One Tesla owner managed to catch a glimpse of the Model 3 assembly line in action over the weekend while visiting the Tesla factory in Fremont, California. A short 2-second video posted to giphy shows a Model 3 conveyor moving the vehicle’s aluminum and high-strength steel body down the factory assembly line. Despite the video showing only a short clip of the Model 3 production line, itÂ’s the first public sighting of Model 3Â’s factory automation in action, outside of CEO Elon MuskÂ’s own Instagram videos. Musk first shared a brief video of Model 3Â’s production body line in action in early October, dispelling reports at the time that the companyÂ’s factory workers w…

Tesla CEO Elon Musk turned on the publicity machine Sunday afternoon, announcing on twitter that the upcoming Tesla Semi unveiling will be live streamed but also “blow your mind”. Not just any blow your mind, but in epic proportions that will send it “clear out of your skull and into an alternate dimension”, says Musk. Thursday’s semi-truck reveal is the next logical step for Tesla who in June 2016 revealed through the company’s second Master Plan that it was looking to enter the commercial trucking industry. “We believe the Tesla Semi will deliver a substantial reduction in the cost of cargo transport, while increasing safety and making it really fun to operate.” Ac…

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States will end in January 2019 a special status given to 5,300 Nicaraguan immigrants that protects them from deportation, senior Trump administration officials said on Monday. A U.S. flag flutters over top of the skyline of New York (R) and Jersey City (L), as seen from Bayonne, New Jersey, August 6, 2011. REUTERS/Gary Hershorn They also said the program known as Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, would be extended until July 2018 for about 86,000 Honduran immigrants, but added it could then be terminated. The decision to end TPS for Nicaraguans is part of President Donald Trump’s broader efforts to tighten restrictions o…

Daytime wounds 'heal more quickly'
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

Wounds heal more quickly if they occur during the day rather than after dark, a study suggests. It found burns sustained at night took an average of 28 days to heal, but just 17 for those that happened in daytime. The team, at the UK's MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, said they were astounded by the difference they saw in 118 burns patients they studied. The effect was explained by the way body clock ticks inside nearly every human cell across a 24-hour cycle. Read more: http://www.bbc.com/news/health-41918368

Department Store Blues Investors pulled out their shopping bags, as Macy’s (+10.98%), Kohl’s (+0.93%), and Nordstrom (+4.52%) all reported for Q3. If you haven’t been inside a mall circa 2012, you’re not alone. Department stores have been cast aside with the rise of e-commerce. Look no further than Macy’s, which has suffered same-store sales decline each of the last 11 quarters (this one was no different). Or how about Nordstrom? The family that runs the retailer tried to take the company private but couldn’t even convince banks to touch the deal with a 10-foot pole. And maybe there’s a reason—same-store sales dropped 1%. Despite marginally positive news fo…

DoubleLine Capital LP’s Jeffrey Gundlach and others have cited declines in high-yield bonds as a sign that U.S. stocks are poised to fall. The conclusion hinges on the relationship between the securities, which has recently broken down. The 30-day correlation between SPDR exchange-traded funds that track the Bloomberg Barclays High Yield and S&P 500 indexes dropped last month to a 7 1/2-year low.

Electric cars are on a collision course with the status quo. Oilprice just published an article titled, Electric Vehicles And The 5 Trillion Dollar Market Transition, in which Peter Tertzakian writes, “There is little debate in my mind that big changes are forthcomingÂ… When it comes to oil and autos, big is a word that is not big enough. Transitioning not one, but two of the largest industries in the world simultaneously is unprecedented. Both have multi-trillion-dollar roots” and the stakes are high. That said, whoÂ’s poised to win this epic vehicle electrification race? Which countries and carmakers are best positioned? It turns out that thereÂ’s a company trying…

Traffic can be a real grind. For those travelling between work and home by car every day, the seemingly endless cycle of gas-brake-repeat at a snail's pace can wear thin. But commuters of the very-near future may be granted some respite by taking to the skies in a flying car. The US company behind the concept vehicle TF-X is hoping, a prototype will be ready to fly - and it will go on general sale within eight. It does give different of these vehicles....  ( Anyone remember that ? ) THE FLYING CAR IS REALLY A COOL THING FIRST ON THE STREET....  and THEN,  UP INTO THE AIR ~~~~~ WOW !!
