Very simply put, for Jehovah's witnesses 'good news' is about the everlasting life on earth in a coming paradise. That is the first thing Jehovah's witnesses tell people while preaching. And then secondly that Jesus will rule the earth under 1000 years. That is also what Jehovah's witnesses usually think of very much and they wait eagerly for Armageddon and wish that this would come as soon as possible. I know that, I used to think like that, just waiting for those blessings to come. But I had for a long time not fully understood nor appreciated what the 'good news', the gospel is about. Based on one scripture Matthew 24:14 it seemed to be only about God's kingdom, a new government for the earth from God. That is the impression you easily get if you only read Matthew 24:14. But to really understand what is God's kingdom we have to almost equate that with Jesus. That is evident from for example the following scriptures: Jesus said referring to himself in Luke 17:21 For look! the Kingdom of God is in your midst.” Mark 9:1 Furthermore, he said to them: “Truly I say to you that there are some of those standing here who will not taste death at all until first they see the Kingdom of God already having come in power.”+ 2 Six days later Jesus took Peter and James and John along and led them up into a lofty mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them; And apostle Paul declared the Good news about God's kingdom like this on one occasion Acts 17:30,31.”True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance; but now he is declaring to all people everywhere that they should repent. Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.” And the following scriptures give more evidence about the fact that the 'good news' that would be preached to the most distant part of the earth would be very much about Jesus personally, that he died as a sacrifice for people's sins and that people could now be forgiven their sins and get the gift of eternal life from God and that Jesus was resurrected and would come back to judge the wicked and be king over the whole earth. So here is a compilation of scriptures that tell how much the preaching message was about Jesus. Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses of me in Jerusalem, in all Ju·deʹa and Sa·marʹi·a, and to the most distant part* of the earth.” Mark 1:1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus Christ, the Son of God: 2 Cor 1;19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us 2 Thess 1:8 the good news about our Lord Jesus. 1 Thess 3:2 and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s minister* in the good news about the Christ Eph 3:8 so that I should declare to the nations the good news about the unfathomable riches of the Christ Col 4:3 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open a door for the word so that we can declare the sacred secret about the Christ, for which I am in prison bonds, 1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ executed on the stake, to the Jews a cause for stumbling but to the nations foolishness. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all*—this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time. 7 For the purpose of this witness I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in the matter of faith and truth. Acts 11:20 and began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus. Revelation 19:10 ….. I am only a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing concerning Jesus. Worship God! For the witness concerning Jesus is what inspires prophecy.” Revelation 12:17 ...who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus. Sorry to you all who posted on this previous topic. I inadvertedly erased the whole thread. The point was that I did not find that the article honored Jesus enough. I am here back with scriptures showing what kind of love Jehovah God wants that we have for his onlybegotten son Jesus Christ. I think these scriptures would help JWs to understand how much Jesus loves us and how much we should love and honor him in turn. @Arauna I don't undestand why you say that: 1914 just does not fit the greater picture. WT org should have 70 years or maximum 80 years from 1914 just discarded the 1914 doctrine and everything would make much more sense.

@Arauna Please check statistics for population growth and figure out why the world's population did not grow nearly so fast before as the past 100 years. And you think people did not die so much before. Please check history. Even in the Bible there are written about battles when in one day hundreds of thousands died in one day. I don't believe Satan was cast down around 1914. But imagine how it will be when he really is cast down to earth.

@Arauna Yes, the world has changed, and that for the better. I am happy that I live now instead of 100 or 200 years ago. We don't experience premature death our days in the scale it used to be through out centuries. And living standards has risen tremendously the past decades even for people in Asia and Africa. So the question is when was Satan thrown down to earth or has that happened at all? I don't care what GB says. I am just evaluating the situation with a sober mind. But that does not mean that I don't expect Jesus' return. I believe it fully possible that Satan can be thrown down to earth this new year. And then he will have a precisely short time to cause serious trouble on earth. The devastating horsemen of Revelation. Here I am talking about years and not about decades or centuries.

