Watchtower has made references that the Wild Beast of Revelation 13, is an organization.
Dan 7:23 states it is “diverse”, different, altered, changed, transformed. It is not at all like the three previous beasts that God’s people suffered under. Both its tactics and appearance are very different from the previous four beasts.
It works on deceit. Rev 19:20
Revelation 13:7 says, It was given power to wage war (spiritual war according to the Greek scriptures 2 Cor 10:3,4) against God’s holy people/saints and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
The beast has the authority to symbolically (because Revelation a book of signs, Rev 1:1) “kill” those who refuse to accept its authority.
It has an “image” of being “spirit-directed”, given to it from a “false prophet”/second beast who appears to be “in Christ”. Rev 13:11
“The second beast was given power to give breath (spirit; see John 20:22) to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.” Rev 13:15
Has any organization in the world “conquered” the anointed ones? Certainly not the U.N. Is there any organization in the world that has the power to authorize the spiritual “death” of people from every tribe, language and nation when they refuse to acknowledge it as an image given by “spirit”?
There is only one diverse organization that has significantly conquered the saints and their companions; pushing the anointed into the far corners of the organization and out of sight from all others. The Watchtower organization.
The elder body has been appointed on the basis of a few scriptures that they say, provides these men with the “breath” of Holy Spirit. In reality, they are the speaking “image” of Rev 13:15. They have been given the authority over the saints/anointed ones and people from every “tribe, language and nation”, to disfellowship (consider them spiritually dead) any who refuse to revere and serve, the Watchtower organization.
Is “Jehovah’s spirit-directed organization” blessed by God?
No. It is the formidable foe against the remaining ones of the woman’s seed before the Kingdom arrives. Rev 12:1-4; 2 Thess 2:9-12
“They will put you out of (expel you from) the synagogues (“congregations”); but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think and claim that he has offered service to God.” John 16:2
When individuals are disfellowshipped, their treatment received from other members of the organization is as if they are dead. Many disfellowshipped ones have not sinned, but have recognized that Christ is their Head, and not men. Matt 5:11; Mark 8:35 They refuse to acknowledge an organization based on deceit.

