  1. Spirits can form part of preparedness, as antibiotics and other medicines might be non-existent or scarce. However, true spiritual preparedness is what will save us. However, we won't want to dull our senses with too much alcohol. Jesus refused the drugged wine when he was going through his most severe test. Then again, wine and other luxuries will be scarce in the great tribulation. Note what is going on in Venezuela now. Money blowing around in the streets. (Revelation 6:6) 6 And I heard a voice as if in the midst of the four living creatures say: “A quart of wheat for a de·narʹi·us, and three quarts of barley for a de·narʹi·us; and do not harm the olive oil and the wine.” (Ezekiel 7:19) 19 “‘They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will become abhorrent to them. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them in the day of Jehovah’s fury. They will not be satisfied, nor will they fill their stomachs, for it has become a stumbling block causing their error.
  2. That is his parousia but the Memorial will cease at his coming. (er·khoʹme·non). -*** w19 January p. 25 par. 18 What a Simple Meal Teaches Us About a Heavenly King *** 18 The requirement to observe the Memorial of Christ’s death will not last much longer. When Jesus “comes” during the great tribulation, he will gather his remaining “chosen ones” to heaven, and the Memorial will cease to be commemorated.—1 Cor. 11:26; Matt. 24:31. *** w94 2/15 p. 20 par. 21 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” *** 21 At this point all three Gospel writers use toʹte (then) to introduce the next development. “Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven.” (Matthew 24:30; Mark 13:26; Luke 21:27) Since World War I, Jesus’ true disciples have discerned the composite sign of his invisible presence, while most people have not recognized it. But Matthew 24:30 points forward to a further “sign” appearing in the future, that of “the Son of man,” and all nations will be compelled to take note. When Jesus comes with clouds of invisibility, opposing humans worldwide will have to recognize that “coming” (Greek, er·khoʹme·non) because of a supernatural demonstration of his kingly power.—Revelation 1:7.
  3. PROVING PROOF IN ALCOHOL The word proof came about in the 18th century when sailors, unloading their ships of cargo and whiskey, had only one way to tell the strength of the liquor they were carrying: they would mix a little bit of whiskey with a pinch of gunpowder and drop a lighted match into the mixture. If it ignited with an audible “proof!”, the sailors knew at least half the content was alcohol. Alcohol needs no lawyer – it has proof. Audible, visible and otherwise! They want to say he is an alcoholic without 100% proof?
  4. As Tom Harley said, they might soon obtain a picture with him on the toilet seat. Give the man some privacy. Jesus and his disciples had wine with their meal. Wine was like water in the Mediterranean regions. Paul told Timothy to take some wine instead of water.
  5. God hears prayers of all those righteously disposed. (Acts 10:30-33) Then Cornelius said: “Four days ago counting from this hour, I was praying in my house at the ninth hour; just then a man in bright clothing stood in front of me 31 and said: ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been favorably heard, and your gifts of mercy have been remembered before God. 32 Therefore, send to Jopʹpa and call for Simon who is called Peter. This man is a guest in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’ 33 I then sent for you at once, and you were kind enough to come here. So now we are all present before God to hear all the things you have been commanded by Jehovah to say.” (1 John 3:19-22) By this we will know that we originate with the truth, and we will assure our hearts before him 20 regarding whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. 21 Beloved ones, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have freeness of speech toward God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we are observing his commandments and doing what is pleasing in his eyes. (Psalm 65:2) 2 O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come.
  6. The widow was not in any of those categories but God noticed and said she gave her all. Jesus confirmed it. Each Christian has to carry his own load. No comparisons needed. To his own master he stands or falls. Galations 6:4,5; Romans 14:4,12.
  7. Satan the trapper is smarter - not the mice nor the rats.
  8. Well, COs are good teachers so they must of necessity be good learners too.
  9. Famous person? Really mean person or human? What is it about, though.
  10. We have to care and show empathy. Out time will also come. Keep praying for the brothers and the community at large as well.
  11. Yes, Jehovah wants us to remember them in our prayers and otherwise; though they might not be able to read any thing from us for some time. (No electricity, lost books due to water damage, etc) Reminds me of this scripture: (1 Corinthians 10:13) No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it. The time is near when God will ruin those who are ruining the earth. (Rev 11:18) Jesus the King of God's Kingdom will be able to speak to the weather and say "Enough", as when he was on earth and his disciples were caught in a bad storm. Mark 4:38-41) 38 But he was in the stern, sleeping on the pillow. So they woke him up and said to him: “Teacher, do you not care that we are about to perish?” 39 With that he got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: “Hush! Be quiet!” And the wind abated, and a great calm set in. 40 So he said to them: “Why are you so afraid? Do you not yet have any faith?” 41 But they felt an unusual fear, and they said to one another: “Who really is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him.”
  12. Should be "Chilean" in the heading also, if you mean adjective from "Chile".
  13. Not applying it to anyone or country but the picture reminds me of this scripture: (Ezekiel 7:19-21) 19 “‘They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will become abhorrent to them. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them in the day of Jehovah’s fury. They will not be satisfied, nor will they fill their stomachs, for it has become a stumbling block causing their error. 20 They took pride in the beauty of their ornaments, and they made with them their detestable images, their disgusting idols. That is why I will make it an abhorrent thing to them. 21 I will give it into the hand of the foreigners for plunder and to the wicked ones of the earth for spoil, and they will profane it. A microcosm of future events in various places?
  14. None of the answers satisfy me personally. And I couldn't care less. (Build a school with good material, paint it in attractive colours, then set the school curricula as follows: Each child is to deface one wall each week with graffitti.) I think the answer is at Romans 12:2. That will solve all the problems and queries connected with this subject. As the world becomes more decrepit there will be other fads even more disgusting. So this scripture will apply all the more so.
  15. I won't put the permanent makeup on the same level as a tattoo, though it is done the same way. It usually enhances the features not disfigure it. I don't like the thick eyebrows on the lady above, though. I am surprised if it is a sister.
  16. How do they see tattoos? If you don't like tattoos and you quote Lev 19:29, they say we are not under the Mosaic Law. My take is that I am glad to hear something that Jehovah does not like and glad to avoid it. But as far as I understand Jehovah's Witnesses as a group don't see it any particular way. (Leviticus 19:28) “‘You must not make cuts in your flesh for a dead person, and you must not make tattoo markings on yourselves. I am Jehovah. See comments in previous discussion Outta Here attached above.
  17. Circuit assembly themes are not recorded it seems. Some people are baptised at Circuit Assemblies.
  18. Really good reasoning by the children. Taught love and respect for God by their parents or they are using their God-given faculties well. (Matthew 21:15-17) 15 When the chief priests and the scribes saw the marvelous things he did and the boys that were crying out in the temple and saying: “Save, we pray, the Son of David!” they became indignant 16 and said to him: “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them: “Yes. Did YOU never read this, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have furnished praise’?” 17 And leaving them behind he went outside the city to Bethʹa·ny and passed the night there."
  19. The first one sounds just like a label, the second sounds like the person is living the faith.
  20. *** w08 9/15 p. 21 Resist “the Spirit of the World” *** Holy Spirit or the World’s Spirit? 5 The provision of holy spirit was not limited to the first century. It is readily available today, and God’s spirit can give us the strength to do what is right as well as energize us in his service. (Rom. 12:11; Phil. 4:13) It can also produce in us tender qualities, such as love, kindness, and goodness, which are aspects of “the fruitage of the spirit.” (Gal. 5:22, 23) However, Jehovah God does not force his holy spirit upon unwilling recipients.