@Arauna What you say is not so remarkable because the world's population has been able to grow thanks to better life conditions the past 100 years than before. @the Sower of Seed The problem with 1914 is that according to Revelation 12 after Satan is thrown down to earth he will be for a short time here raging. 106 years is way long. And longer than any generation. It surely started ill with WW1 and then soon WW2. But why did it calm down seriously after that for more than 70 years? Many people have experienced a much better life since then. And the world's population has been able to grow as never before. In 1914 world's population was about 1,8 billion. Now it is 100 years later 7,7 billions. That is more than 4 times. That is thanks to better living conditions. It does not seem that Satan was permanently thrown down to earth around 1914. Looks like he made an extra effort to disturb life on earth from 1914 to 1945. But then it has been very prosperous times until recently. So instead I believe Satan will be cast down to earth just a few years before the end of this system of things. Then it can be said that he will have a short period of time as says Revelation 12.

The WT has very few times touched Galatians 1:8 (I suspect the writing commitee understands that this can easily be turned against themselves, because many WT doctrines are not well founded in the Bible) But I found a perfect application in JW online library from a WT from 1952 The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom—1952 9 Who can start a new religion, contrary to God’s written will and Word? “Even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond what we declared to you as good news, let him be accursed,” wrote the inspired apostle Paul. (Gal. 1:8, NW) If even a high and mighty angel from heaven cannot start a new gospel without being accursed, then certainly no man on earth can do so with immunity. Any who declare as gospel or good news something that is different from what is recorded in Jehovah’s Word is accursed in God’s sight, whether he is sincere in his declarations or not. Sincerity does not make a wrong thing right. SINCERITY NOT ENOUGH 10. What proves sincerity and zeal alone are insufficient? 10 Clearly indicating that sincerity or zeal in a religious organization that is not following God’s Word is insufficient, Romans 10:2, 3 (NW) declares: “I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.” These persons had zeal and they must have been sincere, but they did not act in accord with accurate knowledge of God’s Word. How does Romans 10:2, 3 fit false religions today, and to what extreme may they even go? 11 That is the way it is with so many false religions today. There is no need to believe anything GB or WT says or writes. The Bible is the authority. We should believe in Jesus and what he said. And we should believe the apostles who Jesus had appointed and their writings. And if anyone goes above that, then apostle Paul says: Galatians 1:8 "However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond the good news we declared to you, let him be accursed."

@Arauna James 5:7 Be patient then, brothers, until the presence of the Lord. This statement, "until the presence of the Lord" indicates that Christ's presence will be a short time period. Why else does James tell us to be patient until the presence of the Lord. From the Bible it is clear that in fact Christ's presence begins when the sign of the son of man will be seen on the sky. Then we will know he is present in its real sense. Otherwise it could likewise be said that Jesus has always been present because he said in Matthew 28:20 "And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” @4Jah2me Here is a scripture that predict that the WT organization will cease to funtion in the begining of the final years leading up to Armageddon. Daniel12:7 “It will be for an appointed time, appointed times, and half a time. As soon as the dashing to pieces of the power of the holy people comes to an end,+ all these things will come to their finish.” This scripture is tied to Daniel 11:31 "And arms will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant feature. “And they will put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation." The true meaning of these scriptures is about a halting of WT organization by the force of authorities. That has never before happened. WT has been printed without disruption since its beginning. The WT organization does not understand Daniel 11 nor 12 and have been unable to give a true explanation to these prophecies.

Under the link WT litterature labels the belief that the 'mark of the beast' could be a implanted microchip as a contrieved fanciful interpretation. Quote: "Others say that it signifies some form of compulsory identification, such as a tattoo or an implanted microchip with a digital code that identifies the person as a servant of the beast. (..........) These fanciful and contrived interpretations, however, are very different from what the Bible itself says about the mark of the beast, as we shall see in the following article. " Whose interest does such a statment serve? I am convinced that a compulsory identification with implanted microchips will come and it will track every purchase. But the initiators of a such system want to keep that secret until the right time and they do naturally not desire that churches would condemn that.

Hi @4Jah2me You are really into something. I have seen scriptures that can been undertood in a way that support your conclusions. Especially that the current WT organization will not be in charge the final approximately 3 and half years. Instead it will be other anointed who have now no say that will be the source of spiritual food.

Hi brother, the prophecies of events during the about 3 and half years before Jesus begins his 1000 year rule are indeed very interesting. You asked about Daniel 7:26. That is in other words about the same thing as the verses above in Daniel 7:11 @the Sower of Seed 11 “I kept watching at that time because of the sound of the arrogant* words that the horn was speaking;+ I watched until the beast was killed and its body was destroyed and it was given over to be burned in the fire. 12 But as for the rest of the beasts,+ their rulerships were taken away, and their lives were prolonged for a time and a season. Interesting that after the sudden destruction of that particularly arrogant king the lives of the other beasts will continue for a time and a season. So that might change quite a bit the perception of Armageddon, does it not?

