Quicken Separation From Intuit Fails
by Guest- 1 reply

My Quicken today told me I needed to upgrade to their new software and get a new "Quicken ID". That process itself did not go smooth since there was no email for them to forward the "confirmation code" to. To make a long story short... after WAY too many attempts and finally just creating a new ID via their website.... my software will not connect to any of my banks or brokerages. Sorry Quicken folks... or those who bought them.... Intuit sold you a lemon. Anyone have any suggestions for a good bookkeeping program that will work on MacOS? Â

OS 11 is available, officially, today. It's coming to every iPhone and iPad made in the past few years, and chances are, you're going to upgrade. When you install it on your iPhone, you'll find that some things are very different than what you're used to, but the core of how you get around and experience the OS will be the same. For example: the Control Center is wildly different and notifications have changed slightly, but you still have that comfortable (and comforting) grid of apps on the home screen. A lot is new, but not so much that you can't recognize it. The iPad is a different story. That's where Apple has made the most radical changes to the way you open an…

Facebook’s Frankenstein Moment
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

Victor Frankenstein, looking over a creature he had made, eventually realized that he couldn’t control his creation. CreditHammer Film, via Photofest On Wednesday, in response to a ProPublica report that Facebook enabled advertisers to target users with offensive terms like “Jew hater,” Sheryl Sandberg, the companyÂ’s chief operating officer, apologized and vowed that the company would adjust its ad-buying tools to prevent similar problems in the future. As I read her statement, my eyes lingered over one line in particular: “We never intended or anticipated this functionality being used this way — and that is on us,” Ms. Sandberg wrote. It was…
