James "Gene" Hamilton

James Eugene "Gene" Hamilton, 85, died January 15, 2018, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV, from complications of a stroke.

Gene was born March 9, 1932, in Summersville, WV, son of the late James Allen and Verna Cavendish Hamilton. He was a 1950 graduate of Nicholas County High School.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fay DeArmond Hamilton; two sons: Mark Alan and wife Paula of Summersville, and Joel Nathan and wife Shirley of Morgantown; three grandsons: Nicholas Paul of St. Albans, WV, Christopher Shawn and wife Kassy of Smithfield, PA, and Zachory Scott and wife Tiffany of Morgantown; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Elizabeth Charleson of Houston, TX; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Summersville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, N. Broad Street, at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, with John Foster officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jehovah's Witnesses World Wide Work or Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
