Allen, for the sake of other readers, can you tell me where it is stated in the Holy Scriptures, that God’s chosen anointed priests of “Israel” can be replaced or ‘represented’ by those not anointed – by “foreigners”/”Gentiles”?    (Isa 43:10; 1 Pet 2:5,9; 1 Cor 3:16,17)

Again, can you tell me where in God’s decrees, does His “law” approve of the replacement of His chosen priesthood?

AnnaNana, When you stop confusing the issue. Perhaps this will give the poster a better understanding of scripture by these examples.

  • In Israel, anointment conferred upon the king the ru'aḥ YHWH ("the spirit of the Lord"), i.e., His support (I Sam. 16:13–14; 18:12), strength (Ps. 89:21–25), and wisdom (Isaiah 11:1–4; see *Messiah). The king absorbs divine attributes through unction. The anointment of the high priest served an entirely different function.

The phrase spiritual Israel is used in two primary contexts. The first is as a reference to the entire body of Christian believers, in distinction to the political or racial people of Israel. Spiritual Israel is also sometimes used to suggest concepts related to replacement theology, in which the promises directed toward Israel are now given to the Church, instead.

Galatians 6:16 refers to the “Israel of God.” Given how frequently Paul dismisses ethic or national divisions in this same letter (Galatians 3:26; 4:5–7; 6:15), it is unlikely that he encourages such divisions here. Instead, he refers to the readers as being similar to Isaac: they are the “children of promise” (Galatians 4:28). Paul has a spiritual group in mind in Galatians 6:16, not an ethnic one. This reference to spiritual Israel is clear enough, but not every reference by Paul to Israel is spiritual in nature. Some, such as Romans 9:4, are national and literal. The context is key.

There are other places in the New Testament that suggest a “spiritual Israel” in that they echo terms used in the Old Testament to refer to the Israelites. First Peter 2:9 uses the same terminology as Exodus 19:5–6 in reference to Christians. Galatians 3:29 uses the term heirs, as does Isaiah 65:9. All Christians are “fellow citizens” and members of the house of God, according to Ephesians 2:12–13. Romans 10:12 also says the same—there is no national preference with respect to salvation. Just as we become spiritual “sons of Abraham” by faith (Galatians 3:7), so we can be considered “spiritual Israel” when we receive Christ. In the sense that ethnicity and politics have no relationship to salvation, the term spiritual Israel presents no noteworthy problems.

Therefore, any true "anointed" has been pasted that responsibility by God's Holy Spirit, and yes! If the poster bothers to read scripture as intended, scripture supplies the reason why there is still a need for the anointed today.

Any JW who has been in the organization for a number of years, knows specifically who "Israel" is.  But I see you are bending (crookedly) to Babylonian "new light" introduced by G. Loesch  - that ALL JWs are NOW considered the Temple of God.

If all JWs are "Israel", meaning they are all  God's chosen anointed priests, then there wouldn't have been the need for the Wt. statement I posted, saying that the elders "represent the priesthood"...would there!

You, are creating a diverting doctrine from the word of God.

Revelation 11:1,2 tells us that spiritual "Gentiles" have entered the spiritual Temple of God.  That Temple is stated as a priesthood of "living stones" in  1 Pet 2:5,9, 1 Cor 3:16,17; Eph 2:20-22

They are the Body of Christ - priests under their High Priest,Jesus Christ.

"Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing you in which, as in my first one, I am stirring up your clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder,  that you should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.”"

Even among Jehovah's Witnesses there are many, including the governing body, who do not think God will come to execute judgment for the wicked things going on in the organization. There are many on this forum who claim to be Jehovah's Witnesses who ridicule Jehovah's servants, the servants Jehovah sends forth to warn of the coming destruction, the judgment upon Jehovah's name people.

"For they deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; and that by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water.  But by the same word the heavens and the earth that now exist are reserved for fire and are being kept until the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly people."

Jehovah's judgments are always carried out.

"However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.  Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.  But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed."

Jehovah's day of vengeance against the lawless ones in the organization will come like a thief in the night for those lawless ones. The governing body does not have a clue, and they are not warning the sheep about the UN beginning their attack at Bethel. How could the governing body warn the sheep, when the current governing body is the lawless one?

"Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, consider what sort of people you ought to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion,  as you await and keep close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which the heavens will be destroyed in flames and the elements will melt in the intense heat!"

Jehovah is going to get rid of the current governing authorities. The current governing body is not righteous.

"But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell."

Righteousness will dwell in the Kingdom government.

"Therefore, beloved ones, since you are awaiting these things, do your utmost to be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace.  Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you according to the wisdom given him, speaking about these things as he does in all his letters. However, some things in them are hard to understand, and these things the ignorant and unstable are twisting, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction."

No wicked ones will understand. "They know nothing, they understand nothing, Because their eyes are sealed shut and they cannot see, And their heart has no insight." "The way of the wicked is like the darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble."

But for you who have an ear to hear, Jehovah allows you to hear and your eye to see:

"But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light

That grows brighter and brighter until full daylight."

Praise Jah!
