Larry Mack Point was born on December 17, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas. His parents were Bernice Brown Point and George Edward Point Sr.  Larry peacefully went to sleep on January 19, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

Larry graduated with honors from Booker T. Washington High School, and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1963.  Larry loved helping people so he began devoting 100 volunteer hours to the ministry monthly.

Larry was an artist and inventor.  He spearheaded water meter inventions while working for the City of Houston.

In 1984, he appeared on television teaching his children using his books “Learning with Dr. Point: A continuation of his series of infant books”.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, four siblings:  Williada Jernigan, Joyce Young, Dave Young, and Douglas James Point; three children: Reginald Payne, Larry Mack Point II, and Melanie Camille Point Marbs, and one grandson: Cody Point.

Left to cherish his memory are his 6 children: Lori Regina Point Wright (Barry), Futerra Rigmaiden (A.D.), Beth Alisia Point, Karen Michelle Sims (Gerald), Omega Joy Point, and Mark E. Point; 6 siblings: Florence Bernice Strawn, Brown Leonard Point (Carol), Marion Teresa Point Watford, George Edward Point, II, Mona Lisa Jackson (Randy), James Edward Chappell, Jr. (Marsha); 14 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home, 1317 9th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1 p.m.
