A Ways to Work Program Update from Metropolitan Family Service

Metropolitan Family Service has provided the Ways to Work Program in the Portland Metropolitan area since 2004 and Southwest Washington since 2011.  We have provided 430 loans, and lent almost 2 million dollars since starting the program.  

We have experienced many changes over the last year, as we have transitioned away from being a member of a national program model to operating our own program in partnership with a local credit union, Point West.  We continue to have strong interest from program participants to fill our program slots.  

As of October 10th we have filled all of our slots in the program.  We do not yet know when more slots will be available in the program but are hopeful it will be sometime in 2017.  We are continuing to encourage participants to call in so that we can add them to our program waitlist as it helps us to know program demand when we speak to funders.