Can God be “served” through the Watchtower organization? Is it His purpose that men and women devote their lives to a mission that began as a simple gathering of believers and grew to a mega-corporation of earthly investments, under the auspices of a “preaching work”?
From the Watchtower 1998/9/1:
“The November 1, 1922, issue of The Watchtower said about the word “organization”: “An organization is an association of persons for the purpose of carrying out a formed design.” The Watchtower went on to explain that to call Jehovah’s Witnesses an organization did not make them “a sect in the sense that that term is used, but it means merely that the Bible Students [Jehovah’s Witnesses] are endeavoring to carry out God’s purposes and doing it as the Lord does everything, in an orderly manner.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
Please notice what they admit to:
“The apostle Paul showed that Christians in his day likewise acted in an orderly fashion. He compared the ANOINTED Christian fellowship to the human body, which has many parts, each fulfilling its assigned role so that the body can function properly. (1 Corinthians 12:12-26) THAT IS AN EXCELLENT ILLUSTRATION OF AN ORGANIZATION! Why were Christians organized? To serve ‘God’s purposes,’ to do Jehovah’s will.”
The body that Paul is speaking of, is the Body of Christ, who is the chief cornerstone and Head of this Temple of God. Eph 2:19-22 “Living stones” of his priesthood have been sealed into it as the centuries have passed. 1 Pet 2:5,9 They sacrifice their lives in imitation of their Head, Christ, following a similar path of persecution and suffering that Jesus experienced Matt 5:11; John 12:25; Phil 3:10 Each stone sealed into this Body has been cleansed and refined of all defilement, offering themselves as acceptable priests under their High Priest, Jesus. Paul didn’t just give us “an excellent ILLUSTRATION of an organization”, he taught that this Body is the ONLY organization that God approves of! The early arrangement was focused around the temple as the center of worship. The feasts and sacrifices were performed by a priesthood arrangement that God had specified in Moses’ time. From the initial layout beginning with the tabernacle, to the rituals performed within it, God designated its operation. Jesus’ arrival brought this earthly form of worship to an end, as a new eternal High Priest began gathering and training his priesthood to serve the heavenly Temple under God’s direction. Unfortunately, the information Paul gave us about how the anointed Body can thrive by working as one under Christ, has provided FALLEN anointed ones under deception from Satan, the ability to effectively twist its original purpose in serving God. This has resulted in not only the breakdown of the body of Christ but a replacement of the priesthood with a counterfeit – your elders, JWs! By merging both Hebrew and Greek interpretations, The Watchtower has developed its own traditional “feasts” and sacrifices. JWs have just participated in one of their feasts this summer, traveling distances to gather for a cornucopia of perceived “nourishing spiritual food”. Watchtower 2016/11 - Jehovah leads and feeds those in the earthly part of his organization by means of “the faithful and discreet slave” under the direction of Christ, the “head of the congregation.”
A “head” is part of a body, and Jesus Christ is Head of only ONE organization/body, the anointed body of 1 Cor 12:12-26 When your leaders mention the entire organization as a “body” with Christ as Head, this could be confusing once you learn about the anointed Body under Christ. Personally, I was in the dark about this when in the Watchtower, until Pearl Doxsey helped me identify the true spirit-directed organization and Temple of God.
In 1 Cor 3:16,17 Paul tells these anointed members:
“Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and that is what you are.”
In the Watchtower, God’s “Temple” is held out as a threat to the organization’s existence. Anointed ones are held captive under a heavy hand. Rev 13:10,16,17;9:1-6 JWs are taught to question the validity of their anointing. God’s priesthood is admonished to remain silent and not to gather together as a BODY. This flies in the face of the apostle Paul’s teachings – the same teachings the Watchtower was enamored by in the above quote! Do you remember the question it asked? “Why were Christians organized? To serve ‘God’s purposes,’ to do Jehovah’s will.”
What IS God’s will for these anointed ones? Well, the early priesthood was to teach God’s decrees and instructions to the people in matters that would benefit them in their daily life. They were to offer sacrifices of praise to their God. Mal 2:7; Isa 43:21 They were the spiritual connection bringing God’s blessings and love to all of His children. Numbers 6:22-26 The chosen ones under Christ are the dwelling place of God’s Spirit; they ARE Zion, and by their service to the Father and Son, as “New Jerusalem”, they will bring God's blessings to earth, for the benefit of His children. The apostle Paul, chosen to teach the early Christians of the “new wine” from Jesus Christ, said:
“The God who made the world and everything in it—He is Lord of heaven and earth—DOES NOT LIVE IN SHRINES MADE WITH HANDS. NEITHER IS HE SERVED BY HUMAN HANDS, AS THOUGH HE NEEDED ANYTHING, since He himself gives everyone life and breath and all things. From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
Since we are God’s offspring then, WE SHOULDN’T THINK THAT THE DIVINE NATURE IS LIKE GOLD OR SILVER OR STONE, AN IMAGE FASHIONED BY HUMAN ART AND IMAGINATION.

It is almost an impossibility for JWs to disconnect God from the organization. But, Paul is telling us to do so, although the organization is relied upon to direct every move made by JWs.
From Watchtower 16/11: “We will also consider how we should respond to the direction we receive from JEHOVAH’S ORGANIZATION.” (1 Cor. 14:33, 40)
Again, 1 Cor 14:33 is used in both Watchtower quotes; first, in regard to what Paul taught, that of the “holy ones” who are the anointed TEMPLE OF GOD and God’s servants, “Jacob”. To believe that the heavenly pattern of Zion manifests itself in the Watchtower organization is an absolute lie. A covenant is a promise. Within WT’s walls, a covenant has been established by men, that through its existence and your devotion and obedience to its “organized” set of guidelines, salvation can be obtained. JWs, do you really believe our High Priest would readily accept such a bogus promise when Acts 4:12 says,
“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.”
God specifically set up the Temple/Body of Christ as the source of salvation, which leads us back to the initial quote from the Watchtower:

Please tell me how this accomplished. To think that the organization is spirit-directed belittles God's power in light of its failed teachings. You do realize there are a plethora of failed teachings, don’t you?
Is God and Jesus too weak to provide direction with clarity? Are they responsible for the vagueness in teachings that are the historical trademark of the organization?

