has the right to baptise ?  Should it be Anointed one's that baptise ? Therefore should it be made clear who are the Anointed ones ?
I suppose it would be difficult to know who they are, and to have so few Anointed baptise so many earth wide.
But, by what authority do the Elders baptise ? And is it a true baptism as it is 'into the Org' not as Jesus first directed ?
Does anyone else have the right to baptise and would it be recognised as such by God and Christ ?
Add to this that if a person is reinstated into JW Org and then, wow, everyone can talk to them again, their original baptism into JW Org is ok, and they don't need to do it again.
How does any of that match up with God's written word ?

I found interesting video, with very important evidences about few subjects. Video took place in Cardiff, Wales 2019. Summer Convention "Love never fails".
    1) To what extend JW members are equipped for reasoning and how much they are willing to defend own teachings and beliefs?
    2) To what measure JW members who are Convention delegates are under control of people in "orange vests"? And why they allow them to be under their control?
    3) Why JW members who wear "orange vests" and are in official capacity are not willing to defend WT published teachings?
    4) Does it mean how every JW member who make some sort of sin in his life as JW congregant is "professed JW" while the state of sin lasts?
    5) Does he/she in time before and after sinning is considered as "genuine JW"?
    .....and some more.
Enjoy in good material for thinking and discussion.
Sadly, child sexual abuse is a worldwide plague, and true Christians have been affected by this plague. Why? “Wicked men and impostors” abound, and some may try to enter the congregation. (2 Tim. 3:13) In addition, some professing to be a part of the congregation have succumbed to perverted fleshly desires and have sexually abused children. Let us discuss why child abuse is such a grave sin. Then we will consider how elders handle instances of serious wrongdoing, including child abuse,  and how parents can protect their children. - https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/watchtower-study-may-2019/love-justice-face-of-wickedness/

Since they are not willing to defend their teachings, then they must not be equipped to reason!
To what measure?  100 percent.  Why do they allow it? Because as the man said who was making the video, they refuse to use their mind.  Reason?  I can only guess its out of fear, knowing an elder would rush up any moment to shoo them away from the gentleman.
I was asking myself the same question!
Hmmm, only the writers of the WT know this.
The gentleman states, “so it’s a unique point, that actually there has never been a child abused by a Jehovah’s Witness”
A few of the JWs are well aware of his daughter’s abuse, but they shun him when asking a simple question.  Everyone has a right to use their mind.  God expects us to.  But the elders/servants made sure no one could. And they made sure they didn't use their own mind as well.
"Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould, but let God re-mould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity."  Rom 12:2
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and love and a sound mind.  2 Tim 1:7

Good! more light....new light, old light,  ANY light needs to be shone on this behavior and bring it out into the open. The practice of hiding abusers is wrong, and if any group thinks that they will not answer to God for it, good luck. People need to be informed about organizations that do this.

@TrueTomHarley  I read half of it Tom, but you do tend to go over the top.
One thing i find quite funny is the FACT that the GB / JW Org change the use of their conscience when it affects their bank account.
In many countries JW Preaching is AGAINST THE LAW.  But as the apostles said 'We must obey God as ruler rather than men'. So in many countries Witnesses deliberately break the law to preach.
BUT, the GB / JW Org won't 'break the law' to protect young children from being Sexually Abused.
Even if it it not a legal requirement' to report, SURELY it IS a requirement from GOD through CHRIST to report all forms of Abuse, Child or Adult, to those authorities which GOD HAD PUT IN PLACE.
    Berean Study Bible  James 1 v 27
Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Your GB and its Org have no excuse.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints said it considers protecting victims a top priority, and has a 24-hour help line to report abuse. They may have broken man's law but they obeyed God's law.  And no I do not want to be a Mormon.  But I think there is a scripture somewhere that says something like, 'when those without law do the things of the law' And of course it is talking about God's law not man's.

This is disgusting! So if doctrine states that killing someone on the third Tuesday of the month is ok, then would this also be allowed as well?
The good thing about this though is that it is a great witness as to the practices and policies within this organization, and those who are curious will see this and think long and hard if it truly is an organization being used by God. Would a loving God want child abuse covered up? Would a loving God want it hidden because men made up a doctrine to get away with it?

Shiwiii reacted to Kosonen in More emphasis on good news about Jesus Christ
Yes, you are diminishing Jesus, because that is where the WT leads you into. They have tricked you into diminishing Jesus. And I do my best to correct your thinking.

A common opinion among Jehovah's witnesses is that all glory and honor should go to Jehovah God, even for all Jesus did for us. But that is not scriptural. And WT quote so much from the Old Testament that confuse JWs to fully appreciate Jesus. WT quotes old testament where it says that Jehovah God requires exclusive devotion and that Jehovah God will not share his glory with anyone.
Too strict application of these scriptures blocks JWs minds to understand that we should honor and love Jesus after he suffered a sacrificial death on the torture stake. JWs usually think that all the glory for our salvation should go only to Jehovah. But that is not really the case. Because to be fair Jehovah God himself now wants that all, including angels should appreciate what Jesus accomplished by giving his life as a sacrifice in a very difficult and painful way.
Because Jehovah God is a fair God he wants that Jesus gets a part of the credit for saving mankind.
That is why Jehovah God elevated Jesus to a higher position after he had suffered. And now God wants that people thank both Him and his Son Jesus for salvation. Here are the best scriptures I could find about that in the Bible. Unfortunately the WT has not been able to teach these truths effectively. Instead as I already wrote JWs think that all the glory for ransom should go to Jehovah God.

John 5:22  For the Father judges no one at all, but he has entrusted all the judging to the Son,& 23  so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
Psalms 2:12 Honor* the son, or God* will become indignant
And you will perish from the way,
Revelation 5:12,13  11 And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads* and thousands of thousands, and they were saying with a loud voice: “The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”
And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, saying: “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.”
Revelation 7:10  And they keep shouting with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne,+ and to the Lamb.”
Phi 2:8 More than that, when he came as a man,* he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, yes, death on a torture stake.
9 For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name,+ 10  so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground— 11  and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Revelation 5:8 When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb,
Hebrews 1:6 But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: “And let all of God’s angels do obeisance to him.”
Revelation 1:5 To him who loves us and who set us free from our sins by means of his own blood— 6  and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—yes, to him be the glory and the might forever. Amen.
This does not make Jesus equal to Jehovah. Jehovah God is and will always remain the creator and eternal without begining. And He should be respected as such. But conserning the salvation of mankind, here Jehovah God is clearly not taking all the credit for himself. Instead he wants that his son Jesus gets some serious credit for that. And that is fair, because Jesus suffered tremendously in giving his life as a sacrifice for our sins. Surely all angels in heaven were happy that Jesus took this assignment. Otherwise some other angel would have been asked to do it, I suppose.
