In Tesla’s earnings report earlier this week, CEO Elon Musk and other executives ensured investors and Tesla drivers alike that the Supercharger network would not only be able to handle the added weight of hundreds of thousands of Model 3s, but that it would allow customers to drive anywhere. The key for Musk and his team is figuring out where to continue to place those chargers so that transportation within cities and between regions is not only feasible, but convenient. “There’s long distance root enabling between cities, and then there’s also within the cities,” said Jonathan McNeill, president of global sales and services for Tesla during the call. “We’ve …

Tesla board member and owner of the fifth production Model 3, Steve Jurvetson, published a new video that demonstrates Model 3Â’s motorized charge port. ThereÂ’s been wide speculation that Model 3Â’s swing-up style charge port door was only capable of self-opening, but JurvetsonÂ’s latest video confirms that the door is capable of closing on its own. This provides further validation that Model 3 is designed to be a fully autonomous vehicle that will serve as the foundation for the Tesla Network. The video also gives us a first glimpse of TeslaÂ’s redesigned universal mobile connector (UMC). The seemingly smaller and lighter mobile charger comes as standard equipmen…

SES will launch its SES-11 satellite aboard a previously recovered Falcon 9 first stage, according to new information provided to Spaceflight Now. The company, Luxembourg-based telecommunications provider, made history earlier this year by enabling the first commercial reuse of an orbital-class rocket with the launch of its SES-10 satellite. Weighing in at just under 5,300kg, SES-10 marked the heaviest geostationary launch SpaceX has yet to conduct while still recovering the first stage. SES-11 will be approximately 100kg heavier at launch, and will make for a thorough test of Falcon 9’s recovery limits if SpaceX chooses to attempt it. While not guaranteed, it i…

I dreamed I was missing You were so scared But no one would listen 'Cause no one else cared After my dreaming I woke with this fear What am I leaving When I'm done here? So if you're asking me I want you to know When my time comes Forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed And don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest Leave out all the rest Don't be afraid I've taken my beating I've shared what I've made I'm strong on the surface Not all the way through I've never been perfect But neither have you So if you're askin…

I was just listening to MSNBC about the developments on this case. It appears that Donald Trump admitted to firing FBI director Comey over this investigation. (I need to find that audio again) Evidently the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network has offered to hand over it's data to some Congressional panel. - Will the head of the US Treasury now be dismissed? Donald Trump's Financial Ties to Russian Oligarchs and Mobsters is also in question now with the Senate looking into his businesses. They also said that the firing of the 43 US Attorneys was also related. Are we witnessing an earthquake at the highest levels of …

Date: August 2, 2017 Source: Florida Atlantic University Summary: Restricting how much you eat without starving has been shown to robustly extend lifespan in more than 20 species of animals including primates. How this works is still unclear. A new study shows that it's not just what or how much you eat that matters. Smelling food in addition to consuming calories could influence the aging process. And, what's 'eating' you or more specifically your cells may provide clues to healthy aging. Read more: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/08/170802092008.htm

Denmark's Prince Henrik announces he won't be buried next to Queen Margrethe II in the Roskilde Cathedral where Danish royals have been buried since 1559. The 83-year-old, French-born Henrik has been dissatisfied with his non-equal role as Prince consort. The 77-year old Margrethe, who had a specially designed sarcophagus made for the couple, accepts Henrik's decision, according to a royal house spokeswoman.

A person close to Tesla CEO Elon Musk has indicated that the EV mogul plans to build the Hyperloop from New York to Washington, D.C. that he tweeted about earlier this month. Bloomberg first reported the story. While Musk laid out the original idea for the Hyperloop, he has largely remained on the sidelines while separate startups — like Hyperloop One and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies — develop technology for the space-aged transportation system. That is no longer the case. “While we’re encouraged that others are making some progress, we would like to accelerate the development of this technology as fast as possible,’’ The Boring Compnay said in a…
