OUR BROTHER WARREN COMMENTS US ....... In the new world, when your children ask you: Mom, before the Armageddon that you did? Will you tell them that your father and I were precursors year after year? Some simply could not, but miraculously the carts arrived. It was the answer to their prayers. At last they had a place in the ministry. They did not have to walk, they did not have to talk. People came to them. At first they just looked at them in a funny way, seeing the cart full of books and magazines. Then some began to ask: how much is that book worth? And we told them; that this book with a study was free of charge. Then we had many studies with ou…

I am going to make a helper for him.—Gen. 2:18. Marriage is very much a part of life. A review of its origin and purpose can help us to have a proper view of this relationship and enjoy its intended blessings more fully. After God created the first man, Adam, the animals were brought to him so that he could name them. But “for man there was no helper as a complement of him.” God therefore caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, took a rib from him, built it into a woman, and brought her to the man. (Gen. 2:20-24) Thus, marriage is of divine origin. Jesus confirmed that it was Jehovah who stated: “A man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife…

Why did Jesus hesitate to heal this woman's daughter? On one occasion, Jesus and his apostles were in the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon. While there, they met a Greek woman who begged Jesus to heal her daughter. At first, Jesus ignored the woman. But when she kept on insisting. Why did Jesus at first refuse to help this woman? Was Jesus testing her to see how she would react, giving her an opportunity to display her faith? His tone of voice, although not revealed in the written text, did not discourage her. His use of the term “little dogs” softened the comparison. So perhaps Jesus was acting like a parent who intends to grant a childÂ’s request but withhol…

“God Took Him” Is there a Book of Enoch? No, why? Enoch was apparently in mortal danger when “God took him.” (Genesis 5:24) Jehovah did not allow his faithful prophet to suffer at the hands of rabid enemies. According to the apostle Paul, “Enoch was transferred so as not to see death.” (Hebrews 11:5) Many say that Enoch did not die—that God took him to heaven, where he kept on living. However, Jesus plainly stated: “No man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man.” Jesus was the “forerunner” of all who ascend to heaven.—John 3:13; Hebrews 6:19, 20 So, what happened to Enoch? His being “transferred so as not to see de…

Plans to build a new place of worship on a storage container site in Ingoldisthorpe have been given the go ahead. West Norfolk Council’s planning committee approved proposals for the new building and car parking spaces at Coaly Lane at a meeting on Monday. The plans, submitted by Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, said the new Jehovah’s Witnesses premises would provide a replacement facility for the existing meeting place at Hunstanton Road in Heacham. According to reports submitted to the committee, the building would be located on the western end of the site which has no standing containers at present. Andy Griffin, speaking on behalf of the applicant, said: “They have…

Regarding a change to a song title, the study article on page 7 paragraph 17 of November 2017 Watchtower explained, “The change of the title “Guard Your Heart” to “We Guard Our Hearts” was most considerate. Why? In the audience at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions are many new ones, interested ones, young ones, and sisters who by singing the words would be put in the awkward position of telling others what to do. So the title and the lyrics were modified.”

A Poem for a Special Friend..... I've thought about so many things throughout the days gone by... People that I've known so well... some dear friends who have died. Their cherished memory lives within my mind, and in my heart... I sometimes see them in my dreams - although we're far apart. I've made some good friends through the years who did enrich my life... Some of them were my mentors -- others helped me cope with strife. I shared with them warm laughter, and I've shared with them sad tears. Their loving kindness oft'times helped to quell my many fears. Things happen for a reason... That's what I've heard some say... W…
