Peter took [Jesus] aside and began to rebuke him, saying: “Be kind to yourself, Lord; you will not have this happen to you at all.”—Matt. 16:22. The apostle Peter meant well when he urged Jesus to be kind to himself in order not to be killed. Jesus, however, knew that PeterÂ’s comment reflected faulty thinking. To help him and the other disciples, Jesus gave frank counsel, stated the consequences of a self-sparing attitude, and outlined the blessings of a self-sacrificing spirit. (Matt. 16:21-27) Peter learned the lesson. (1 Pet. 2:20, 21) Pray to Jehovah to give you insight so that you can understand where your teenager needs help. (Ps. 32:8) For example, what mig…

HELSINKI—Just days following the deadly terrorist attack in Turku, Finland, on August 18, 2017, city officials welcomed JehovahÂ’s Witnesses back to the market square to continue their public ministry efforts. “The Witnesses are a permanent fixture in the square and a fundamental part of the cityscape,” stated Mr. Teemu Rissanen, who oversees the market square in Turku. “In the past, when the Witnesses have been absent, residents have become concerned and have asked, ‘Where are they?Â…

*** it-2 p. 385 Messenger *** “Messenger of the Covenant.” In fulfillment of Malachi 3:1, John the Baptizer appeared as the messenger who prepared the way before Jehovah by getting the Jews ready for the coming of God’s chief representative, Jesus Christ.—Mt 11:10, 11; Mr 1:1-4; Lu 7:27, 28. As the foretold “messenger of the covenant,” Jesus Christ came to the temple and cleansed it. (Mt 21:12, 13; Mr 11:15-17; Lu 19:45, 46) He evidently was the messenger of the Abrahamic covenant, for it was on the basis of this covenant that the Jews were the first ones to be granted the opportunity to become Kingdom heirs. This was the covenant to which Peter appe…

Sharon passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at 12:20 a.m. at Weston County Health Services due to complications of diabetes. As many knew in our local community, Sharon was rarely apart from her mother and faithfully cared for her to the end in 2016. Sharon was a true pioneer woman. She loved to do things from scratch: gardening, canning, quilting and having just about every kind of animal on her little ‘farm.Â’ She loved children, and often had them over with their parents to enjoy the animals with her. For those close to her and others who knew her or worked with her, this is a great loss. However, one of SharonÂ’s great treasures was her faith. As one of JehovahÂ’s …

FEAR CIRCLES THE EARTH! - IS THIS THE CREATORS PROMISE FOR MAN TO LIVE IN FEAR? - ??????????? Jehovah promised concerning his people: “They will build houses and live in them, and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit, nor will they plant for others to eat.” (Isa. 65:21, 22) Security. At long last, the heartwarming word picture painted at Isaiah 11:6-9 will see a complete fulfillment even in a literal sense. Men, women, and children will be safe and secure wherever they go on earth. No creature, whether human or animal, will pose any threat. Imagine a time when you will see this entire planet …

News The New World Translation is absolutely forbidden in Russia. ? Brothers not only can't meet, or preach, but now that they find our Bible, they go to jail. On 20 December 2017 at 21:55, the leningrad regional court confirmed the decision of the city court of vyborg to recognize the Russian translation of the Bible by Jehovah's witnesses as "extremist material". The Representatives of the right-Holder intend to appeal this decision. Such erroneous judicial decisions on the recognition of certain extremist printed materials are the basis for all accusations of extremism against Jehovah's witnesses, as well as the basis of the court's decision. On the liqui…

December 15, 2017 TO ALL CONGREGATIONS Re: 2017 Service Year Report Dear Brothers: We are pleased to share encouraging highlights from the 2017 service year report. The peak number of publishers was 8,457,107. Jehovah’s people spent a total of 2,046,000,202 hours in the ministry, a 3.1 percent increase from last year. We are especially encouraged to see a 7.4 percent increase in the number baptized, with a total of 284,212! This is evidence that we take seriously our commission to “make disciples.” (Matt. 28:19) We were delighted to see that the average number of regular pioneers was 1,225,279. This was an 8.6 percent increase! The worldwide Memorial attendance …

SONG 6 The Heavens Declare God’s Glory ~ ???? (Psalm 19) 1. The heavens tell the glory of Jehovah. The work of his own hand, we see in skies above. And each new day brings to him rightful praise. The starlit night proclaims his might, His wisdom, and his love. 2. JehovahÂ’s law is perfect, life-restoring, And his reminders guide the steps of old and young. His rulings prove to be true, right, and just. His word is sure, his law so pure, So sweet upon the tongue. 3. The fear of God is pure and lasts forever. The worth of his commands exceeds the finest gold. His orders lead and …

Don't let fear and anger, grief, worry, stress take over your body....they destroy the body! - We have a resting place with Jehovah! - The wicked will be shown up! - ???? We need to Pray for deliverance and put it in Jehovah's hands....He says: "They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” Jehovah has said. This is what Jehovah has said: “The heavens are my throne, and the earth is my footstool." (1 Peter 3:10-18) . . .For, “he that would love life and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from what is bad and [his] lips from speaking deception, 11 but let him turn away from what is bad and do what is good; let him seek peace a…

"Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved." (Rom. 10:13) ~ ????? In the Middle Ages, God’s personal name was rather widely known in Europe. That name, represented by four Hebrew letters called the Tetragrammaton and commonly transliterated YHWH (or JHVH), appeared on coins, on facades of houses, in many books and Bibles, and even in some Catholic and Protestant churches. However, the trend in recent times is to eliminate the name of God from Bible translations and from other uses. One indication of this is the Letter to the BishopsÂ’ Conferences on ‘the Name of God,Â’ dated June 29, 2008. In it the Roman Catholic Church advised that…

Syrian Writer Taciano Agreed On Accuracy Of Four Gospels ~ ??? Many researchers have compared and ordered the events of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. ??? That was what the Syrian writer Taciano did, who recognized that these four books were accurate and had been inspired by God. LET JEHOVAH GUIDE YOU WHEN MAKING DECISIONS ~ ? ? ? ? ? When we have to make a decision, we first need to think about what Bible principles can help us and how we can apply them. In some cases, we may want to do more research in our publications or even ask an elder for advice. He could help us to think about other Bible principles. Imagine this situation: A sister is married to someone who is not a Witness. She plans to go out in the ministry on a particular day. (Acts 4:20) But on that day, her husband does not want her to go preaching. He tells her that they have not spent much time together lately and that he would like to take her out somewhere. S…