Let's talk about that after the explanation I gave has materialized. It could well happen as soon as this year.

The WT org says that it is Russia, but it is not.The WT org says that Daniel 11:29,30,31 happened about 100 years ago and that those prophecies fit events that happened then and therefore the King of the North was Germany. And because the following verses describe persecution from the King of North, then according to WT it must then talk about Nazi Germany. But when this power ended Soviet Union picked up the activity of persecution, yes then Soviet Union must be the King of the North and now Russia again persecutes the JWs, well then Russia must be the King of the North. But what if USA begins to persecute the JWs, who will be the King of the North? Or when the whole world will put a ban on Jehovah's witnesses who is then the King of the North? Obviously we can not just look at who is currently persecuting the JWs to determine who is the king of the North. First of all we have to understand the real timing of Daniel 11:30,31. Was the fulfillment really 100 years ago? Not really. That is clear from Daniel chapter 12. Because that chapter talks about the real end of this system of things, and that chapter gives a countdown to the end from the events in Daniel 11:31. Dan 11:31 And arms* will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will profane the sanctuary,+ the fortress, and remove the constant feature.*+“And they will put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation.+ Compare that with Daniel 12:11,12 11 “And from the time that the constant feature*+has been removed and the disgusting thing that causes desolation has been put in place,+ there will be 1,290 days.12 “Happy is the one who keeps in expectation*and who arrives at the 1,335 days! And take note that Daniel 12:6,7 clearly speaks about the end. 6 Then one said to the man clothed in linen,+ who was up above the waters of the stream: “How long will it be to the end of these marvelous things?” 7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was up above the waters of the stream, as he raised his right hand and his left hand to the heavens and swore by the One who is alive forever:+ “It will be for an appointed time, appointed times, and half a time.* As soon as the dashing to pieces of the power of the holy people comes to an end,+ all these things will come to their finish.” So back to Daniel 11:29-31.These verses, especially 31 happens 1335 days before a happy end of expectation. This naturally has to do with the end of this system of things. This can not be about events that took place 100 years ago. So WT has been too early in aplying these scriptures and therefore given a wrong explanation to who this king of the North is. Because Daniel 11:31 has not yet happened the king of the North could not be Germany nor Soviet Union and not either Russia. The sanctuary and the fortress mentioned in Daniel 11:31 that will be profaned is the headquarters of Jehovah's witnesses in USA. So it is only USA itself who can fulfill that prophecy. So naturally USA is then the King of the North. Actually Daniel 11:29 is about the war in Syria and verse 30 says the king of the North will go back. That is what Trump has said he will do, he has promised to take back his troops from Syria. So we should in a short time see the real fulfilment of Daniel 11:31, the attack on the fortress and the sanctuary, the headquarters of JW's witnesses in USA. Dan11:31 And arms* will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will profane the sanctuary,+ the fortress, and remove the constant feature.*+“And they will put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation.+

Isaiah 66: 5 Hear the word of Jehovah, you who tremble at his word:“Your brothers who hate you and exclude you because of my name said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ But He will appear and bring you joy, And they are the ones who will be put to shame.” The WT organization wrongfully excludes sincere believers in Jehovah God and his word. Looks like this prophecy in Isaiah is just about that.

And so much he tried to deceive the officials that the Governing Body are not in control of the Jehovah's witnesses. Already the thing that they call themselves the Governing Body makes it clear. But it is true that the GB has no formal registered authority within the WT corporation. Because the president of the WT corporation is a non anointed brother. Seems that is a tactic to protect the GB from lawsuits. Instead it is the WT society that faces the law suits. It would be fun if the non-anointed President of the WT corporation would stop obeying the GB and would instead choose to take directions from other anointed.

So sad that Jehovah's witnesses do not follow the direction in God's word where openly confessing sins is the pattern. I mean no confidential sins. For example Matthew 35 Then the people of Jerusalem and all Ju·deʹa and all the country around the Jordan were going out to him,+ 6 and they were baptized* by him in the Jordan River,+ openly confessing their sins. So this brother should have openly before the whole congregation confessed of his murders before getting baptized.