In Jesus’ day, his enemies manifested themselves as the Scribes and Pharisees; leaders of his own people. They battled against Jesus’ words of truth and set out to kill him. Spiritually, they had as their Father, Satan.
In our day, the battle is fought against a composite false prophet, and a Beast/organization, that the false prophet supports. (Revelation chapter 13) The false prophet “breathes” spirit into the image of the Beast. They are also, Gog and Magog as both have the same plan in mind; to come against the “saints” and companions with deceit. Rev 20:7-9
Where are the “saints” and their companions? The saints are the anointed ones. You should be able to perceive how the symbolic characters of Revelation manifest themselves. And as what happened in Jesus' day, those who stand for truth are "killed", but symbolically as Revelation 13:15-17 expresses. John 16:2; Luke 12:11,12
Those that surround the “saints” in Revelation don’t carry rifles or wear masks. How would that play out as a deceptive ploy? Obviously, the people in the field in the video were well aware the enemy was coming, which is not how the Bible tells it. Rev 16:13-16 As has always happened with God’s people, the majority don’t heed the warnings. Satan uses deceit, just as he did with Eve. Not many wake up to this fact. Rev 6:15-17; 8:10,11 Only remnants of God’s people survived destruction that came upon them in the past, it is the same during the end times. Amos 7:1-9
A movie about the life of Joshua is much different than Wt’s video on Armageddon. Children’s movies are made on the lives of individuals in the Bible. Wt’s version of Revelation is based on a physical battle, which if it were to occur, would be a Satanic diversion of the true spiritual battle that we are warned of throughout the Greek scriptures. Obviously, Wt. doesn’t interpret Revelation consistently as the example I earlier stated, gives proof of. So, who is it that is deceiving you and the rest of JWs?

Rev 20:7-10 - Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive (with lies) the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
Once Armageddon is finished, Satan is finished.

Rule in the midst of Your enemies!There are no enemies in Watchtower’s peaceful thousand-year kingdom after Armageddon. But there are now. And Gog and Magog certainly cannot make two appearances; one at Armageddon and a thousand years later.

Paul is stating that the active reign of Christ began in the first century, leaving 1914 hanging on nothing. Watchtower has a way of taking scripture and twisting it as they like, to deceive and surround the "saints" and companions, with lies.
And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them." Luke 21:8

The knowledge of God is Truth. Any argument against truth is a lie; showing that the war at hand and the weapons needed, involve only truth, to battle against lies.
This is the theme of the Greek scriptures. Jesus brought truth, battled the lies, and taught his disciples to do the same. The battle doesn’t take on a physical form with the world’s military armies in the symbolic book of Revelation, but depicts how the rider on the white horse, called “Faithful and True”, defeats the Beast who received “spirit” from the false prophet - all to deceive Christ’s servants…with lies, since that is the weapon false prophets use. Rev 13:1,5-7,11-17
This is the greatest, destructive “scheme” of Satan and not recognizable by the naked eye.

The scripture’s “day of evil” isn’t what the video portrays at all. Rather, it involves Satan’s deception of lies; and our desire to either battle against it, or stand vulnerable in an open field and allow the enemy, Satan, to overcome us with his “flood” of lies. Joel 3:14; Rev 16:13-16; 2 Thess 2:9-12; Rev 12:15,16

We can’t physically see the light and truth of Christ or the darkness and lies of Satan; yet, we know that both powers exist, and are present for us to decide which will enter our hearts and rule our lives. 2 Cor 11:12-15; John 8:12; Phil 2:14-16; 1 John 1:5,6
Since this is the case, the battle to remain in the light of truth, takes a concerted effort, as “the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one”. 1 John 5:19

I’ll try.
#1 - Since the book of Ephesians addresses the anointed ones, the “gifts in men” of Eph 4:8 does not refer to the elders, but to the anointed “Temple of God” who are being “trampled”/broken down/brought to nothing by the elders who rule over them. Matt 24:15; 2 Thess 2:3,4; Rev 11:1-3 Makes you wonder why S. Lett doesn’t recognize this since he is anointed. It’s because he and the rest of the GB (Matt 24:48-51) care only for what they love, the organization - their Beast of Rev 13:1 Watchtower calls the Wild Beast of Revelation, Satan’s organization. Very true.
#2 - The GB are fallen stars (anointed), Revelation’s “Wormwood” and a “bitter root” (Heb 12:15); poisoning waters of “truth” with lies, (Rev 8:10,11; 17:1) and given demonic power to release (formulate) this army (elders) from the “abyss” – the symbolic pit of darkness, deception and lies. (l o n g sentence) This is a gradual development over the years, (Rev 16:13,14) which JWs would probably notice if they looked hard enough. The anointed role has been downplayed, while the highlighting of the unanointed elder body has led to their receiving the authority by the GB, to basically make the anointed obey them. Dan 12:7
#3 - Joel 1,2 and Rev 9 describe the locust army that God “allows” Satan to enact against God’s chosen people. 2 Thess 2:9-12; Luke 22:31 This army is the active core or heart of the Wild Beast of Rev 13:1. For those who break free of the lies and “captivity”/slavery (Rev 13:10) to a false prophet/Harlot/Wormwood (same identity) and its stinging “army”, God’s promises to hold out to them, what is said in Joel 2:25-27. They must remain close to Him and Christ, obeying his teachings. John 14:15 This is why the Great Tribulation is “different”; it is a more deceptive threat that comes upon the last chosen people of God during the time of the end. Joel 2:2; Dan 12:1; Dan 7:19; Matt 24:21 The Watchtower teaches that the locusts of Revelation are the anointed ones, bringing a “stinging” message to the people. If this was true, why would God make the promises He did in Joel 2:20,25?

