  1. Strange way of thinking and expressing himself. Doesn't look like he was grounded in the faith, if he is a Witness. The children are sleeping in death . They are not in any new world. Eventually they will be resurrected in the new world and the former things will not be remembered or come into mind. Rev 21:3,4; John 5: 28,29, Isaiah 65:17. The murder brings reproach on Jehovah's name in every respect. The surviving father who is supposed to be a JW adds to the reproach by appearing to be callous and not representing the truth of the Bible accurately. His choice of words to say that the grandfather contributed to the children being taken away from him and now he has taken them all away (probably meaning is he good at it) is rather poor and shocking use of language. Put that together with one nation in Europe calling us extremists and see what that does.
  2. A brother in the kingdom hall with 60 wives and 80 concubines? A brother of whom? How long was polygamy tolerated in Christianity? *** g74 2/8 p. 25 My Life as a Festival Singer in Africa *** The Bible Changes My Husband But throughout this period one of Jehovah’s witnesses came each week to conduct a Bible study with my husband. His visits began to affect my husband’s thinking in a favorable way, and this was reflected in what seemed a more tolerant attitude toward me. He became more gentle and soft with me and he seemed to find it easier to talk about the things he was learning in his newfound religion. Almost all of us living in our village were animists, so anything my husband would relate about what he learned from the Bible was quite new to me as well as others. The real turning point in my life, however, came one day when my husband called me to his side and explained that he had learned from the Bible that a man should be the husband of only one wife. (1 Tim. 3:2, 12) So he said that he had decided to send one of his wives back to her people. My heart sank, for my “mate” (his secondary wife) was younger than I. Would he send me, the senior wife, or the younger woman? My anxiety mounted when he went on to explain that this had been a difficult decision for him to make. But he then said: “Will you go with me to the Native Court so we can get papers for our marriage?” I was so relieved, and I readily agreed. I was even excited about the prospect of going to the Native Court to have our marriage solemnized and registered. What had brought about this important decision on his part? Jehovah’s witnesses had explained to him that if he wanted to be a real Christian, his marriage should be legally registered. So more was needed than just paying the dowry. Also, it was explained to him that he should take the ‘wife of his youth’ and her only. (Prov. 5:18) So he sent his second wife back to her people.
  3. I said that is how I would apply to myself, was not speaking of how others apply it. If I believe Jehovah does not like something I will not do it. Not judging others. That's their business.
  4. What would happen, If GB or any of us, want to use some "principles" in some situation from OT and some "principles" in some situation from NT? ==== An example is procuring of tattoos. I think I should apply to myself what the law says about Jehovah not liking tattoos. (Leviticus 19:28) 28 “‘You must not make cuts in your flesh for a dead person, and you must not make tattoo markings on yourselves. I am Jehovah.
  5. It is amazing how Jehovah's spirit works everywhere. Last night many of the brothers here in my congregation made similar points.
  6. Why assemble with Jehovah's Witnesses to celebrate the 2018 Memorial of Jesus's death.
  7. (Matthew 12:25-30) . . .Knowing their thoughts, he said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself comes to ruin, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 In the same way, if Satan expels Satan, he has become divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand? 27 Moreover, if I expel the demons by means of Be·elʹze·bub, by whom do your sons expel them? This is why they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by means of God’s spirit that I expel the demons, the Kingdom of God has really overtaken you. 29 Or how can anyone invade the house of a strong man and seize his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Only then can he plunder his house. 30 Whoever is not on my side is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Mark 9:38-42) 38 John said to him: “Teacher, we saw someone expelling demons by using your name, and we tried to prevent him, because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said: “Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one who will do a powerful work on the basis of my name who will quickly be able to say anything bad about me. 40 For whoever is not against us is for us. 41 And whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, I tell you truly, he will by no means lose his reward. 42 But whoever stumbles one of these little ones who have faith, it would be better for him if a millstone that is turned by a donkey were put around his neck and he were pitched into the sea.
  8. You probably mean "rove about" or roving about. Dan 12
  9. It did not just depend on Alexander's decision. God has a say in these things. Satan is the ruler of this world (1 John 5: 19) but Jehovah is the Supreme ruler in the kingdom of mankind (see scripture below) (Daniel 4:34, 35) 34 “And at the end of the days I, Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar, lifted up to the heavens my eyes, and my own understanding began to return to me; and I blessed the Most High himself, and the One living to time indefinite I praised and glorified, because his rulership is a rulership to time indefinite and his kingdom is for generation after generation. 35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are being considered as merely nothing, and he is doing according to his own will among the army of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth. And there exists no one that can check his hand or that can say to him, ‘What have you been doing?’ (Daniel 4:16, 17) . . .Let its heart be changed from that of a human, and let it be given the heart of a beast, and let seven times pass over it. 17 This is by the decree of watchers, and the request is by the word of the holy ones, so that people living may know that the Most High is Ruler in the kingdom of mankind and that he gives it to whomever he wants, and he sets up over it even the lowliest of men.” (Proverbs 21:1) A king’s heart is like streams of water in Jehovah’s hand. He directs it wherever He pleases. Remember, too, that Jehovah said that Babylon was not be rebuilt, but Alexander had plans to do just that.
