The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect after several churches were burglarized last weekend in western Wisconsin.

The sheriff’s office says Prairieview Covenant Church, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and First Lutheran Church in New Richmond; Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burkhardt; and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hudson were burglarized in the overnight hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12-14.

The suspect is believed to have been driving a passenger car, possibly a Pontiac.

“It is angering that this individual felt it was their right to break in, damage and steal property that does not belong to them... and all from places that would have helped them, if asked,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

Anyone with information is asked to call 715-381-4387.