Lett deftly avoids explaining, with scriptures, the “divine provision” authorizing the elder body’s right to authority, who are men who have been appointed by men. By far, the vast majority of them are anointed. He then uses, Eph 4:8; which we must remember is a book that addresses the anointed ones.

he gave gifts to people.Paul is speaking of the various gifts received by those within the anointed Body.

There is no “divine provision” made for another group not anointed by God to shepherd His flock, and based solely on men (Gal 3:28). JWs, isn’t this exactly the situation with the authentic holy ones, since you are taught deceitfully to ignore this priestly provision from God? The anointed in the Watchtower aptly fit Lett’s silk tie or scarf being used to polish shoes; only, it is far worse. They are trampled by a great army of locust-scorpions released from Satan’s deep abyss of deception, by Wormwood; and the very army that Stephen Lett is coercing you through “philosophy and empty deceit”, to obey. The number of partakers includes those who mistakenly think that they are anointed. Some who at one point started to partake of the emblems later stopped. Others may have mental or emotional problems that lead them to believe that they will rule with Christ in heaven.
Which leads to doubting ANY who may partake. They can’t be trusted. Whether JWs realize it or not, this has successfully drawn them AWAY from the anointed priesthood, and TO the elder body who have the power to disfellowship God’s anointed people when they choose to reject Wt. lies. The exception of course, is the GB whom they hear boldly declare their heavenly assured, sealed destination. The ramifications are large – many anointed ones prefer to remain invisible for fear of elders scrutinizing them. This also can account for many who stop partaking. The snowball effect causes someone like me to dismiss my anointing for my entire 32+ years in the organization. And I am not alone. It is not unusual for elders to label an anointed one as having emotional problems, or as “mentally diseased”, even threatening them if they choose to partake. And what are they called when they reject such oppression?
Well, apostates are “mentally diseased,” and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings. (1 Tim. 6:3, 4) Wt 11/7/15
Disloyal to whom? To the Father and Christ? No, to the organization. 1 Tim 6:5 bears considering.
This study article is written by hypocrites and enforced by their muscle/elder body. From what I know about hypocrisy, not only is it a characteristic of some mental diseases, it is a spiritual disease that can lead to death. Matt 24:48-51

I should have brought this out before; but then, I have many times under other topics.
JWs are aware there are both genuine anointed ones, and those who are not anointed within their congregations. Of all religions, this is a unique truth specific to the Watchtower organization. What has been lost over the years, is their identity behind the term, “anointed”.
They are chosen by God as His “special people”.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Pet 2:9
They are His priesthood, of both men and women under Christ, their High Priest.
1 Pet 2:5 - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
The spiritual house that they become, is the Temple of God; built on the apostles and prophets – built on the Body of Christ. 1 Cor 3:16,17
“built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.” Eph 2:20-22
They are a “new creation” – neither male or female – to serve as one Body under Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” 2 Cor 5:17
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” Eph 2:10
They are “kings”, “rulers” once sealed in the Kingdom of God. Yes, even the women! They can be sealed as heavenly kings even while on earth. Rev 5:9,10; Eph 4:30
The only King who rules over them is the King of kings, Lord of lords – Jesus Christ and their High Priest. Would he allow other “kings” to take his place? If all are rulers, should one among them rule over another? As I’ve said, the position of leader within the Body is much different than expecting blind obedience to either a man or a woman.
When looking at the early priesthood, all priests under Aaron, the High Priest, were to listen to him.
They are also, the Bride of their “husband”, Christ.
They are a “brotherhood” – unless someone believes Paul was only directing his words to women.
They are “living sacrifices” offering themselves for all who will gain life in the Kingdom.
Chosen people, holy priesthood, living sacrifices, living stones, spiritual house, Temple of God, brotherhood, virgin “wives”, bondservants….and “sons” of God. ( Add to this, are the gifts bestowed on each within this Body.)
All of these characteristics are spiritual and symbolic, having nothing to do with the flesh. They are a new creation of God, selected to serve His children in the Kingdom. Why is this so hard to understand? Why do men limit God’s ability to chose both men and women of His creation and “form” them, refine them, teach them His decrees (if and only if, they are willing to submit to Him and His Son) for His purpose to bring blessings, riches and knowledge from His throne to those “children” on earth who love Him? Why is it so hard to perceive one’s flesh has nothing to do with it?
It is the new thing that God had planned long ago to be established when His Son came to earth. Jer 31:22; Micah 4:8

