[Verse 1] Should've stayed, were there signs, I ignored? Can I help you, not to hurt, anymore? We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleep There are things that we can have, but can't keep [Chorus] If they say Who cares if one more light goes out? In the sky of a million stars It flickers, flickers Who cares when someone's time runs out? If a moment is all we are Or quicker, quicker Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do [Verse 2 ] The reminders, pull the floor from your feet In the kitchen, one more chair than you need, oh And you're angry, and you should be, it's not fai…

An update yesterday on NASA’s Commercial Crew Program has confirmed SpaceX’s current schedule for its first launches of Dragon 2 in February and June of 2018. Previously discussed here, meetings on Monday and Tuesday offered more detailed information on SpaceX’s Dragon programs. In Monday’s NASA advisory meeting, Sam Scimemi discussed ISS operations between now and the end of the year, and went on to discuss SpaceX’s upcoming CRS-12 mission. Currently slated for no earlier than August 14th, CRS-12 will mark the final “new” Dragon capsule to visit the ISS, with all future CRS-1 launches from SpaceX to be conducted with reused capsules. Including CRS-12, SpaceX has nine mo…

After so much waiting it is finally here – the week of the deliveries of the very first Tesla Model 3 vehicles! Whether you waited in line to plunk down a deposit on March 31, 2016 hours before a prototype was unveiled or recently got caught up in the madness, it’s hard to deny just how hooked some of us are on the Model 3. Pretty amazing for a car that isn’t technically for sale yet and that many of us will not see in this calendar year. Here’s how you know you’re a little bit of a fanatic: You have waited what feels like forever for this final reveal, and now that it’s almost here can’t focus on anything else You wake up knowing how many days are left until th…

The Tesla Model S has been restored as the top-rated ultra-luxury sedan by Consumer Reports after the Silicon Valley-based electric car maker released a software update that increased its automatic emergency braking (AEB) upper limit to 90 mph. The Model S and Model X SUV were both downgraded in April because vehicles produced after October 2016 did not include AEB at highway speeds as part of the “standard” package. Consumer Reports said that it “awards extra points to the overall score to vehicles that provide automatic braking as a standard feature across all trims,” due to the feature’s tested ability to prevent accidents. The difference between models built…

BMW group has joined the likes of Tesla and Volvo in bringing more EVs to the world’s streets. The company announced that all brands and model series can be electrified, and will offer a full-electric or hybrid plug-in drivetrain as an option to internal combustion engine vehicles. The company predicts that electrified vehicles will account for 15 to 25 percent of its sales by 2025, according to a company press release. The announcement by BMW is a signal that international car manufacturers are reacting to the EV movement spurred by companies like Tesla. Volvo announced earlier this month that it’s aiming to have 1 million EVs on the road by 2025, and Volkswa…

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has constructed a pedestrian bridge to knock down on the number of traffic collisions near its Hawthorne, California, headquarters. The SpaceX bridge comes six months after two traffic collisions injured company workers in a crosswalk from the SpaceX HQ to its parking garage, according to The Daily Breeze. The prefabricated pedestrian bridge will link the two structures. Railing and siding will be added to the bridge skeleton over the next few weeks. It was erected over the weekend by two cranes, about three stories above Crenshaw Boulevard. Crossing guards will direct traffic in the bustling business corridor around-the-clock as construction conti…

New photos of Tesla’s Gigafactory 1 taken Monday, July 24 and obtained by Teslarati reveal continued expansion taking place on the north end of the massive battery facility outside of Reno, Nevada. To date, Tesla has accrued over $1 billion in construction costs which include construction projects on a new “Section G” that adjoins the main building. When complete, Tesla’s massive factory is expected to cost upwards of $5 billion and support close to 10,000 jobs, up from a previous estimate of 6,500 jobs. CEO Elon Musk recently said when speaking at the National Governors Association 2017 Summer Meeting that Tesla looks to build two, if not three, more Gigafactories in…

Just days before Tesla releases official details for Model 3, including battery pack sizes and their respective driving range, a new rumor has emerged pointing to a new “4416” lithium ion battery cell being produced by the Silicon Valley-based electric car maker. The news comes to us from Ben Sullins at Teslanomics who received an insider tip that Tesla has produced a significantly larger cylindrical battery cell that’s roughly 44mm in diameter and 160mm in height, also known as a 44160 cell, that’s currently being used in the Model 3 battery pack. The new information goes against previous speculation that Tesla will be using it’s newest high energy density 2170 cell…

Tesla will be discontinuing the Model S 75 with rear wheel drive. A Tesla spokesperson confirmed with Teslarati that the company would begin phasing out its only remaining real wheel drive option, though no firm date has been set. The decision to discontinue the Model S 75, named after its rear wheel drive capabilities and 75kWh battery pack, comes ahead of Tesla’s highly anticipated Model 3 launch and seen as a move to differentiate the company’s flagship Model S sedan from its high-volume, affordable electric sedan. The Model 3 delivery event is scheduled for Friday and based on information obtained from inside sources, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is expected to reveal a 6…

Elon Musk is looking to add more people to his Neuralink team so that he can expedite the connection of human brains and computers. Musk’s Neuralink, which develops “ultra high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces,” has a bevy of full-time positions open at its San Francisco headquarters. “No neuroscience experience is required: talent and drive matter far more. We expect most of our team to come from other areas and industries,” the homepage of the Neuralink website says. “We are primarily looking for evidence of exceptional ability and a track record of building things that work.” Neuralink is filling the following positions: Electrical Engineer (Robotics), Hardware …

With the Tesla Model 3 delivery event just days away, Tesla fans everywhere are gearing up for the final roll out of Tesla’s high volume, affordable EV. Amid the excitement, however, Tesla shares have seen a mercurial run on the market in recent weeks. With many investors betting on Tesla’s future — and many more skeptical buyers shorting it — the Model 3 release will be nothing short of a rubber-meets-the-road moment for CEO Elon Musk and his grand automotive ideas. The biggest uncertainty that faces Tesla is its projected production ramp-up. Musk will hand over 30 Model 3s at the delivery event on Friday. From there, production will increase exponentially until ro…