  10. Re extra-terrestrials: We know the faithful angels are already doing God's will. They are perfect and need no baptism. We know the demons and Satan will soon be destroyed. They will not repent and turn around. They were wilful opposers. They had no weakness. The ransom cannot cover them. Jehovah is keeping them to test mankind. If they are others (which is doubtful seeing the pains Jehovah took to send his Only-Begotten Son to earth and not to another planet): Are they made in God's image? Did they have a relationship with God in the past? Do they speak and pray to God? Did they sin? Why would they need the ransom? Did God promise every life form everlasting life? Why would God go to such lengths to send his Son to be born as a man to ransom Adam's offspring? Why did God send him to the earth? Look up what our baptism symbolizes? Would these life forms need a fresh start? Why don't we leave these things to God? Why don't we use the time to strengthen our faith and grow to salvation? In the new system we will know all that is to be known.
  11. Heard that one several times in the past, though. It was good to hear it again, still.
  12. This article is interesting and informative. *** w15 7/15 pp. 18-19 par. 15 “Your Deliverance Is Getting Near”! *** 15 Does this mean that there will be a “rapture” of the anointed ones? Many in Christendom believe, according to this teaching, that Christians will be bodily caught up from the earth. Then, they expect that Jesus will visibly return to rule the earth. However, the Bible clearly shows that “the sign of the Son of man” will appear in heaven and that Jesus will come “on the clouds of heaven.” (Matt. 24:30) Both of these expressions imply invisibility. Additionally, “flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom.” So those who will be taken to heaven will first need to be “changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, during the last trumpet.” (Read 1 Corinthians 15:50-53.) Therefore, while we do not use the term “rapture” here because of its wrong connotation, the remaining faithful anointed will be gathered together in an instant of time. Bold print mine
  13. *** Bible Citations *** Rev 7:9-10  After this I saw, and look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep shouting with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.” *** re chap. 20 pp. 123-124 A Multitudinous Great Crowd *** In Heaven or on Earth? 12 How do we know that “standing before the throne” does not mean that the great crowd is in heaven? There is much clear evidence on this point. For example, the Greek word here translated “before” (e·noʹpi·on) literally means “in [the] sight [of]” and is used several times of humans on earth who are “before” or “in the sight of” Jehovah. (1 Timothy 5:21; 2 Timothy 2:14; Romans 14:22; Galatians 1:20) On one occasion when the Israelites were in the wilderness, Moses said to Aaron: “Say to the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, ‘Come near before Jehovah, because he has heard your murmurings.’” (Exodus 16:9) The Israelites did not have to be transported to heaven in order to stand before Jehovah on that occasion. (Compare Leviticus 24:8.) Rather, right there in the wilderness they stood in Jehovah’s view, and his attention was on them. 13 Additionally, we read: “When the Son of man arrives in his glory . . . all the nations will be gathered before him.” The whole human race will not be in heaven when this prophecy is fulfilled. Certainly, those who “depart into everlasting cutting-off” will not be in heaven. (Matthew 25:31-33, 41, 46) Instead, mankind stands on earth in Jesus’ view, and he turns his attention to judging them. Similarly, the great crowd is “before the throne and before the Lamb” in that it stands in the view of Jehovah and his King, Christ Jesus, from whom it receives a favorable judgment.
  14. When I was little, my mother used to be literature servant. That was in the supposed day of small things. Another sister was the accounts servant. She used to step on he platform and read the accounts and step back down - head uncovered. They were men in the congregation but they did not have the relevant education to do these things. But we had to listen to them teach, and some of them had not much ability but they were willing to do their parts. Seems like those were progressive days, then.
  15. This might sound surprising but in the early sixties when I was a teenager I was asked to conduct the Tuesday night Book study about two or three times when the conductor did not show up. There were a few men there but they asked me to do it because I appeared to be qualified to do it. Laugh. The Book Study was at my home and my head was covered, of course.
  16. Seems some are getting away with this nonsense but God will judge fornicators and adulterers. " (Hebrews 13:4) . . .Let marriage be honorable among all, and the marriage bed be without defilement, for God will judge fornicators and adulterers. "
  17. You can look around and see. Eyes can detect ratio. Sort of predicted too. Forgot this? (Psalm 68:11) Jehovah gives the command; The women proclaiming the good news are a large army.