Does any male religious leader have higher authority over a woman than the man she is married to? Line ten “christian” men up in front of a woman; one of them being her husband. Who should she listen to? Which male “head” should she choose? Obviously, she would most likely listen to her fleshly husband.
BUT, if that wife decides she must leave the so-called “christian” religion she is in, realizing it preaches “another Jesus”, should the husband stop her from doing so, since he does not share that opinion? Since she realizes the difference between a truth and a lie, and is unable to spiritually “live” the lie any longer, should she do what her heart tells her and turn to Christ for guidance? Of course! She doesn’t need permission from her fleshly husband to heed Christ’s words of Matt 11:28.
Since she has chosen to listen to Christ, he is her only spiritual Head. Her fleshly husband has no authority over her spiritual well-being. No religious leader has authority over her decision to serve Christ the way she feels is proper. That is between Christ and herself, although she can certainly share what she learns, since marriage mates are “partners” and would work out their religious differences, giving respect to each other’s spiritual needs, as well as fleshly needs.
So, the Head of the anointed “church”, is ONLY Christ. True spiritual “leaders” who are members of the Body, would be chosen by Christ, not men. If it happens to be a woman, who’s going to argue it? Her husband? ? The true spiritual guidance given by a man to a woman is much different than practicing unrelenting authority over her, such as Watchtower’s “shepherds”, who have been the given ability to judge anyone as unfit for God’s Kingdom, if that person rejects this falsely given authority.
The fleshly wife is to be a “helper” to her husband, just as the Bride of Christ will be Christ’s helper, recognizing he is still their Master. 2 Tim 2:20,21
God’s word tells us,
“Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?” Rom 6:16
We cannot serve two Masters. Our fleshly marriage must be in balance with our commitment to Christ. We spiritually serve only God and Christ. If we, male or female, put obeying men above Jesus, we will succumb to devoting our time, energy and resources to men (and what they desire to build), instead of Christ. Matt 6:24
Col 1:18 - And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Anointed women are part of the body of Christ, the church. They are not sitting on the bench or in some other zone you have created mentally, but are equal in all respects, to men.

Do you think there was chance they were prophesying? I do. Please, don’t limit the ability of God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the gift of Holy Spirit.

Eph 5:23 - “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.”

This is a comparison of “heads”. Christ is head of the church. The church is the anointed Body. (Matt 16:18)

He is the only Head of all within the Body, that is comprised of both male and female. He is the spiritual “husband” of the Body/Bride. The comparison of this husband/bride arrangement is made to a physical marriage of a man and a woman.
“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.” 2 Cor 11:2
This doesn’t give room for any man to acts as go between for Christ concerning anointed woman. Concerning ALL women. Though, you believe so, just as the governing body believes so. Yet, they also believe they are head over every anointed one, male or female, since they must fully obey the wicked slave, and their own “body” of elders that they “govern” over, built outside of God’s intentions. Matt 24:48-51
We have only one saviour, Christ. We are only to be Christ's servant, not man's. For anyone to stand between Christ and another, and expect obedience to their "decrees", they take on the role of saviour, and the role of judge. The governing body has successfully accomplished this.
"Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand." Rom 14:4

Revelation speaks of "Jezebel" in a symbolic way. No discretion is made that this Jezebel-like individual would be a woman. In fact, this individual could very well likely be a man, or a collection of men. Revelation's Jezebel obviously teaches/rules over others through seduction. Rev. 2:20 "She" rules over the anointed house of God.
"She" is a false prophet/Harlot Rev 13:11 And one of Babylon the Great's many "daughters". Rev 17:5
How many false prophets are there that you know of, who are men? I know of 8 who reside over the Watchtower, who have left their covenant with Christ, no longer "virgins", having defiled their "garments" by teaching lies. 2 Cor 11:2-4 They have seduced all of God's anointed ones (men or women) to "put up with" another gospel; disregarding their obligation to listen only to Christ.
Men and women, who are to be found at Christ's return, "virgins".
Just another example showing that there is no discretion in God's eyes as to whom, in the anointed Body of Christ, can teach. It is not based on one's sex.

