The Librarian reacted to Arauna in Leviticus 26:1
I now live in a country where people kiss icons and make the cross when they walk past a cross or symbol of the church.   So much worship of idols.

The Librarian got a reaction from admin in Call me - Petula Clark
If you're feeling sad and lonely
    There's a service I can render
Tell the one who loves you only
I can be so warm and tender
Call me, don't be afraid, you can call me
Maybe it's late, but just call me
Tell me, and I'll be around ...
When it seems your friends desert you
    There's somebody thinking of you
I'm the one who'll never hurt you
Maybe that's because I love you
Call me, don't be afraid, you can call me
Maybe it's late, but just call me
Tell me, and I'll be around ...
    Now don't forget me
    'Cause if you let me
I will always stay by you
    You've got to trust me
    That's how it must be
There's so much that I can do ...
If you call I'll be right with you
You and I should be together
Take this love I long to give you
I'll be at your side forever
Call me, don't be afraid, you can call me
Maybe it's late, but just call me
Tell me and I'll be around ...

Obviously God did not inspire those paragraphs. They read very badly in 2019.
Nevertheless, you shouldn't judge dead people by the morals of today. You probably have an ancestor that believed something similar yourself.

The Librarian got a reaction from Anna in Albert Schroeder: ...this man centered my theological and spiritual awareness.
During 1994, in my first-ever sit-down discussion on theocratic issues with one of Jehovah's Witnesses (JW), Albert Schroeder, of the Watchtower Society Governing Body, put me to school with the Christian Gospel of Saint John, chapter 6, verse 44, to wit:
"... No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day....' (kjv)
Albert Schroeder said to me: "...go home and ...study this verse..."
And so,... the most unlikely person - me - is now a Disciple of Christ, a Bible student, one of Jehovah's Witnesses in vindication of the Sovereign Jehovah God.
Albert Schroeder had tagged along with JW Elders from Liberia who were before my United Nations/New York committee which was assessing effects of the then ongoing Liberia civil conflict on Liberia's religious groups. At the end of the review with the Liberia JW delegation, Albert Schroeder introduced himself to me. Of course, I did not then know who he was, but I did notice that the Liberia JW group was according him deference, so I inquired of him his role with the Watchtower Society. Still not knowing exactly what the Watchtower Society Governing Body did, I presumed he was some sort of "head honcho".
Considering that I was of the Catholic Church's Seraphic Order, a Worthy Sir of the Holy See, as well as an active participant in many other religious groups because of my political and diplomatic connections, I asked Albert Schroeder if I could acquire honorary membership in the Watchtower Society. His reply was, "...do you have a Bible?... go home and study the sixth book and forty-fourth verse of the Gospel of John, study this verse ...". I did so; and, at the following United Nations review meeting three months later, Albert Schroeder and I began an exchange of notes which guided my work in establishing the modalities of the peace process in Liberia.
Note that between 1994 and 1998, I did not attend a Kingdom Hall, associate with a JW Congregation, or begin a formal study of the Holy Scriptures, until two JW sisters came knocking on my door while out in field service distributing invitations to the Memorial of 1998 to be held on 14 Nisan (10 April 1998, ironically the day before my birthday of 11 April). Interestingly, these two JW sisters appeared at my door exactly as I was in the midst of praying to Jehovah God, "...please show me women who love you...". My prayer was in reaction to the immense and stiff opposition of very close female relatives to my quest of seeking a true association with the love of the Sovereign Jehovah God.
I have steadily progressed in my theocratic dedication and am now both a Pioneer and Ministerial Servant in the Watchtower Society.
BTW,... I am of the persuasion that Albert Schroeder - more than anyone else - tremendously impacted the solid placement of instruments of peace in the cessation of civil conflict throughout Liberia.

And it has to make sense (or be "justified") to you because you are...(insert impressive title here)?

Let's have everyone start to use the new rule: BNBR .  Be nice, Be respectful.
Or at least stop calling one another names.
Attack the ideas and not the person directly.
That is why I banned Allen Smith who cannot seem to help himself from ad hominem attacks... and John Butler for his calling harm to be done to actual human beings (illegal).

Like I said, reread those passages you try so hard to defend. It will give you evidence you are not willing to learn the truth.

My excuses or yours. The only deception I see comes from people that don't educate themselves about history. Anyone can take something out of context in order to express a negative outcome. What those people can't do is teach an educated person how to lie, especially when those, lies are poorly drawn.

The Librarian reacted to Arauna in Jehovah’s Witnesses never made a direct prediction that the end would come in 2000?
I never read a direct prediction that the end would come in 2000.  Any case, we are supposed to be ready ALL the time because it will come as thief in the night.  The other comparison is to  a pregnant woman..... she knows the event is eminent but does not know the hour.
Did the bible not warn that people will scoff and say:  where is it ?   ....and when they do not expect it the events will suddenly follow each other .....rapidly one will see prophecies being fulfilled.  I have no doubt in my mind that it is getting closer every day that passes.
We are seeing the storm clouds rolling in on several sides.  My brother told me that they had temperatures if 53.2 Celsius in south Africa..... and the hight of the summer will only be in February - in 3 months.  Farmers have not planted.
Governments are keeping quiet about crop failures, unprecedented ocean destruction due to warm sea currents and many other problems.  The dollar and stable stockmarket is the main concern. Keep everyone in the dark until the biosphere collapses.
Growing hate between the " iron and clay" elements in most western governments - irreconcileable to where it is almost  cold civil war. Maneuvering behind the scenes of the UN..... 176 nations have signed up on the 3 agreements - a good indication of where we are in the stream of time.
Surveillance and control of powerful private global companies,  super artificial intelligence, CRISPR software  on sale for anyone who wants to use it, CHina and Russia have more  and more ports and other mineral resources under their control and the growth of atheism, immorality (LGBTQ etc) and other devastating philosophies...... as well as a rise in spiritistic religions...... the main one in the UN - theosophy- are escalating.
One thing for sure - the world is not growing better as some are saying - but worse as each day passes. A Christian genocide is ongoing  in middle east and north Africa. No one cares about this because the UN human rights organization has  been taken over by Muslim countries who vote each other in. Countries with the  worst human rights sitting in top positions.
Well.... I can go on..... and on....
Laugh on and on..... suddenly the mockery will turn into gnashing of teeth in anger....

Rita Coolidge - Close The Window, Calm The Light 1978
Outside the rain begins and it may never end
So cry no more on the shore
A dream will take us out to sea
    Forever more forever more

    Close your eyes and dream
And you can be with me
'Neath the waves through the caves of hours
    Long forgotten now
    We're all alone
    We're all alone

    Close the window
    Calm the light
    And it will be alright
    No need to bother now
    Let it out
    Let it all begin
    Learn how to pretend

    Once a story's told
It can't help but grow old
    Roses do
    Lovers too
So cast your seasons to the wind

    And hold me dear
    Oh, hold me dear

    Close the window
    Calm the light
    And it will be alright
    No need to bother now
    Let it out
    Let it all begin
    All's forgotten now
    We're all alone oh-oh, we're all alone

    Close the window
    Calm the light
    And it will be alright
    No need to bother now
    Let it out
    Let it all begin

Owe it to the wind, my love
    (Instrumental)
    All forgotten now
    My Love
