Tesla has rolled into the stock market at a 1% increase today, but look for that to change as the market digests all of the news from the weekend. One of the revelations sending ripples through the customer base is the Tesla Model 3’s tiered pricing. While it was widely known that there would be levels of pricing, many were surprised at just how high some of the options went, expecting the whole shebang to cap out around $42,000 instead of the higher tiers we see today. This has resulted in some customer disappointment who were hoping that the affordability of the Model 3 would be reflected throughout the tiers, and look for it to have an impact on the market as…

Those that had the opportunity to ride inside a Tesla Model 3 at the delivery event in Fremont, California learned that nearly every feature of the vehicle is controlled by touchscreen, including the unique air vents. The seemingly invisible Model 3 air vent that runs the entire length of the dashboard uses hidden fins and “two intersecting planes of air for vertical control”, according to CEO Elon Musk. Model 3 uses two intersecting planes of air for vertical control & lateral fins hidden within the dashboard for horizontal control — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2017 We witnessed this first hand as our Model 3 pilot demonstrated the capabilitie…

[Verse 1] I wasn’t just broken, I was shattered I trusted you so much, you're all that mattered You no longer love me and I sang like a sad bird I couldn't move on and I think you were flattered [Chorus] Oh! Life’s about joy Life's about pain It's all about forgiving and the will to walk away I'm ready to be loved And love the way I should Life's about Life's about to get good [Post-Chorus] Oh, life's about to get good Oh, life's about to get good Oh, life's about to get good [Verse 2] The longer my tears fell, the wider the river It killed me that you'd give your life to be with her I had …

© LUCY NICHOLSON/Reuters/Corbis Tempted by the idea of using your car and your free time to bring in some extra money? Before you jump onto the ridesharing wagon, make sure you know what you're getting into. App-based ridesharing companies promise you can "earn good money" (Uber), meet "awesome, friendly people" (Lyft) and be "in control" as your own boss (Sidecar), but drivers provide a more nuanced and realistic picture. "Being a rideshare driver can be a good source of income, but you have to view it as running your own business," says Josh, an Uber and Lyft driver in Indianapolis. "You have to track your miles for tax deductions and understand your insu…

Ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft can be a great way for drivers to earn extra cash, and for passengers to get a ride whenever they want. However, the increasing popularity of ridesharing means that both drivers and passengers may sometimes forget that they should still take some basic safety precautions. Here’s what you need to know to help you have a pleasant ridesharing experience. Tips for Ridesharing Drivers Park your vehicle carefully. To help avoid getting hit or being hit by another car when you stop to pick up a passenger, always take time to park in a safe spot, suggests SherpaShare. Your passenger may have to walk a few extra steps, but it might …

One of the best feelings you can have as a rideshare driver is opening up your driver summary and seeing those big tips. A lot of people have their own methods to scoring the big tips but I wanted to share what I do. 1. Don’t Ask for It Every passenger that gets into your car knows how tipping works. For drivers, no matter what you do or how nice you are, there are always going to be people that won’t tip. Forget about those guys, you want to focus on the people who do tip. The one thing that turns me off most as a passenger is when drivers ask for five star ratings or remind me to give them a tip if they liked the service. Dude I know I’m supposed to tip, you do…

Tesla opened up its Model 3 online configurator to employees the day after CEO Elon Musk handed over the first 30 production cars to their new owners at the company’s Fremont, California factory. Screenshots of the newly opened Model 3 Design Studio, posted by a Tesla employee via Model 3 Owners Club, reveal that first deliveries to employees are expected to take place sometime between October and December of this year. Incidentally, this is the same delivery timeframe that has been assigned to Model 3 reservation holders that are non-employees and lined up in the early hours of March 31, 2016 to place their order. Do you want Tesla’s yet-to-be-released Full Sel…

As we originally reported, Tesla has confirmed that accessing and starting the Model 3 can be done through the use of a keycard but also through one’s smartphone. The Silicon Valley electric car company has ditched the ubiquitous Tesla key fob in the Model 3 for a pair of near-field communication (NFC) keycards that can be used for accessing the car. The cards are embedded with a tiny chip that acts as a digital signature for the vehicle. Since NFC technology generally has a limited transmission range of roughly 4-inches, Model 3 owners will be required to tap the B-pillar to unlock the door, followed by a tap between the front seats to start the car. This would expl…