We are all familiar with the story of Esau and Jacob. Esau, during a moment of hunger, impetuously sold his birthright for a bowl of stew. In that one moment, we see the inclination of Esau’s mind on the earthly, fleshly needs overpowering his faith and sustenance in God. His act of eating the bread and stew showed that Esau “despised” his birthright, or viewed it as worthless, not only when filling his stomach, but indicating faith was never fully directed toward God. Gen 25:33,34

I have a young 7-year old grandson that can be quite headstrong. If he refuses to complete a task asked jointly of both grandsons, it is held out to him that he will lose any reward that follows. When the task is accomplished, and the reward offered to the other grandson, the seven-year-old immediately balks and states the verdict is “not fair”, many times through tears shed over his loss of reward. When someone in a family shows an unreasonable stubborn streak, it is not uncommon to begin searching through the characteristics of older family members and blame it on that “gene”.
The nation of Edom was Esau’s progeny. Edom harbored the animosity “gene” against Israel throughout Bible history. Jacob’s name was changed to Israel, letting us see that the Bible’s later references to “Jacob”, refers to the nation of Israel. The struggle between Jacob and Esau, which began in the womb, continued through their descendants. Even though Jacob was the younger of the two, notice the prophetic outcome of these twins, in the words of Gen.25:21-23:
Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. 22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.
23 The Lord said to her,
“Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you will be separated;
one people will be stronger than the other,
and the older will serve the younger.”
What was Esau’s blessing?
38 Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!” And Esau wept loudly.

Look, your dwelling place will be
away from the richness of the land,
away from the dew of the sky above.
40 You will live by your sword,
and you will serve your brother.
But when you rebel,

Edom (meaning red) was both a rugged, mountainous region and the location of Mount Seir, as well as desert and red sandstone cliffs where available pasture and land for farming practices was scarce. They imposed taxation on an ancient caravan route, as well as using sea trade routes as a source of livelihood.
Jacob, as “Israel”, received both the riches of the earth and the spiritual wealth from God, whenever and as long as, they obeyed His direction. Gen 27:28,29
“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” Exod 19:5,6 (see Deut chapter 28)
Although Esau and Jacob met amicably when Jacob was returning to Canaan with Rachel and Leah (Gen 33:1-4), several moments in Biblical history show us Edom’s bitter animosity toward Israel. Edom’s king denied Israel passage through their country in Num 20:14-21; 21:4; Deut 2:4-6. However, at that time, God set the standard that Israel was not to hate or despise their “brother”. As a result of conflict forcing the Edomites out of their own land, (in Greek, “Idumaea”) they fled into Judah close to the time period when Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar, plundered Jerusalem and destroyed its temple. Jer 25:3-12 Judah had gravely strayed from obeying God’s voice and commandments and was suffering the consequences. The Edomites assisted Babylon’s attack on God’s people, as well as overtaking cities and land once the Judeans were sent into exile in Babylon. Judah’s bitter words during exile, pleading for vengeance against Edom are found in Psalm 137, with verse 7 reading:

Another conqueror came against the Edomites, forcing them to make a choice; either leave the cities conquered or convert to Judaism. The grandfather of Herod the Great, who built the last temple in Jerusalem, was among those who converted. Eventually, the mention of the people of Edom phased out of historical records around 70 c.e.
As was the converted “Jew”, Herod the Great, many Edomites allied with Rome, even becoming Roman citizens. Others took part in the Zealot wars against Roman rule in Jerusalem. They had lost their established role as the nation of Edom or “Idumaea”, and had become “still”, unnoticed, as one of the root meanings within their name, signifies. To this day, it is not uncommon for Edomites who converted to Judaism, to be referred to as “false Jews”.
Recent archeological evidence has found what appears to be temple remains in Idumaea. Along with a few other gods, the Edomites worshiped an ancient god considered a competitor to YHWH; called, “Qaus”.
