Abilify

Nana’s Sunday-Saturday pill container just got a 21st century upgrade. The FDA officially approved the first digestible e-pill for the schizophrenia drug, Abilify. It’s a revolutionary way of monitoring pill intake through real-time app alerts. Basically, if you forget to take your medicine one day, or start popping Abilify like Tic-Tacs, your doctor will be watching. Invasive? Sure. But important? You bet. By 2020, health care will account for 20% of the U.S.’ ~$23 trillion GDP. Of that, nearly 30% of health care costs are considered “wasteful.” That’s because millions of patients either forget to follow or totally disregard their treatment regimens. And our f…

Venezuela Defaults on Debt

Venezuela: “We Swear We Were Gonna Pay You Back” It’s always fun and games until one country decides to miss a $200 million loan payment. Heavily-indebted, inflation-riddled Venezuela has officially defaulted on the first of (what should be) many loan payments. What went wrong? Well, it’s hard to pay off $60 billion in IOUs to bondholders with only $9 billion left in the bank. That, and the fact Venezuela's already late on $420 million worth of payments. If you’re looking to point the finger at someone, aim it at President Maduro(labeled a “dictator” by the Trump administration) and his drug-slinging partner-in-crime, Vice President Tareck El Aissami. Toge…

Tesla has responded to a lawsuit filed Monday in CaliforniaÂ’s Alameda County Superior Court, alleging that its Fremont factory is a “hotbed for racist behavior.” The lawsuit, filed by former Tesla worker Marcus Vaughn, said he was frequently addressed with the “n-word” by peers as well as Tesla supervisors in the workplace. “Although Tesla stands out as a groundbreaking company at the forefront of the electric car revolution, its standard operating procedure at the Tesla factory is pre-Civil Rights era race discrimination,” stated VaughnÂ’s lawsuit. Tesla has issued a statement through the companyÂ’s blog, saying that the lawsuit contained a number of false st…

SpaceX has completed preparations and is ready to launch the highly secretive “Zuma” satellite(s) later today. Scheduled to liftoff at 5pm/8pm PST/EST on Wednesday, November 15th, the launch campaign has been veiled in an extraordinary level of secrecy for SpaceX and the US launch industry in general, and this has piqued the interest of many. In the last decade or two, the United States military apparatus has launched many dozens of satellites, and secrecy on the order of Zuma is unusual to say the least. Missions for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) typically feature some level of media presence and have developed a community of fans in the age of social media,…

If you're feeling sad and lonely There's a service I can render Tell the one who loves you only I can be so warm and tender Call me, don't be afraid, you can call me Maybe it's late, but just call me Tell me, and I'll be around ... Do you have a fire extinguisher at home, in your car, or on your boat? The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall on certain Kidde fire extinguishers manufactured starting in 1972 to the present. The recall is for disposable extinguishers with plastic handles. These extinguishers have been sold for use in homes, vehicles and boats. The extinguishers are being recalled because “The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.”  HereÂ’s the link to the recall page from…

Don’t count Faraday Future out just yet. The aspiring electric car startup thatÂ’s backed by Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting has faced a series of legal setbacks and financial woes over the last year, most recently publicizing the firing of former BMW veteran who became the companyÂ’s CFO. Faraday Future has reportedly received $900 million in funding by Indian automaker Tata motors, according to a local Chinese media source. The 10 percent stake in Faraday Future values the aspiring Tesla rival at a staggering $9 billion. This is despite the electric car startupÂ’s inability to bring their 1000+ hp FF 91 car to market after its grand debut at CES in Las Vegas. Howev…

We’ve seen a handful of Tesla Model 3 review videos floating around — including an excellent hour-long, deep-dive into the carÂ’s features by our friends at Model 3 Owners Club. That said, we just got a chance to conduct an in-depth evaluation of Model 3 for ourselves. ItÂ’s a fascinating car and in our view, will come to dominate the mid-sized sedan segment over the next few years. Above: Considering the differences between the two Tesla sedans (Photo: EVANNEX) In some ways, Model 3 demonstrates how Tesla has elevated its interior design capabilities and improved the integration of features, functionality, and storage as the company moves forward. In other ways, Mode…

If you’re on a market for a Tesla Model S and debating between the purchase of a Ludicrous P100D and a 100D, a new video by Drag Times might just help you make that decision. Both vehicles are all-wheel drive powered by dual electric motors. TheyÂ’re both equipped with TeslaÂ’s largest 100kWh battery pack and capable of 300-plus miles of driving range.