And I see that you as all other witnesses feel very unsure about how to understand, let alone explain all the scriptures about 1260, 1290, 1335 days and 42 months and time, times and half a time. I think you would appreciate what I wrote today if you first really tried to fully comprehend the WT literatures explanations. I know you will come into a dead end because those explanations do nor add up. But give it a serious try and pray Jeahovah to make you understand. And see if you will be able to understand. That about Russia can not be true neither with arguments presented in the WT literature. Because in Daniel 11 there is a chronological order of events. The WT rightly puts Daniel 11:31 in to the future. So the following scriptures should also be in the future. We see that the WT teaches that "the disgusting thing" will be standing in a holy place in the future. But in the same time they want to say that the "disgusting thing" has already been standing on the holy place. Can they not decide how they want to have it? Apparently not, because they feel they have to in some way tie all prophecies as close down to 1914 as possible. And then WT literature explains : 18 Immediately after coming to power, Hitler launched a vicious attack against “the holy covenant,” represented by the anointed brothers of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 25:40) In this he acted “effectively” against these loyal Christians, cruelly persecuting many of them. Hitler enjoyed economic and diplomatic successes, acting “effectively” in those fields also. In a few years, he made Germany a power to be reckoned with on the world scene. "20 Hitler soon went to war, as the angel had correctly foretold: “There will be arms that will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will actually profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant feature.” (Daniel 11:31a) The “arms” were the military forces that the king of the north used in order to fight the king of the south in World War II. And the scripture is talking about arms not against nations like Poland but arms against the sanctuary, the fortress associated with the sanctuary and the constant feature or sacrifice. Shortly, the WT should rewrite all the explanations to prophecies they have applied to the last 100+ years. And come up with the true explanations. Even most churches are wise enough to understand that the 1260 etc days belong to the final years before Christ Jesus' return. How stupid can the WT leadership really be?

I know that the WT org teaches that. But that is not true. Jesus did not begin to rule 1914 and Satan was not thrown down that year. Russell had his predictions about 1914. The end of Satan's system. But he was wrong. That generation has already disapeared. Overlaping generation doctrine is just nonsense. 2. Satan was to have only a short time left and would be raging until the end. That does not fit 1914 because a long time has already elapsed. And instead of life going worse, life has got better almost everywhere on earth since 1914. Antibiotics have saved so many lives since then. And life has got much more cofortable since then and for very many people. And Jehovah's witnesses have enjoyed really good times in the Western world. And have got law protection to be able to freely preach and built kingdom halls. So it can not be that Satan was cast down to earth around 1914. The short period Satan gets after he is thrown down to earth is about 3 and half years. That is what all the scriptures about 1260, 1290 and 1335 days are about. Or 42 months and time, times and half a time are about. Take a look what Daniel wrote about those periods and you will see that that period belong to the ultimate end and not to 1914. Only somebody who is dishonest or very unintelligent would rather put that period back to 1914 rather than to the ultimate end of this system of things after a thorough study. I don't think they are so stupid at the writing commite or at the GB. Instead they are dishonest and refuse to admit their awful error. Plus all the brothers and sister they have disfellowshiped who has tried to expose 1914-doctrine as an error. 3. So the Great War that now is called the First World War was in fact just an other war. And surely Satan wanted that the so called First World War would be falsely tied to prophecies in the Bible. Who knows if thanks to Russell's chronology Satan organized this war so that the WT organization would be fooled all the way until now more than 100 years. Satan surely saw that within the WT organization there are truly anointed by God persons, so it would be perfect for him to fool them all with this 1914 deception. And especially delightful it would be for Satan to look at Jehovah's witnesses who claim they are in the truth when they are in the deception. Just delightful for Satan so he can day and night accuse Jehovah's witnesses before Jehovah.

Sadly today's Jews in general in Israel have not learnt the lesson. The book of Zechariah in the Bible has some prophecies that have still to occure in Israel. Zechariah 13:8 “And in all the land,” declares Jehovah,“Two parts in it will be cut off and perish;*And the third part will be left remaining in it. 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire;And I will refine them as silver is refined,And test them as gold is tested.+They will call on my name,And I will answer them.I will say, ‘They are my people,’+And they will say, ‘Jehovah is our God.’”

@Arauna A closer intelligent look at prophecies in the bible shows that the final much needed cleansing period of about 3 and half years has not begun, but will begin very soon. But the bible also speaks about 2300 days. I am sure that period did not occure during the Second world war as the WT explains. And Daniel speaks about the WT headquarters as "the sanctuary, the fortress and the daily feature" that will be profaned. Why? That must be allowed to happen because the sins of the WT organiztion.
