What's the context of Matthew 24:15?

 

"Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place (let the reader use discernment),  then let those in Ju·deʹa begin fleeing to the mountains.  Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house,  and let the man in the field not return to pick up his outer garment.  Woe to the pregnant women and those nursing a baby in those days!  Keep praying that your flight may not occur in wintertime nor on the Sabbath day;  for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.  In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short."

 

The disciples asked Jesus when his kingdom coming was imminent. We know Jesus was already "invisibly" present with his disciples ever since his return to heaven, because he said, "I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things." And Jesus also said no man would know the day or hour when the kingdom would take power, so the 1914 business about Jesus taking the kingdom then and invisibly coming is bogus.

 

The context of Matthew 24:15 was how we would know it was around the time Jesus would become king in heaven. Daniel shows that the "disgusting thing" is the UN. The holy place is Bethel. It is a holy place to Jehovah's Witnesses, God's name people. (In the other Daniel prophecies that talk about "holy ones" and "holy place" it is referring to God's name people, even when individuals among those people were behaving in an unholy way or when there was apostasy at the temple. It is not "holy" because of the imperfect people; it is "holy" because God has put His name on the people. It is His Holy Name.)

 

"When you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation..." If you can see with eyes of faith that the UN is going to be attacking, then get out while you can. Jesus warned the Christians to get out of the city, not to get out of the faith. The UN cannot attack the faith of Jehovah's Witnesses. It will attack the Bethels and properties. Do not get out of the faith. Get out of Bethel.

 

The temple was abandoned by Jehovah because of the unholy things going on there. The individuals who loved God were not abandoned, but they had to heed His command to "leave behind even your outer garment."

 

Jehovah's witnesses will be protected by heeding Jesus' warning. Bethel has become guilty of many unholy deeds. The entire setup is in opposition to basic scriptures: to work to support your own ministry, to not have a clergy class (aka "special full-time workers who take a vow of obedience and poverty supported by donations of others"), building up buildings for worship like the nations instead of building the faith of the congregation in love, doctrines and traditions that imitate the Pharisees, exaltation of men as "father" (GB, CO, etc) instead of recognizing we are all brothers, title of "Elder" instead of heartfelt older brothers who shepherd in love...

 

Bethel has been warned just like Jerusalem was warned. Those who heed the warning will get out of the "city", not the faith. 

 

"...for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.  In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short."

 

The attack on religion will last five months (it is the locust attack mentioned in Revelation). Other scriptures in Daniel show the entire "great tribulation" time will be 3 1/2 years. The 2,300 mornings and evenings mentioned in Daniel are 1,150 days. The angel said the organization of holy ones will be restored/refined at that point during the tribulation. 

 

The lawless one of Thessalonians has been revealed. The lawless leaders in the organization sit themselves like gods in the "temple of God", namely, Bethel. They have been revealed, because it is time for the UN to attack. Jehovah always gives a warning first. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, then take the warning. The UN will attack Bethel. 

 

"“However, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near.  Then let those in Ju·deʹa begin fleeing to the mountains, let those in the midst of her leave, and let those in the countryside not enter into her,  because these are days for meting out justice in order that all the things written may be fulfilled.  Woe to the pregnant women and those nursing a baby in those days! For there will be great distress on the land and wrath against this people.  And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled."

 

The attack on false religion will start with the apostates at Bethel. If there is anyone you love at Bethel, please warn them. Jehovah is allowing time for them to get out. Jehovah is a God of justice. He will cleanse the reproach from His Holy Name. The appointed time of the nations is 3 1/2 years. The tribulation will be 3 1/2 years, it is in Daniel and Revelation. 

 

Jesus said the words of Matthew 24:15 in response to the question, "when is the kingdom coming?" Jesus will be enthroned as king. He will cast Satan out of heaven. Satan will get the UN riled up to destroy religion. The time is near.

 

Please warn anyone you know at Bethel. Let them go to the congregations and serve Jehovah. Jehovah's Witnesses are Jehovah's people. Jehovah is refining His people. Jehovah will sanctify His Holy Name. 

 

"Let you Name Be Sanctified. Let your kingdom come."

Jesus said not to try to calculate the date the kingdom would begin. "It does not belong to you to know the times and seasons in the Father's jurisdiction." "No man knows the day or the hour for the kingdom to begin."

 

When Russell and others attempted to find the date, they were being tempted by the Devil and disobedient to Jesus.

 

The bit onto the bait and fell into the trap of the Devil. He tricked them with the 1914 bit.

 

Satan is the ruler of the world and he can cause wars and pestilences. He is the guy behind "magic tricks". Those who are in bed with him also may appear to do "magic tricks". 

 

Jannes and Jambres called for frogs and there were more frogs. Russell said "1914!" and there was 1914. Satan is the ruler of the world and he can make false prophecies look like the are being fulfilled.

