Patiently Waiting For Truth wants to discuss his take on my post: Searching for the earliest mention of the Israelite god, "Yahweh" (Tetragrammaton) aka "Jehovah" in Modern English

Thank you. Fantastic video. Proof that God's name is YAHWEH

What more proof do you JWs need ?  YHWH = YAHWEH.

Remember that is from the 15th century B.C.  The EARLIEST mention of God's name.

Doesn't that contradict the Yehovah idea ?

YAHWEH the only True God. Praise be to Yahweh through His son Yeshua.

Thank you - so it is clear that even in Sudan area there is this an inscription of the Name of the God of Israel dated to 1500 BCE.

Seriously, I can't make out if you are agreeing, being sarcastic, or calling Egyptians liars.

I haven't researched the video to find out how old this video is but I trust @The Librarian to have researched the authenticity of it.

@The Librarian mentions in the title "Yahweh" (Tetragrammaton) aka "Jehovah" in Modern English.

Why do you need a modern name for Almighty God. God who has always existed. God who will always exist. God who's name has such important meaning.

Why would you need to change God's original name. In fact WHO would want to change God's original name. The only one that would want to wipe out God's original name is Satan the devil.

Dear, @The Librarian it appears that @Arauna is telling you that this video is twaddle.

I do keep saying that it is difficult to know what is truth and what isn't.

Oh well, I'll keep using YHWH and you lot can use that false name you love so much.

YHWH seems genuine but some here might not even agree with that.

I was showing in my post that there is a historical\ geographical error in his presentation!.  Geographically the Israelites were not near this area! ... and he speaks of a nomad people who were conquered who calls on this name!

Look on the map of Israel's travels on the peninsula and look at the  map of Africa and you will see there were no Israelites in Sudan! after the exodus - which was what he was implying.  The 1500 BCE dates are correct but the KING is the wrong king - He lived much later.

While I respect the fact that he is bringing these old artifacts to us (I  subscribed to his channel) , it does not mean that he researches his comments very well.  The reason I say this is go back to the original Librarian post and you will see my reasonings for my  pointing out the discrepancies!

ps - I don't get caught up in the differences of Jehovah vs. Yahweh. Both are correct.

Similar to the difference of pronunciation of Jehovah in English versus Spanish...

We get the idea... 😉

to dismiss either version of Jehovahs name is something between God Almighty and each individual ,its all about choices thats whats good about free will

@Patiently waiting for Truth This is your thread to tell the world what you think of JW.org.

Please leave other subjects threads alone (stick to the topic at hand)

I'm surprised you don't get tired of spouting off the hatred daily...

If you feel a certain way... make your post and add any additional thoughts to it.... don't twist every other topic to somehow relate to your hatred of a certain religion.

@Peter Carroll Chill on the website spamming please. We all already know where to find Jehovah's witnesses... @ jw.org   your spam is not helping us look any better. (especially on every single thread you touch).

Share ideas, thoughts and opinions..... not websites.

What matters, God does have a personal name, and it should be used

yes and the bible is where you find it used around 7000 times and it is used in an organized way today ,as God Almighty is a god or order

Why do we have to ‘think upon’ the greatest name? The name Jehovah literally means “He Causes to Become.” This reveals Jehovah as the One who causes himself to become the Fulfiller of promises. He always brings his purposes to realization. He is the almighty God, the only Creator, who has every fine attribute. There is no single word that can fully describe God’s divine nature. But God chose for himself the greatest name—Jehovah—and it calls to mind all his attributes, qualities, and purposes.

praise Jehovah

Quotes from the said article

HOW early in history does the divine name, Jehovah, or Yahweh, appear in sources outside the Bible? Some scholars confidently answer: As early as the 14th century B.C.E. Why do they say that?

When archaeologists discovered that temple, they found an Egyptian hieroglyphic that appears to show the Hebrew Tetragrammaton—YHWH,

The list of subjugated lands displayed at Soleb includes one that has variously been read “Yahwe in the Shosou land,” “The Shasu land of Jahu,” or “Land of the Shasu-yhw.” Egyptologist Jean Leclant says that the name that appears inscribed in the shield at Soleb “corresponds to the ‘tetragram’ of the god of the Bible, YHWH.”

