My Last Conversation With Prince, R.I.P. ( Neil Strauss, April 21, 2016 ) I just heard moments ago the tragic news that Prince, one of the greatest recording and live artists of our time, passed away. Over the years of writing about music, I’ve interviewed him, seen him perform big and small shows, and even run afoul of him. The following obituary of sorts is from my last encounter with him, when the tables got turned. Instead of me interviewing Prince, somehow he started interviewing me. However, his questions were often more revealing about his character than answers would be in a normal interview. The location was a Los Angeles club, where Pr…

This is a male pregnant piper fish. Deocata Pipefish, Rainbow Freshwater Pipefish. This small cousin of the seahorse is a freshwater pipefish native to India and Bangladesh. They can grow up to about 6 inches. Their colorful belly extrusion is actually a sail-like membrane that can be hidden or pulled out to reveal a colorful striped display. The stripes are displayed by the females courting males to hold their eggs, a unique behavior even amongst pipefish. The eggs are held in a pouch under the tail, and only take about 15 days to hatch. In the wild, these vulnerable and defenseless pipefishes are vulnerable and even in captivity are very uncommon. Advanced aquari…

“For our family worship with our three year old son we read from my book of Bible stories 34 on manna to show that Jehovah provides for his people and that we should appreciate all that he gives us. We put a sheet on the floor and then we had popcorn fall from the sky. Then we were able to pick it up and eat it.” Shared by @weaver.naomi View the full article

I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.—Matt. 28:20. The anointed are spearheading the greatest preaching campaign in history. Without a doubt, Jesus is with them, guiding their efforts. The growing number of prospective sheep count it a privilege to support Christ’s brothers not only in the preaching work but also in other practical ways. For example, they give financial contributions and help to build Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, and branch facilities, and they loyally obey those appointed to take the lead. (Heb. 13:17) Soon the angels will unleash the destructive winds of the great tribulation. This will occur after all the remai…

The quokka may be the cutest animal you’ve never heard of. They’re found only in the southwestern part of Australia where there are only about 20,000 in the wild. The quokka is about the size of a cat or rabbit, with a long skinny tail that sometimes get the quokka mistaken for a rat. But once you see their big black noses and smiling mouths you won’t think quokkas look ratty at all. Quokkas are actually more closely related to Australia’s famous animal the kangaroo. Quokkas, especially the ones on Rottnest Island, aren’t afraid of people. In fact they often come right up to people or visit cafes and campsites looking for free meals. Unfortunately human food doesn’t agree…

My 6 year old gave his first talk doing the convention invite with his father this evening. His daddy is the life and ministry meeting overseer but he rescheduled it for this week so he could share in his son’s first part on the Ministry School. So proud. He said at least five quiet prayers during the meeting to get him through. Best life ever… Photo shared by @catpurr28 View the full article

Photo shared by @_laviedevanes I just got baptized . After three years of studying and really tough family opposition. My uncles are Catholic Priests and my family are against my baptism. I spent two years sneaking out my house attending every meeting and bible study. None of my family showed up but all of the brothers and sisters that studied with me showed up to see me finally dedicating my lift to Jehovah. Thank you for sharing @jws_worldwide_brotherhood #jws_worldwide_brotherhood View the full article

You will actually drink the milk of nations.—Isa. 60:16. Many inventions of the past 200 years have helped us to accomplish our commission to make disciples. (Matt. 28:19, 20) In fulfillment of the prophecy that Jehovah’s people would “drink the milk of nations,” we have made wise use of resources of the nations, such as modern technology, in order to produce the Bible and Bible literature in many languages. Clearly, we have strong evidence of God’s blessing. Of course, Jehovah does not rely on our help to accomplish his purposes. Yet, our loving heavenly Father allows us to be his “fellow workers,” thus enabling us to show our love for him and for our neighbor. (1 C…
