Two Protestant families from indigenous communities in central Mexico have been living with no access to water, drainage and government benefit programs for a year after they were ostracized for refusing to renounce their faith, and now the community leaders are threatening to expel them, according to a report.

The two families in La Mesa Limantitla village in the Huasteca region of Hidalgo state, who had earlier been told they would face forced displacement if they did not give their financial contributions for local Roman Catholic festivals or participate in their activities despite them being against their religious beliefs, are being threatened with expulsion, the U.K.-based group Christian Solidarity Worldwide reports.

In January, 10 families were asked to sign an illegal agreement saying they are renouncing their right to hold religious services to have their access to water and other essential services reinstated. However, the two families — Nemesio Cruz Hernández, Eligio Santiago Hernández and their wives, Maria Francisca Martínez Hernández and Angelina Martínez Hernández — refused to sign.

Not just JWs that suffer from Catholic opposition.

We have never said that.  The world trend now is to turn against those who are different or do not agree with the common view. ...... a ploy which is very common in Africa.

Soon they will turn against Christians.  My hope is that they put us in prison with them and we can teach them about jehovah and the true condition of the dead.

This is indeed the case, but there is a dark form of persecution that, although rare, some people are unfortunate to be involved with, which is not a normal form of persecution, in a sense, designed to break people, an extreme version of Winston in Room 101 meets Hugo Strange type of madness. Granted if we are to enter into the Tribulation End Times, I have a feeling this version of persecution will be at play at a larger scale. I say this because of what I have learned over the months regarding Christian persecution that isn't too PG to be put on news articles.

What you mentioned is indeed something that can happened, but there can be an event that puts one on the path for the latter. At this point your faith needs to be as hard as a diamond.

There will also be a time where even friends and family will turn on you, or friends of the family for that matter, something I know verily well.

That being said, even during those times and what is to come, people who are truly God fearing, legitimate true worshippers deemed Christians, will be the ones to prosper through various levels of trials, the willingness to even preach about the gospel when Scripture will most likely be censored 100%, for Scripture bans in some schools is already a foreshadowing.

I agree - there are indications in the world that those persons who believe in the ransom of Christ will be persecuted.  We will prosper in the sense that even if we have extreme hardship we will maintain integrity towards God and the Christian principles Christ taught us, so we maintain our friendship with god.

It is Satan's aim to get us compromised with this world and its political system so we do not get everlasting life.  If we do have the mark of the beast we will not qualify for life.

Just like in time of Hitler - most JWs maintained integrity.  Hitler was destroyed but Jehovah's people flourished after this time. So yes, with the help of God we can maintain our integrity.