Soleb is not the only place in Nubia where the name Yahwe appears in Egyptian hieroglyphics.

the hieroglyphic for “Yahwe in the Shosou land” appears close to those for other Shosou territories,

This article proves YAHWEH is correct BUT then the article completely changes direction and says :-

"Unlike the names of other gods that appear in ancient inscriptions, the name of the God of the Bible, Jehovah, is still widely used and revered."

How could anyone with a Christian conscience prove that YAHWEH is correct but then pretend that the name Jehovah is the same ?

    • I dunno. The trick would be to persuade them they really are assets and not just the next UN NGO bright idea.
    • Of course, Bitcoin is about believing in an irrational fantasy … much like Santa Clause controlling the global economy in the month of December. Or the true value of U.S. Currency, with a 33 TRILLION DOLLAR NATIONAL DEBT!! Let's start from the beginning to calculate the length of a string of one hundred dollar bills that would equal 33 trillion dollars. First, let's find out how many one hundred dollar bills are in 33 trillion dollars: 33 trillion dollars = 33,000,000,000,000 dollars Number of one hundred dollar bills = 33,000,000,000,000 / 100 = 330,000,000,000, or 3.3 x 10^11 one hundred dollar bills. Now, let's calculate the length of a single one hundred dollar bill. The dimensions of a U.S. one hundred dollar bill are approximately 2.61 inches in width and 6.14 inches in length. To convert the length to miles, we'll divide by 63,360 (since there are 63,360 inches in a mile): Length of a single one hundred dollar bill = 6.14 inches / 63,360 ≈ 0.0000966 miles. Now, let's find the total length of the string of one hundred dollar bills: Total length = (3.3 x 10^11 one hundred dollar bills) x (0.0000966 miles per bill) Total length ≈ 31,878,000 miles. So, a string of one hundred dollar bills that would equal 33 trillion dollars is approximately 31,878,000 miles long. The result of the division 31,878,000 miles, divided by 240,000 miles, is 132.825. 240,000 miles is the approximate distance from the Earth to the Moon. So, the USA National Debt is a line of One Hundred Dollar Bills stretching 132 times PAST the distance from the Earth to the Moon !!!!! …  swoon “thunk”. …. Pudgycoin looking better to you now?
    • Especially in this age when more and more people are shopping on line, there will always be a high demand for card board boxes. That’s why my digital currency of choice is Pudgycoin …. the only digital currency based on corrugated cardboard. AND it comes in a convenient ten pound box, for easy identification. So trusted that there are no financial records to see, and one Pudgycoin is ALWAYS worth what we imagine it to be. Available at the Empire Hancock Building Penthouse Offices, where six diving boards means there is never any wait, and selected Veterinarians, and Pet Supply Stores, in some towns. Remember “Pudgycoin!, … If Things Get Really Bad, You Can Eat Them!”.
    • Someone responded to me today with this quote re: Bitcoin... made me smile. 😉 I actually wouldn't be surprised if Bethel is starting to allocate some holdings in Bitcoin as a way of preserving their assets against local governments around the world after Russia essentially just stole the Branch office. Multisig wallets across continents with many wallet addresses and hidden directors from various countries would make sense. Lawyers would have a very hard time tracking assets they don't even know exist under corporate structures and trusts they also don't know exist.
    • The new fund will provide direct exposure to Bitcoin The fund will be managed by Nomura’s digital asset and blockchain venture arm Laser Capital Bringing more institutional capital into Bitcoin is one of the most important new catalysts on the horizon for future price appreciation and widespread adoption of Bitcoin as its own asset class If Japan follows a similar trend to the United States then this new Bitcoin fund will likely set off a domino effect of other investment banks and asset managers wanting to launch their own Japan has recently been changing their attitude towards crypto and even announced a new proposal for certain types of businesses to be able to issue crypto assets instead of equity when raising capital https://www.thenew.money/article/japans-biggest-bank-is-coming-for-crypto
