Dorothea Bartlett Jennings

Dorothea Bartlett Jennings, 88, of Madisonville passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Owensboro, daughter of the late Warden Hoover Bartlett and Bertha Green Bartlett. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Jennings; one son, William Warden Jennings; and five brothers, Joseph, Roy, Marshall, Wayman and George Bartlett.

Mrs. Jennings was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Jennings Cooper of Madisonville and Bertie Ziegler of Philadelphia; one brother, Hoover Bartlett of Panther; five grandchildren, William and Audrey Cooper, and Matthew Ziegler, Candace Ziegler Slaton and Jennifer Ziegler Moyer; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jake and Aaron Pierce and Madeline Ziegler.

Services are noon Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, Madisonville, with Brandon Slaton officiating. Burial follows at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Lloyd Bartlett, Boyd Bartlett, Rodney Bartlett, William Cooper, Matthew Ziegler and Kenneth Ziegler.