 

Jesus said every eye would see him. Every eye hasn't seen him yet.

 

The Devil is the liar and the father of the lie. He lied about 1914 and tricked many people. Now the lawless ones in the organization are completely asleep and don't realize that 2 Timothy 3 about the last days is talking about the last days IN THE CONGREGATION, not the rest of the world. The lawless ones aren't ready to welcome the Christ because they think he already came. The lawless ones aren't prepared for the attack on Bethel because they think Satan was already cast down back around 1914, even though he wasn't cast down then. The lawless ones in the organization don't realize that "peace and security" is what THEY are saying, those lawless ones say there is peace and security in the congregations when there is no peace, Jesus said in Revelation 2 and 3 that there was no peace in the congregations. The lawless ones have been revealed because they are to be taken out. 

 

They are to be removed from the organization by Jesus' permission at the appointed time. 

 

The appointed time is near. When Satan is cast out he will be allowed to use the UN to remove the lawless ones from the organization. The attack on false religion will start at Bethel. "Start with the elders at the front of my sanctuary" per Ezekiel's prophecy. Jehovah has not changed. He will cleanse His people for the sake of His Holy Name.

Jehovah can use a thornbush. Lowly ones can praise Jehovah. We can endure fiery trials with Jehovah's strength and bear much fruit.

 

Jehovah's love is made manifest by sending the crushed and despised and lowly ones to warn those of what is to come, even those at Bethel. Please, lowly ones, Jehovah is magnified in this. His Love is reflected from your eyes and words and actions. "Let your light shine." Let your love shine. Jehovah is with you.

I generally don’t reply to flame wars, but I Never said 1914 didn’t happen. Obviously it did. Also 1915, 1916, etc. to present day.

Was there a war in heaven that established God’s Kingdom AT THAT TIME? 

Could be …. Stranger things have occurred.

I use the “Window Test” for such things as invisible heavenly wars that took place 14.5 billion light years away with absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Yes there was a global world war, and 20 years later and even greater global world war using atomic bombs.

Invisible war? No evidence (like piles of dead angels and mountains of broken wings and feathers ….) 

I look out the window, and if I see NOT one scintilla of hard evidence of a ruling angelic King, nor any Great Tribulation, NOR Armageddon, I disregard the scenarios as unfounded, and ignore the deeply held beliefs of others as delusional fantasies.

That being said, it all may be true.….. but without ANY EVIDENCE, I get better odds from a lottery ticket.

Spoken like a true relative of Audrey. Yes, your arguments are delusional since they have no factual backing. However, the end of the gentile times does have factual backing through man's history.

Start cleaning that window to see what is before you. More thorns to add to that thorn bush.

On the other hand, many won't be around to see God's day, and they are foolish to think they will. But, they will be judged for their skepticism, and for not believing in God's word. There will be some that won't have a chance to be "reinstated" especially because of their defiance. That doesn't mean they won't be judged for leading people astray.

What does that have to do with his enthronement?  Start making sense! It's 2 different things.

There will be more who will join us in worshipping the true God during the tribulation. "We will go with you people, for we have heard God is with you people." When the idols of Egypt were proved worthless by the plagues, many Egyptians joined the Hebrews to go to the promised land. Those Egyptians did not have a deep knowledge of Jehovah yet, but that didn't matter to Jehovah. God is Love.

 

Noah walked with God. Noah was a man of practical wisdom. He also did a window test.

 

"So at the end of 40 days, Noah opened the window that he had made in the ark and sent out a raven; it continued flying outside and returning, until the waters dried off the earth."

 

Noah knew what time it was by looking out the window. It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a Rhodes Scholar to know the kingdom hasn't come yet. Jesus didn't preach to just fancy philosopher people. He preached so kids could understand. Jehovah's kids understand because Jehovah is drawing them.

 

Jesus said, "Happy you are...because flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but my Father in the heavens did."

 

"At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children.  Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.  All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son is willing to reveal him.""

 

When Jehovah's true witnesses survive the initial part of the great tribulation, when they are still serving the true God after all the other religions are gone, when they are refined, when people see how Jehovah protected His witnesses, then other lovers of truth will join us. Jehovah's arms are open to them. We must have our arms and hearts open to them too. Jesus came to save what was lost.

 

There will be more "preaching" to do during the tribulation. "So brace up your minds for activity; keep your senses completely; set your hope on the undeserved kindness that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." The institutions of false religion will be destroyed, but the people within the religions will still have the opportunity to join us. There is a lot of work ahead before the final battle of Armageddon. Three and a half years. Look out the window. The multitudes will need comforting, and we know the God of All Comfort. Get your shepherding shoes on. All hands on deck. No "titles" bestowed by committees needed. The sheep know a shepherd when they see one.

 

Jehovah knows who the real shepherds are too.
